<![CDATA[HI! My name is David, owner of David Lebel's Musical Services. I have a few slots I'm trying to fill, so here's a bit about what I can off you and my rates. I charge $25 for 30 minutes, $35 for 45, and $40 for an hour. I give a $5 discount if you pay cash (so $20, 30 $, $35). Payments are required at the beginning of each month. I do drive to many homes, but that cost is an additional $10 per lesson and must be in Steele Creek, Ballantyne, or Meyer Park/Foxcroft areas. For violin students I use the Suzuki method of which I have had over 20 years experience with (10 years studying it, 10 years teaching it). It initially consists of playing by ear, but shortly after beginning, I slowly integrate reading music along with the ear training. This also will depend on the age of the individual. If he/she is 3, there won't be any reading of music for several years. Children 6 and up can begin reading music after a few months to a year depending on practice time and talent. For piano I use books that teach reading right away, even to those as young as 4. This is because the piano is much easier to make an acceptable sound vs. the violin which requires a combination of many factors to even begin changing notes and forming a song.
