Has he kept his word? In two important events this past week, Obama's campaign has once again proven that he is nothing but a far left-wing Democrat who will say anything to be elected, and who will follow the traditional tactics of the Democrat party in this election. This coming week, the DNC will continue this major change in campaign strategy back into the traditional Democrat foremat. As this country's best President, Ronald Regan put it, "There they go again!" First and Foremost: Obama's selection of a Running Mate. Why is this selection important? What exactly what power and duties does a Vice-President have? Besides presiding over the Senate, the Vice-President's primary duty is to ensure the consistency of leadership should the President become incapacitated for any reason. So, who does Senator Obama believe would be the 2 nd best person to be the President of the United States? Who would best carry on his ideals of "Change" and "No More Politics as Usual"? Obama selected Joseph Biden - a white male attorney, a politician with 36 years in Congress. This is the same man who was himself a candidate for President; the candidate for whom the well-informed voters of Iowa cast only 1% of their votes. What is it about Senator Biden that Senator Obama believes will make a good President when 99% of Iowans disagreed? Second: The Initiation of Attacks Upon Senator McCain Using Traditional Democrat Tactics of Socio-Economic Class Envy. In his very first public speech as Obama's running mate, Senator Biden immediately attacked Senator John McCain and his wife, Cindy, for owning multiple houses, stating: Ladies and gentlemen, your kitchen table is like mine. You sit there at night before you put the kids - after you put the kids to bed and you talk, you talk about what you need. You talk about how much you are worried about being able to pay the bills. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that's not a worry John McCain has to worry about. It's a pretty hard experience. He'll have to figure out which of the seven kitchen tables to sit at. Sadly, Senator Biden, like his running partner the day before, failed to rise above "politics as usual", as they both stood in the gutter in the use of the obvious time-honored tactics of the Democrat Party in this attack. The Democrats have traditionally pandered to the far-left radical socialists and attempted to curry the favor of the undecided members of the low and middle socio-economic classes by using the scurrilous tactic of exploiting emotional feelings of class envy. The Democrats have time, and time again, attack Republican candidates through the shameful attempts to cast Republicans as "fat cats", "the rich", and an endless list of other words clearly indicated to castigate them as somehow being less worthy of an American because they and their families have been economically successful in a capitalistic society. The Democrats wrongfully assume that Americans will not see past these tricks; they assume Americans turn their envy of successful fellow Americans into negative feelings - but they are wrong. Americans, and the rest of the world, see successful Americans and they want to emulate them, to have a fair shot at working hard in order to achieve their part of the American dream. Just recently, in Beijing, China, a Chinese interpreter stated that most Chinese did not have Chairman Moa as their idol, but Bill Gates! Now they get it! Americans don't begrudge Cindy McCain's family because they grew their beer distributorship into a profitable company, and as a result Cindy owns several pieces of real property - Americans are happy for them! Americans love winners! Oh, did you pick up on the true fact that Cindy owns the property? Kenneth P. Vogel of Politico.com has reported that, "The presumptive Republican nominee, though, may have some wiggle room in explaining why he couldn't immediately provide an answer when asked by Politico how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own. Sen. McCain himself does not own any of the properties. They're all owned by Cindy McCain, her dependent children and the trusts and companies they control." So the Democrats have taken Senator McCain's attempts to get his staff to give to the media a clear and definitive answer to a somewhat complicated question about their family's real estate holdings and the Democrats have tried to transform the situation into something it was not. It is not about McCain not knowing where his home is, and it's not about McCain not being able to relate to Americans facing difficult times. It is about Obama & Biden abandoning "No More Politics as Usual" and attempting to fool average Americans into following their traditional class envy jealousies. Senator Biden's comments about Senator McCain's were truly short-sided, if not just dumb. For 5 & 1/2 years, McCain stayed at the "Hanoi Hilton", while Biden stayed in his cozy home. McCain did not have a chair or table, let alone a house - just a very small cell. McCain didn't have the daily freedoms Joe Biden had, as P.O.W.s in Vietnam were not given the plethora of civil rights Joe Biden pushed to grant the al-Qaeda terrorists in Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. After refusing an early release from his captors, designed to be a propaganda ploy against the U.S., and resisting the Vietcong, Lt. Cmdr. McCain walked out of Hanoi as a true American hero - an inspiration to his fellow prisoners. Anyone with an ounce of decency in their soul, with any American spirit of empathy and compassion, would wish Lt. Cmdr McCain the best that America has to offer. He could found easy-street and remained a private citizen, but that just isn't John McCain. He continued to serve our country, and he was lucky enough to find Cindy and fall in love during a difficult time after his return from captivity caused his 1 st marriage to fall apart. Their story is not one of excessive wealth with an iron-heart of non-compassion, but exactly the opposite. Anyone who has read about Cindy's efforts for philanthropy knows the truth. At the end of the day, how can anyone suffer an ill will against the hero of the Hanoi Hilton for having the blessings of God in working hard for the American people, for marrying his love, Cindy, and their having economic success as a result of Cindy's family's realizing the American dream of owning property? I believe that John McCain will be the best person to be our next President for two reasons: 1) He will be the best commander-in-chief during a time where radical fundamentalist Islamic terrorists are finding immoral and devious ways to attack and kill Americans around the world; and 2) John McCain has been the original Maverick in reaching across the aisle to obtain bi-partisan support for solutions to the problems of Americans for years and years - which is why Joseph Biden wanted to be John McCain's running mate. More Americans can relate to ex-P.O.W. John McCain than Harvard law school graduate and law professor Obama and his running mate - career politician, law school cheat, and plagiarizer Joe Biden. Only one campaign has a candidate with a proven track record of being a Maverick in Congress - not following traditional party lines and doing what he thinks is the best course of