Qualifications: *Degree in music (preferably education; performance okay too) *Two years of experience teaching/working with kids *Ten years of performance experience on instrument(s) *Interest in working with special needs kids (experience is a plus) *Organized *Self-starter and self-disciplined Job Responsibilities: *Teaching potentially several private students per week, on days you specify (Mon. – Sat.), some in-home *Evaluating students on a regular basis (at initial lesson, and quarterly thereafter) *Setting regular goals with students and helping students to achieve them *Checking practice charts *Attending training regarding special needs students and/or general teacher training *Teaching music theory/comprehensive musicianship during lessons *Planning, teaching, and/or assisting with classes, camps, or special events *Attending monthly staff meetings and coordinating with staff on projects *Maintaining professional communication with staff, students and families Pay begins at $18 an hour with the potential to increase.
