The show is a mixed media assault on what we`re fed by the mainstream, particularly focusing on youtube and late-night TV culture. But in this case the presentation will be sculpted, the material following an arc, like a theme album. The group will take on the appearance of slightly wicked, traveling carnies, with a 1920s look...similar to Bob Fosse's "Cabaret" or the Dresden Dolls...though I prefer the music of Kurt Weill and Tom Waits to the Dresdens. "The Secret Life of a Housewife" is about a woman longing to feel a connection from her husband, a man consumed with his work and the frustrations of every day life. After her husband hurriedly leaves for work in the morning, we watch the woman as she gets ready (changing into a black dress, trench coat, and applying lipstick). After her secret meeting with a lover, the woman returns to her home and acts as if nothing has happened. When her husband gets home from work, we realize that he is the same man she has been having an affair with; the couple's secret life sparking their love once again.
