The MS Society is hosting a large fundraising event, The Chesapeake Challenge, based at Washington College May 22-23. This weekend is actually two events: Bike MS (a 2-day 150 miles cycling event) and Challenge Walk MS (a 2-day 30K walk) attracting close to 1,000 riders, walkers, volunteers and community members to raise funds to fight multiple sclerosis. Participants raise money (a minimum of $300) that the Society uses for national research initiatives as well as local programs and services. This is one of our biggest fundraisers all year and we want to make this year extra special!

As a part of our weekend long festivities, we are looking for energetic DJs and bands to help us create a fun, family atmosphere. We have several opportunities depending on your availability:

1. Saturday, May 22 at the Romancoke Pier in Stevensville from 6:30am-9:00am. This is our start line for Challenge Walk and we need someone to kick off the event.

2. Saturday, May 22 at the Chesapeake Exploration and Visitors Center off Piney Narrow Rd from noon-5pm. This is the finish line for our Challenge Walk and we need some excitement here after the walkers complete a 20 mile route.

Really. What kind of person doesn't love a big beautiful party celebrating love. I love weddings. Haven't been to any lately, but I watch the wedding channel a lot. Now marriage I'm wary of, having been there done that, but the party, oh man. So I've decided to channel my love of weddings into something lucrative and become a wedding planner. My cousin Giselle(name changed to protect the crazy) has allowed me to plan her wedding to allow me the opportunity to build a portfolio. I thank her. She has $10,000, I have a creative mind and a thirst for bargains, so together we make a great team. Never mind that the average wedding in her town costs 21,000. Who cares about averages? I'm not average and neither is she, and the wedding will be spectacular. I think I want to make that my specialty, making a dollar out of fifty cents, champagne weddings on beer budgets, that sort of thing. I've advertised on craigslist, but the two future brides who responded I seem to have scared them off. Not quite sure why, but its happened to me a few times on the singles site I frequent, so hey... I thrive on rejection. Anyway, I'm offering my wedding planning "skills" for a hugely discounted price on craigslist-trying to build this portfolio so I can build this business so I can pay off the loans for this law degree that I don't even use. Hmmm maybe I should consider divorce law-just kidding.
