In its most basic sense, the play tells the story of four young gay men and their experiences growing up in the Southern Baptist church. In a broader sense, however, it is a story of redemption, love, truth, and the freedom one finds in self-acceptance. Shores, a writer/producer for shows such as Queer as Folk and Dharma & Greg is known in the theatre world for his big haired Texas comedies including this and the cult hit Sordid Lives.
