<![CDATA[Unbelievable, but true ... Boy Learns Respect Parents Stunned... Delighted!   Tony was very disruptive. He was disruptive at school, and rude and inconsiderate at home. Tony had been suspended from school; he was not obeying curfews, and constantly used profane and disrespectful language when talking with his parents. Tony demonstrated no respect for family members or teachers at school. Not surprisingly, nobody respected Tony, other than a few kids at school...who all had attitudes similar to his. As you can imagine, Tony’s parents were heartbroken over his lack of respect. Then they heard, through a neighbor, that Martial Arts might be a good way to teach Tony respect. When I first got to know Tony, I could tell by his appearance and the way he talked about himself that his self-respect was low. It was also apparent that he saw no connection between his attitude toward others and their attitude toward him. Tony felt that he would begin respecting others when they began respecting him. This isn’t too surprising in a 15 year old. Smart parents understand that kids must be taught respect. Although Tony was disrespectful at home and at school, he was very polite and respectful in the Karate school. He loved the protocol and the politeness of the Martial Arts. I said to him, “Tony, why do you like it here?” He said, “I dunno...I guess because of all the teachers have done in Karate. I respect that.” He added, “Plus, everybody is nice to me.” “Tony, can you see how it works? You are respected here because you are respectful.” “What do you mean?” “Tony, would you be disruptive or disrespectful here? Would you be verbally disrespectful to your Martial Art teachers?” “No way!” Tony wanted, more than anything else, to be respected. I began to show Tony how his disrespectful attitude outside of the Martial Arts was hurting him. And how he really owed far more respect to his family and his school teachers than he did to his Martial Art teachers. Tony began to understand so we made a plan: 1. Appearance. “Tony, why is your Karate uniform always so neat and clean?” “I just like it that way, I guess.” “Well, you certainly seem to take pride in your appearance when you come to Karate. I respect that, and so do your Karate teachers.” I began to help Tony see that certain types of dress were appropriate with his friends, in social settings...but were not appropriate around his family and in school. We discussed the value in taking pride in one’s appearance as a way of earning respect. 2. Language.   Tony had such a sullen, negative way of speaking that people automatically interpreted it as disrespect.  What’s more, he seldom looked anybody in the eye when he spoke. We began working on making eye contact with people, and using a more enthusiastic voice tone. The occasional “Yes, Sir!” and “Yes, Ma’am” when talking with parents and teachers was one way that we used to show them that Tony was making an effort to be respectful. 3. Obey “rules of the house.”  ...just like he was doing in the Karate school. Tony had never given any thought to the fact that he should be respecting the rules of his parent’s home. And yet, when he came to his “karate home,” he always understood that certain rules of conduct applied. We discussed the importance of avoiding bad language, and rowdy behavior, observing curfews, and all other type of family rules. Tony was a good kid with some misguided thinking. He thought, “I am not going to respect anybody who doesn’t respect me.” He didn’t understand that you must first give respect in order to get respect. Now, you've got to be asking yourself, "This sounds great - but how does it work?" and "How do I get these results for my child?" First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Scott Shoen. I’ve worked with over 2,000 kids (just like yours!) over the last 18 years. Many are grown adults now and still training. I started training for many of the same reasons that students come to me for help. I was struggling in school, getting bullied, was frustrated, angry and disrespectful. <![CDATA[We are looking for homes for kitties. There are 2 cute feral babies who would be loving and are being domesticated as well as their calico mom who is domesticated. There are also 2 orphan kittens we have nursed since they where 1 week or so old, they are extreemly domesticated and will call you to find you. One (Male)is a beautiful Black / Silver mix and one is a White / grey / Black female. Then there are 2 others one is a slate grey with a tail with a hook tail and the other is a stunning kitten with Black and Pewter coloring with Bold markings and a swirl pattern. I am going to spay the mom and keep her she is not a loving cat but I have gotten attached. Currently I already have enough cats, I can't afford to care for any more strays. Farmer don't believe in altering the cats and we end up with them. I have wormed them as well as put flea prevention on them. They eat hard kitty food as well as litter trained. There will be a small adoption fee with a spay or neuter fee for a certificate to make sure they are altered before they go to new homes. ]]>

<![CDATA[ Very loving yorkie puppy. His name is Franklin he turned 1 on August 18th. He is a pure breed Yorkie with papers. He was fixed in October. and weighs 5 1/2 lbs. Franklin is up to date on all shots including Rabies! He is a wonderful dog he has been raised with 2 kids (1 & 7). Franklin is house trained (he uses a pad in the house we change daily....This is convenient for people that are away during the day or even an elder person that cannot take the dog outside. Franklin is very good with other animals (we have a cat & lrg. dog). He loves to be cuddled! We are trying to sell 0ur house and unfortanetly may move into an apartment! CrossFit CLE is a 3200 sq ft fitness training facility hosting CrossFit workouts in Cleveland, OH. He loves tubes, boxes and bags. He only eats Iams Kitten food...doesn't care for any type of snacks. He is 95% litter box trained and does ok with baths and nail trimmings. He's very laid back...and loves to nap! We recently rescued a large dog that chases poor Simon constantly. I don't want to keep Simon locked up in his cage, so I've decided to find him a new ferret-loving home. I would also include his two-story Ferret Nation mansion...which is an awesome cage.
