He has spent all of his life struggling with poverty, racism, dyslexia, asthma, homelessness, and now mental hospitals and prisons. I was lucky to be removed from our moms home several years before he was born; but, he has never been given a break. He raised himself as a child while living with our mother who is paranoid schizophrenic. She would spray him for fleas that she imagined. Life is hard enough to figure out than to have spent all of childhood with a woman who doesn't know the difference between a doll and a living baby. He is now 31 years old and has been on the streets since he was a teenager. I would like to see if this story will go around the world and yet maintain the basic out-line model that I have developed. I think that it will. I will be forwarding the story at the end of the week to another city. Let us begin. Chapter 1 ‘The cause is the consequence’. Her words burned into my awareness. It was though I felt the unrelenting truth more than I heard it. This search for meaning and purpose, my cherished quest, lay utterly naked. It would have been better had a child asked why a cup was a more suitable container for drink than a hand. That question at least would have only been a matter efficiency, why not a hand, must there be cups. But my query. Why our civilizations crumble? Why our lives shift by degrees? Why? ‘The cause is the consequence.’ My name is Ayize. If you are reading this then we are nearing the beginning of the ending or the ending of the beginning. It’s still difficult even now to wrap my mind around, but rest assured or wrest for assureance, life goes on and the world will keep spinning. The first light of dawn, my epiphany came on campus, where she met me… in the place of my un-doing. Apart from being a haven from the usual college distractions, the library afforded me the opportunity to have within arms length any texts I required for this project. My time spent in the army had given me the discipline needed to perform better than I had before. That coupled with a difference in age gave me an advantage. I learned how to learn. However, as a non-traditional student you find at times that university interaction becomes more of show and tell. ‘Class here’s the 33 year old army vet say hi’. Though the narcissist in me never complained too loudly I enjoyed moments alone just being a student. My interest began with the recent disappearances in Baltimore. Foul play was suspected but no evidence could prove it. Unfortunately, the cult that these people belonged to always spoke of leaving, and it appeared it pointed to mass suicide. I didn’t buy it. I always had an interest metaphysics, and this group had it piqued. Imagine, moving from one level of existence to another simply by willing it. How? Why? Who is able? More questions. The foundation of research. ]]>
