<![CDATA[Need a gaffer for a black and white 16mm student short film. The shoot is Saturday and Sunday afternoon. you'll be working with three lights on indoor location. Transportation, food and drinks are provided. ]]>

<![CDATA[We are currently working on a local Chicago music video for a hip/hop - rapper and looking for an assistant to help with various post-production roles. No experience required, you can gain the knowledge and training as you go. In order to do the job you either need a Tivo, DVR, or TV Harddrive recorder. This is not a paid position but could lead to paid freelance work within the company on other projects. The video was a low-budget project only covering the expenses and we don't have any room for extras. One of your immediate roles will be to Tivo or DVR particular scenes that we may affect and incorporate into some various montages in the video. I will give you a copy of the script and our notes and you will use your discretion to record, collect and burn to DVD these various scenes. You can also download clips from various video sites like vimeo, veoh, youtube but you will be limited on what you can use online because we are looking for HD and SD quality clips so anything with poor quality might not work. You will also have to keep a detailed log of what the show was (maybe recording their credits as well) and where it aired. We might be limited on which clips we can use in the end but we expect that many of the items we are seeking will be public domain. You will sign a form waiving you from any liability if you fear you are in a gray legal area. Because we will research each clip we will be sure we only use the clips we find are public domain or in a way that they fall under the montage, parody, or news laws which give specific rules for using certain material in particular situations. There are various stock footage sites online but most cost more than we have in our budget to obtain. If you are unable to find any clips via TV Network / Cable Broadcast we might have to seek out royalty free or public domain stock footage sites if we can get them for very little. As Producer I will work very closely with you to creatively gather these clips or maybe even shoot some scenes in order to achieve a custom scenario or look that we need. You must have internet access as well. And owning a car is a plus in case we do have to drive around and shoot or collect footage from others. I would also suggest posting various free ads online asking for people to donate footage they might have in their home movies or collections. (This is much harder but would be really ideal.) We only have 10 days to gather the footage we need in order to make the editing deadline. The video will be distributed online. The artist is more popular overseas but is just at the cusp of breaking out here in Chicago. If you are a fan of music it is a big plus. A majority of the work my company does is music related. If you have any editing or other post-production skills that is also a huge plus. We could also use an Assistant Editor in the Chicago area (the closer to the Western Suburbs the better). We might be hiring an assistant editor for low pay or an internship very soon and this role could transition to that role once we complete this video. The Assistant Editor role requires capturing/digitizing tapes, Mac Final Cut Pro (FCP) experience, as well as various other programs we use (Aftereffects, Photoshop, Compressor, DVD Studio Pro, etc. This role will lead to working on some very prestigious projects and the ability to train under the leading concert film Director / Editor in the Midwest. You can learn some of the techniques and skills that as to my knowledge are not taught in any classroom. Shooting, Editing, and working on concert films is an art in itself that requires a different knowledge than that of feature, commercial, corporate, or any other shooting style. You have to constantly adjust to the changing lights. It's a great challenge but very rewarding with many of the perks of the rock and roll lifestyle! You must be down to earth, have a positive attitude, like dogs, have a passion for film, video & music and willing to train and pick up direction well. We are seeking a videographer in the Chicago area who could do some shooting for this project, in 2 locations this coming Monday/Tuesday. Shoots will take place in Charleston and Rolling Meadows Illinois. Here is the schedule: Monday 11/10 - Be in Charleston by 10 am. Here is a list of locations that we are seeking out: 1. An Apartment bedroom, (Or a bedroom in a house would also work, it doesn't matter.) ideally with a window and with high ceilings. We would not have to change much about the room for the shot, except for moving in a bed, and perhaps taking some things off the walls. 2. A store front.
