<![CDATA[My personal opinion is that 11 months is too young. My daughter was full trained by 2 yrs. She began showing interest in the potty shortly after her first birthday. We allowed her to sit on it and she would bring in a basket of books and hang out on the potty for a while. As she got older, we let her take off her diaper when she sat, and eventually she started to go. She did it all on her own because we didn't push it. The best advice I can give is to let your child lead the way in potty training. When she is ready, she will let you know. if you really want to start it this soon, I would allow her to sit on the potty in her diaper, let her flush it, and just start to become comfortable in the bathroom. If she loses interest or doesn't want to sit on it, then she probaby isn't ready yet and you should wait a few months and try again. Thats my opinion, I'm sure others will give you their thoughts as well. Good luck!]]>

I also am a SINGLE mom and my kids are in every sport that you can think of so I barely have time to rest, but this is my job and I love what I do. I provide QUALITY Care, I teach the children and I love them as if they were my own. It's just so sad that there are licensed providers who post things on CL that only gives us good providers a bad name! Yes it is aganist the law to watch children without a child care license, but if a parent chooses a unlicensed person to watch their child(ren) it's their business. As long as I know that MY home is licensed, insured and I have my necessary training and certificates that's all that matters. Every child who comes to my home is protected and covered by my insurance and every parent knows that because of my license my home has been ispected and deemed safe by the state of Maryland, my background is good and clean! PROVIDERS: If you have a problem with SAHM's being unlicensed, just report them! stop posting your opinions on CL! There are some of us who would like GET business by advertising on CL. Of course providers should make sure the environment is also warm and loving. Providers care for and nurture little ones, we don't "babysit". The OCC is now part of MSDE.(office of child care, MD state department of education) That means there are new criteria to be met and you actually need a curriculum and provide toys and activities to support your curriculum. It's really quite fun! You didn't mention what area you live in so I couldn't give you a specific website to check out for your area. But in general you will need the following completed in order to provide care. On average it will cost anywhere from $425+. That price is with only 1 fingerprinting fee, no notarizing fee, (your bank should do this for free). I did not calculate any fee associated with Co-Pays from any doctor for the medical forms. That amount also does not include the cost of your curriculum, sleeping arrangements, and anything you may need to open. It should cost under $1000.00 to get started. She was born at 6 months- weighing only 2 pounds. And after 2 months of being in the hospital, She went straight into daycare. Where they let other kids touch her face and steal her diapers/ wipes. My daughter was ALWAYS sick---so I saw an ad on here that a daycare provider provided enfamil and diapers. SO THE ONLY WAY MY DAUGHTER WOULD GO BACK TO DAYCARE WOULD BE FOR THOSE PERKS. I knew no one would agree...BUT suprisingly i had a couple respond and agree to those terms.....I agree with the previous poster....if you cant accomodate this then mine your business....SAHM have other income- i.e their husbands and can afford this. My daughter is currently with a SAHM but she lives to far in Pikesville, MD and we pay her 100 a week..........THANKS. I cant wait to see what yall haters have to say about that. lol. My single family home is located right off of Route 40 & within a mile of 695/ 95. My license is current with the state of Maryland and I have all the required training needed, to include CPR, First Aid, Sids training, among other child developmental and safety training. I currently have two children enrolled and we are looking for another playmate to laugh and learn with. I am licensed for up to 8 children but will only enroll 3 to 4 children at one time. I provide quality childcare and this lower enrollment enables me to give any infants/ toddlers I have the individualized attention & love they may need in a semi- structured family-like setting. I serve nutritious meals that include, Breakfast, AM Snack and Lunch and this is included in my rates, with the exception of formula. During the day activities that we do are exercise time,arts and crafts, music time, story time, educational activities as well as outside time. For 3 years old and over I do offer a pre-school curriculum. My back yard is completely fenced in for any outdoor activities that we may do. Constant supervision and planned activites will keep your child's mind stimulated while having fun with new friends. My house has never failed an inspection through that State of Maryland or Fire Dept., and is clean, smoke free, and pet free. Referenses and license can be provided at the time of interview.
