<![CDATA[One of our chihuahuas was found, thanks to some really nice people. We are still missing two more chihuahuas. One is off-white and is about 3 1/2 pounds. Please see picture. We also have another Chihuahua that has been missing since last year. She is black and white, like a little cow. We are still looking for her. Please see picture of the dog (from last year). <![CDATA[This is for those of you who have lost/found or are trying to rehome/give away an animal. Please read through the whole thing. For those of you who have LOST pets, make sure to put flyers up everywhere. I put up flyers when I FIND a pet and SO many people call me (for a different dog usually) and when I ask, "have you put up flyers yet?" They reply that they haven't! It seems like a no brainer but so many don't. Also if your dog is micro-chipped call the microchip company, and report the dog as missing. For those that DO get the dog back, get them microchipped as soon as possible! If the pound were to ever pick them up again, they will find you quickly. Also don't forget to REGISTER the pet once it is micro-chipped. AGAIN you don't know how many dogs I find that ARE micro-chipped but NOT registered. Duh? That's the whole point. It's like putting a name tag on without writing your name on it! And put tags on them, too. Again so many people that I talk to, say that they didn't have their tags on them! Well, duh! ALSO, a lot of dogs get out because they are in heat or smell another dog in heat. Folks, their urge is just as strong as ours and they don't care who they mate with as long as it is another dog! A male can smell a female dog in heat a MILE AWAY!! A dog that has never gotten out will find a way when their urges are strong. So do you and your pet a favor! If you spay/neuter your pet you can avoid this! AND.....you prevent unwanted litters that in a year can equal at least 50 puppies! Don't even get me started about the 18,000 animals we put to sleep here in El Paso! Okay, for those that FOUND a pet, also put up flyers. If you can't find the owner and want to rehome them, PLEASE, PLEASE get them spayed/neutered BEFORE they leave your hands!!!! The City's Health Dept./Animal Control has a Pet Care-A-Van that goes to different parts of the city everyday and does the surgery for FREE! Yes....FREE! (You were such a good person in the first place to take the dog in and try to find the owner.....take one more step and get them fixed.) They also do $15 micro-chipping and $17 Rabies vaccines. So do the dog a favor, and get it fixed! You don't know how many lives you will be saving from euthanasia down the road!
