<![CDATA[I am working with Raytheon Systems in El Paso and I am looking for a Technical Writer with some Adobe Framemaker experience for a contract that should extend through the end of the year (with possible extension). The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour and it is requested that only US Citizens apply.
Job Duties
<br>
Performs editing, proofreading, and quality control functions to produce technical training documents in a deadline-driven environment
<br>
Ensures accuracy, consistency and appropriateness of style, format, syntax, and spelling
<br>
Interacts closely with co-workers, subject matter experts, and customers to understand and meet product expectations
<br>
Manages multiple deadlines and priorities within specified time frames. Performs other duties as assigned
<br>
Education Desired
<br>
Bachelors degree in English or technical field (experience may substitute for education) or 2-5 years work experience
<br>
Special Requirements
<br>
2 years of technical editing experience in missile systems, Patriot or Hawk preferred
<br>
Experience
<br>
A minimum of 5 years of technical editing
<br>
Experience in air defense activities
<br>
Strong English grammar skills
<br>
2 years experience in Adobe FrameMaker 7.0 (or at least SOME experience)
<br>
5 years experience Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 2003
<br>
Be accustomed to editing on-line ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
<br>
Strong interpersonal skills
<br>
Knowledge Desired
<br>
2 years of technical editing
<br>
Experience with document formatting and templates
<br>
Strong commitment to quality
<br>
Detail oriented
<br>
Good verbal communication skills
<br>
Good teaming skills
