<br>
The Manager supervises and coordinates all activities of the fitness center including initiating and implementing programming, setting customer service standards, managing Quality Assurance program guidelines, working with members, developing or maintaining a group fitness program and other duties as assigned. The Manager may also supervise staff at a multi-staffed site. Supervisory responsibilities below are applicable only when the Manager supervises staff. The Manager reports to the Assistant Director and/or to a Senior Manager.

Essential Duties
<br>
• Facilitates the development of facility programs, initiatives, goals and objectives; creates and implements action plans to implement programs, and to achieve stated goals; continues to initiate new programs as part of an ongoing effort to stimulate participation and encourage new participants
<br>
• Supervises full time staff, Coverage Specialists, Interns, and onsite contractors (where applicable)
<br>
• Maintains a positive, service-oriented relationship with client contact; establishes an ongoing positive and professional rapport with members
<br>
• Creates budget and monitors expenses against determined budget
<br>
• Demonstrates consistent attention to detail and organizational skill, manages competing demands
<br>
• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of Fitness Center membership, including but not limited to, evaluating health forms, establishing orientation protocols, tracking members, and conducting renewals
<br>
• Assesses health status of members, ranging from apparently healthy to high risk, to provide exercise and other wellness-related counsel/recommendations unique to each individual
<br>
• Performs weekly/monthly/annual responsibilities as indicated in the department Operations Manual;
<br>
• Oversees implementation of Quality Assurance program; establishes and maintains facility specific quality standards
<br>
• Supervises Group Fitness Instructors and group exercise program; adjusts classes/schedule as needed
<br>
• Teaches group exercise classes onsite; provides acceptable activities to meet fitness levels of participants; adheres to appropriate safety guidelines; keeps classes inviting, challenging, and popular
<br>
• Supervises the preventive maintenance and repair of exercise equipment; ensures facility cleanliness
<br>
• Speaks effectively before groups of customers or employees of client organization
<br>
• Writes clearly and informatively, varies writing style to meet audience needs
<br>
• Communicates frequently with Assistant Director regarding programming, management questions, and other topics as appropriate
<br>
• Demonstrates work ethic, ingenuity, customer care, and attention to detail
<br>
• Maintains familiarity with and abides by the policies stated in both the NIFS Employee Handbook as well as the CFM Operations Manual
<br>
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
<br>

• Education and/or Experience
<br>
o Bachelor's degree in a health-related field from four-year college/university; Master’s degree preferred
<br>
o Other work experience in a corporate fitness setting preferred
<br>
o Three to five years of increasingly challenging experience in the field preferred; where applicable, staff management experience desirable
<br>
o Ability to teach basic core and muscle conditioning group fitness classes
<br>
o Ability to safely and accurately prescribe exercise for a variety of populations using ACSM guidelines
<br>
• Computer Skills
<br>
o Knowledge of Internet Explorer or other platforms for responsible use of the Web as a resource
<br>
o Knowledge of and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point and Publisher
<br>
o Once trained, the employee should be capable of accurately using NIFS payroll system
<br>
• Certifications
<br>
o ACSM Health/Fitness Specialist Certification preferred
<br>
o Other industry-related certifications (CPT, CSCS, etc) acknowledged
<br>
o Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required
<br>
o Trained in Universal Precautions annually (provided by NIFS)
<br>
• Language Skills
<br>
o Reads and accurately interprets documents such as NIFS or client rules/policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
<br>
o Writes routine reports and correspondence effectively and precisely for the designated audience

-Uses a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures.

-Works closely with CNC programmers for debugging first time programs;