action for the Country. Only one candidate is a true American hero, in a time where we need a hero to be ready on day one - without on-the-job training. That candidate is Senator John McCain. I urge all Americans to tell the Democrats that their same old political agenda of encouraging class warfare through the use of mudslinging against an American hero is no "change" but is politics as normal. I encourage you to reject that agenda and send the Maverick to the Oval Office. No more politics as usual - let's solve the problems of America through honor and doing the right thing. Laptop, digital camera, ipod, a leather coat and several other items totaling an estimated $5000. There is plenty of evidence to prove it: Pictures of the missing items, statements from officers, and obvious violation of proceedures. ALL OF THAT IN THE ORIGINAL REPORT. The case has gone to internal affairs, but nothing of consequence has come of it. I need help to bring a law suit against the Aurora Police Department. These officers are still working, running the streets, serving and protecting who?? What would put any other citizen in jail for felony theft appearently does not apply those who carry badges. I contacted all the news stations and papers here in denver and noone has picked up my story. All the laywers i have talked to say I have a case, but do not want go against the Police Department. I fear retaliation and want my story heard in response to any future action of retribution the individual officers may seek. It happened to me. It could happen to you. <![CDATA[Colorado does not have a tax on food, but Longmont does. Our city taxes us on what we cannot avoid. They tax food and water, they tax every sale and exchange of goods possible. Reading is free as newspapers are not taxed. Farming goes untaxed, but the city limits how much of your own food you can grow. Many cities and towns outside of Longmont do not tax food, and many nearby towns have fewer and less costly taxes than here. This draws retailers to open their shops elsewhere, and close the stores that they have here. This draws shoppers away from Longmont, which decreases tax coffer income, and entices the city to raise taxes on those without an option to shop elsewhere. Whenever the taxes go up in Longmont, the tax on food jumps. A jump that lands on the backs of the those who can least afford the city's greedy nature. They can't leave to shop in Weld county. With fuel costs as they are, we all end up staying here to pay the offset for travel to the city in the form of sales taxes. In 2009 there will be a special measure on the ballot to reduce and then end grocery taxes in Longmont. But it will only get to the ballot if citizens want it to. So many voters have expressed their willingness to VOTE to End Grocery Taxes, but only a handful stepped up to do the work to get it to the BALLOT. And that's what's needed. We are looking for volunteers to help End Grocery Taxes in Longmont. You don't need to be a voter, just 18.]]>

<![CDATA[Hartford Bars Police from Asking Status of Illegal Aliens Thursday, August 14, 2008 By Keriann Hopkins, Correspondent The city council of Hartford, Conn., has unanimously approved an ordinance that prohibits police and city employees from asking people about their immigration status. The ordinance would bar police from arresting or detaining any person on the sole grounds that immigration authorities had issued an administrative warrant for them. Councilman Luis Cotto, who introduced the ordinance, said it was needed so that illegal immigrants would be willing to cooperate with police in criminal investigations without fear of deportation. At a public hearing Monday before the vote, no one spoke out against the ordinance, but anti-illegal immigration groups see problems with the plan. Ira Mehlman, media director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, said that police already “routinely ignore obvious violations of the law” in the cases of illegal immigrants being used as witnesses or sources, and therefore an official restriction is unnecessary. “Everybody knows the game,” said Mehlman. “There’s no reason why you need to offer blanket assurances. Discretion in police work is something that is routinely part of what cops do every single day, and it should be applied in this situation also.” Mehlman said that even though immigration enforcement is the job of federal immigration authorities, the police have an “obligation to act” if somebody who is violating a federal law “falls into their laps.” “It is ... their responsibility to act when they come across somebody who is violating the law of some other jurisdiction, to assist in making sure that person is brought to the attention of the proper authorities,” he told CNSNews.com. Supporters of the ordinance stressed the necessity of a positive, cooperative relationship between police and victims or witnesses. Kara Hart, an attorney with the Greater Hartford Legal Aid, said that her organization represents hundreds of victims of domestic violence every year and she sees the ordinance as “a really positive development for public safety.” “I think that the fact that there’s a city ordinance in place that makes it clear that ... services will be available regardless of the victim’s status also sends an important message to the community that if you need police to protect your safety, you should feel safe in reaching out,” she told CNSNews.com. Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez must sign the ordinance for it to become law. The Associated Press reported that the mayor has indicated that he believes an order issued in March by Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts is adequate to keep Hartford police from making immigration arrests unless there is also a criminal investigation. That order was issued in March. If the ordinance is passed, Hartford will join the ranks of several other cities that have increasingly become harbor cities for illegal immigrants. Starting in July 2007, New Haven, Conn., home of Yale University, began offering ID cards to all residents, including between 10,000-20,000 illegal immigrants. The measure was passed to allow illegal aliens to open bank accounts. San Francisco also began issuing ID cards to residents in 2007. Mehlman, meanwhile, warned against releasing illegal immigrants from custody back to the “streets.” “I want to know what Mr. Cotta will say to the family of someone in Hartford, Connecticut after an illegal alien, who had been in police custody, is back on the streets and goes out and commits some heinous crime,” said Mehlman. “If he can look them in the eye and explain to them: ‘We wanted to make illegal immigrants feel comfortable.’”]]>

Access-A-Ride is available for a fee to individuals that are disabled and do not have the ability to ride the RTD bus. Access-A-Ride takes individuals to the wrong address and drops them off and when the individual tells them it is not the right place the driver makes them get off anyway and then just leaves, they also pick people up early and take them to the drop off, they do not show up to pick individuals up and numerous other situations that are dangerous. The service is horrible, dangerous and degrading to those who really need their service.
