<![CDATA[Hello!! I call her, the Shi Tzu, "Little ShiT"......... She needs a new home, she suffers from neglect and i think, she was beaten so be gentle, but not pittyful. About Her: I found her on my street, wandering, no tags. She is charcoal grey with a white splotch on her check and white arm bands right above her paws. She may be old, but she acts like a puppy, oves to play, take baths, a nautral swimmer, rolls on the floor on her back from side to side like a fish when she wants to play and is hyper. A true delight and a clown. She has the most gentle butterfly nibbles when she play bites you. Same for if she really bites you (i tried to brush out some of her knots). No need for harsh tones with her, she gets rules very quickly, when you say something, and show her what you mean, she gets it after a few minutes, or immediately. Give her rules, she can totally handle them and obey them. Be consistant! Do not baby her or she will be a naughty dog!! Knowledge: She can fetch, sit, lay down, come, rollover (kind of), if you tell her to stay out of the kitchen or to leave it, or to sit at the door untill you say OK or LETS GO she will stay there and then follow you. She loves to please i I think she is very smart and willing to learn. She should undergo some training, she need minimal exercise, (30 min walk 1 time a day, or running in back yard for 15 minutes) but loves to play so I suggest playing with her as often as possible. She makes a good guard dog, her bark can be loud and silenced very quick by claping your hands and saying Thankyou. Behavioral Issues: She barks and cries for 2-5 minutes after you leave her alone, but then she stops. She is a bit territorial of humans towards dogs, so make sure to take her off your lap if she growls at your dogs, reward her whenever she is around your pups, take her out of the room if she jumps or nips at them. Again, she doesn't bite anything hard at all, her defensiveness is from nervousness/ insecurity, so this will disipate rapidly with training. She likes to shred papertowels, or tissues. SHe HATES her paws & butt handled alot. (be aware but don't avoid it, it's good to get her used to being handeled everywhere) And i am sure it will change after she is shaved. Overview: Barks and whines a few minutes, jumps up on you, lacks self confidence and so is dog aggressive, but her bite in nothing. Health: Doen't appear fixed. Breath is a bit stinky, may have a paw infection, or skin, due to all the mats in her fur. No fleas, SOOOOOO matted, she needs to see a vet, without a doubt before she goes home with anyone else ( I'd like to know of the vet report in case my pups are in danger) and she needs to be put to sleep when she gets shaved, because she is so matted, she will have to be shaved, at least on her butt and legs. I Know it would be far to traumatic otherwise. Nails need clipping and hair plucked from ears. She will need a nice warm sweater after her hair cut, she has a tiny sneez already. She is in heat, not fixed! PLEASE READ! Finally, as a dog trainer and as a shelter worker, I will NOT give Little ShiT to anyone that doesn't agree to 3 training sessions, a shave and a full vet visit, including getting fixed. We have had her for a year now and unfortunatly we don't have time to do much with her. She shakes, lays, stands, sits, and speaks. She is fully house trained. She does like to be outside in warm weather though. I really would rather her be an inside/outside dog and be well cared for. She plays fetch. Forget the name. I will try to get that taken care of for his next owner, but I am swamped with end of the semester stuff and preparing a 1year move to Taiwan, which is the reason for the need for his adoption. He is a full blood collie, but I have lost his papers a few years ago when I moved.
