Why is our room so cheap? First off, you will share the duplex with a fun couple who lives there full-time (Mike and Dominique) and one somewhat needy cat (Sacha). Finally, the owners of the duplex, Clint and Emily (that's us), will stay at the house when they are in town. We live in Steamboat Springs full-time, but come to Denver sometimes to shop or just to get out of the snow. We stay in the basement bedroom when we are in town and usually stick around for just a couple of days. We have a chocolate lab, Molly Brown, who comes with us on these trips.

I'm a 26 year old female professional who just rented a great place in Denver, and I'm now searching for a roommate. My sidekick is a mellow English Bulldog that loves people and other dogs (he has a tendency to chase kitties, so I don't think someone with a cat would work for us).

About the place:

Rent: $475 + utilites. It is about 1,200 sq ft. Two LARGE bedrooms with awesome closet space. Tons of storage available. Everything is brand new. The unit has not been lived in since it was completely remodeled. Stainless appliances in kitchen (brand new), central heat(though, no AC), new double paned windows (keeps it cool in the summer, and warm in the winter), 1 decent size bathroom (again, brand new). There is a garage (I reduced the rent by $25/month because I will have my car parked in it); but it's big, so there is definitely space for bikes, gear, etc.

Lease term is 6 or 12 mos. $475 + utilities. More on utilities: Heat (averaged about $90/month in the middle of the winter); electric (averages about $30/month); and wireless internet ($35/month). So, I expect rent + utilites should typically run around $550, give or take. I don't currently have cable, but will get it and pay for 1/2 if you're interested. Landlord pays trash and water. There is a coin op washer and dryer in the utility room right out the back door. Easy street parking available. BIG, fenced backyard accessible to all 5 units. This place is very dog friendly (meaning, 5 of the 5 units have a dog), so if you are uncomfortable around pups, this probably isn't a good place for you. Note about pictures: This unit was up for sale and was "staged" for that purpose. The furnishings in the pictures are not mine, and have since been removed from the home. The bedroom that's available is the one pictured in the lower right corner. Again, it is NOT furnished. I have a lot of nice furniture in the common areas, so all you need is bedroom furnishings. My general decor taste...think pottery barn, west elm, etc.

More details: 1/2 security deposit required (paid directly to landlord). There is also an extra deposit (REFUNDABLE) for additional doggies. Oh, and credit/background check run by landlord is $45.
