<![CDATA[THE SCULPTURE CENTER SEEKS ARTISTS FOR IT’S 2010 WINDOW TO SCULPTURE EMERGING ARTIST SERIES The Sculpture Center is seeking applicants for its 2010 Window to Sculpture Emerging Artist Series (W2S) with an open call for artists. Beginning in 1991, the series features exceptional contemporary sculptors who have been working as professional artists for no more than 10 years. Eligible artists must have an Ohio connection, have completed an arts degree and be within the first ten years of their career. Once selected the artist will produce work for an 850 sq. foot or 1,000 sq. foot gallery. The artist is responsible for all transportation, installation and deinstallation of work. Artists are also invited to give an informal artist talk at the opening, and have the opportunity to give one workshop for third through sixth graders, with compensation. Submissions must be of sculpture or installations that represent recent work and, if possible, the nature of the proposed W2S installation. Interested artists can apply by going to www.sculpturecenter.org and clicking on Call 4 Entry at the bottom on the homepage. All submissions must be received no later than January 19, 2009. ABOUT THE SCULPTURE CENTER: The Sculpture Center is located in Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood at 1834 East 123rd Street, off Euclid Avenue, beside Lake View Cemetery and two blocks from Little Italy. The Sculpture Center galleries are open Wednesday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, Saturday from noon to 4 pm, and other times by appointment. The Sculpture Center offices are open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Programs and hours are subject to change. Admission, parking, public receptions, and gallery talks are always free. The Sculpture Center is handicapped accessible. The Sculpture Center is a not-for-profit 501[c]3 arts organization dedicated to the enrichment, education, enjoyment, and visual enhancement of the community at large through sculpture.
