We have a great opportunity for a full-time Route Service Merchandiser on our Bakersfield - Visalia area route.
<br>
This person will contribute to our success by aiding in the installation, support and merchandising of our coin operated entertainment toward successful achievement of our company goals. This individual will perform merchandising of assigned markets and light service requirements. Travel within assigned areas.
<br>
<br>
Summary of key responsibilities:
<br>
• Drives company truck or automobile during scheduled daily distribution of product to machines at various locations on the route.
<br>
• 5 day approximate 45 hr. week includes Saturdays. Collects money from machines and records amount along with all required information..
<br>
• Keeps daily record of product distributed to each machine, calculates number of vends and vend ratios.
<br>
• Provides quality customer service through regular interaction and communication with account managers, owner, employees, and player.
<br>
• Communicates status of machines and customer accounts to Team Leaders.
<br>
• Accounts for the security of all money, machines, and merchandise on the route. This includes reporting machine vandalism and theft as well as researching shortages/overages of money collected.
<br>
• Keeps machines cleaned and maintained in proper working order. This includes route maintenance as needed.
<br>
• Listens to and resolves service complaints.
<br>
• Places product in machines to maximize presentation and sales.
<br>

Required Qualifications and Experience:
<br>
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
<br>
• Current driver’s license in good standing required. Pre-employment background, criminal, credit and drug tests will be required.
<br>
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
<br>

The following is an overview of the job duties for a Hallmark Retail Merchandiser. If you are selected for the position, you will be assigned a hand-held computer called an INFOLink. This unit serves a couple of purposes. It will track your time worked as well as the activities you perform each day on your service call. At the beginning of each service day, you will log in on your INFOLink unit, read all messages and also check your shipment screen. You will then proceed to the Receiving area of the store to see what shipments have arrived. The freight could be just a few boxes or as many as 20 or more, which is typical during busy seasonal times. Some of the boxes can weigh up to 50 lbs each. Product is then taken from the backroom to the Hallmark department to be put out on display.

<br>
In the Hallmark Card Department, you will replenish, straighten, and track inventory of the every-day and seasonal greeting cards and specialty items which includes gift wrap, party supplies and other stationery items. With your INFOLink unit, you will scan bar codes on the products to determine product placement, track inventory and determine replenishment needs. You may also have to walk to areas outside of the card department to service other displays in the store. When your work in the department is complete, you will log out of your INFOLink unit.

This position will require you to lift boxes up to 50 lbs as well as stoop, squat, walk and stand for long periods of time. You will need to interact in a professional manner with store employees, store management and customers while in the store. You will have to complete your duties in an efficient and timely manner to stay within the budgeted hours for the store. If your store(s) is being reset or remodeled an occasional evening or weekend may be required.
<br>
<br>
Upon arriving home, you must transmit the information captured on your INFOLink to report your time worked and the activities you completed on your service call. There are 2 options for the transmission of the data. You will place your INFOLink unit into a cradle that will be provided to you. The cradle must then be connected either to a phone jack that carries analog phone service or an open port on a wireless router that is connected to an Ethernet (high-speed) computer line. Analog phone service is basic telephone service provided by the local telephone company. The transmission cannot be completed through cellular service or through digital service. If you have phone service through an internet provider such as Time Warner, Comcast or Cox, you most likely do not have analog service. You must have one of these two options in your home in order to complete the transmission.

As a Retail Merchandiser for this position, you will be providing service to a Stater Brothers Market located at 800 North China Lake Boulevard in Ridgecrest, CA. You will need to provide 1 days of service each week with service being completed on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Service must be completed in the morning and early afternoon. While hours are not guaranteed, you will typically average 1 - 5 hours per week. You must be available to work the day before and the day after all major card holidays.
