<![CDATA[DESCRIPTION: I am the recent, second owner of this lovely maple dining set. The set was purchased new, used and then stored by a local family for more than 55 years! I recently purchased the set for my dining room only to discover that it could not fit when fully extended. I regretfully offer this beautiful antique set for your purchase. Nichols & Stone, of Gardner, Massachusettes, was a well-known manufacturer of solid, upscale wooden furniture. They recently closed their last U.S. manufacturing plant. Their furniture pieces can last a lifetime or longer, and become more scarce with each passing year. This set is a rare find as it is in exquisite condition! Features: Solid maple chairs and oval/rectangle dining table in their original finish with NO refinishing or repairs. Table features a double leaf for extension, and has drop leaf ends. The chairs are very solid and feature multi-spindle back and sides. EVERY SPINDLE is secure - there are no loose, missing, or replaced spindles. The drop-leaf ends are supported by a lovely, decorative brace that maneuvers easily. The table top has a lock on either side to secure the table when the extensions are not being utilized. The chairs are equipped with feet that self-adjust to the surface on which they are placed. According to the set's history, the feet were installed when the set was new. VALUED OVER $2,300!! The table is identified with a burnished logo on the underside which reads "Angelus Furn Mfg Co LA Cal". I also see a marking that reads "Walters & Wabash". There are some numbers, and the family name of the previous owner, written on the underside of the table. The chairs are each engraved with a logo that reads "Nichols & Stone Co Gardner, Mass". They are also stamped (black ink) with "Old Pine", which I suspect was the style name. Included are: Oval/rectangle table Two (2) leaf extensions Three (3) chairs SIZE: Table measures approx. 84"L x 39.5"W x 30"H (fully extended) 60"L x 39.5"W x 30"H (without extensions) 27"L x 39.5"W x 30"H (drop-leaf style without extensions) Each leaf measures approx. 12"L x 39.5"W Each chair measures approx. 22.5"W x 33.5"H Seat measures approx. 17.5"D CONDITION: Antique/vintage with some wear. The table is in magnificant condition for its age; it has a ring that is the size of a drinking glass (as shown in the photo) that is fairly deep. The chairs are also in excellent condition and structurally sound, with some wear visible at the top of the seat backs, arms, and seats.
