After you gave it to them for free. Why would you pay for a dog without having proof of AKC. You should of got papers, which you told them you had. That your husband was holding hostage. Just like the baby clothes you have and will not give back. I know these people personally and JAXX is in the best house. He is loved and cared for. He is just another dog you decided to get rid of for know reason. Get over yourself no one cares what you say. You have proved yourself to be a big, fat liar. <![CDATA[CAN ANYONE HELP??!!My wife and I adopted Ben from the Wake County Animal Shelter about five months ago. We were both volunteers at WCAS and had spent a lot of time getting to know this wonderful dog. When we found out he was scheduled to be euthanized we were heartbroken and decided to take him in. We already had two dogs but we figured we could handle another. Unfortunately, one of our other dogs is too territorial and has been aggressive toward Ben. Ben is a total sweetheart and we'll be very sad to see him go. We have been trying to re-home him for about two months now. If we don't find him a new home (or foster home) soon, we will have to make the difficult decision to bring him back to the shelter where he will almost certainly be put down. This would break our hearts. We want to make sure he winds up with new owners who will love him and care for him as much as we have. More about Ben... - Neutered male Pit Bull, approximately 2 years old. - Current on all shots and in good health. - Has a wonderful, warm personality. Loves to play and cuddle. Extremely affectionate once he feels comfortable with you. - Can be somewhat nervous at times. Was likely abused before we rescued him. - Is crate-trained. - Will sometimes bark at strangers who enter our home, but shows great affection toward both me and my wife. It doesn't take long for him to warm up to new people. - When walking, will shy away from other dogs and people. I know this is an especially hard time for the economy, and in addition to that, I know that it is an especially hard time of the year, but it is also a time of year to help those people who can't even afford to have christmas. Please read Remington's story, and please, help us help him Remi's Story Remington came into our lives about 3 months ago or so. He was to be my boyfriend's first puppy, in addition to my 4 rescue pups. We have a good amount of land and a lot of space for the dogs, so the more the merrier, especially for those who would have been discarded otherwise. When we saw Remington, it was apparent that he had an upper respiratory infection. We took him home anyways, isolated from my dogs, and we immediately got him to the vet. He was put on amoxi-drops, which didn't work. He was then put on clavamox which helped, and some eye ointment for the nasty eye boogers. This poor pup was so sick, he wheezed every time he tried to play, and could barely open his eyes due to all the thick crust. In addition to this, we found out that same week that he had coccidia. Some dewormer should do the trick, and after the exams, both antibiotics, the rechecks, the wormers, and the tests, 400 bucks for the poor little guy. This is NOT including any of the shots or regular exams. We were prepared though, and had this plus a bit more saved away. we are, after all, responsible pet owners. Nothing could prepare us for what we found out next. We had always noticed from the first time that we brought remi home that he had a slight limp. The vet, and us included, chalked this up to puppy bumbliness. Upon palpation, there seemed to be no problems in his hips or knees, and so we trusted the vet and let it be. After a few weeks though, we started to notice that his right leg was considerable weaker than his left. The muscle mass was twice as big on his left leg, and he would always run on that side. We brough remi in again, and the vet decided we should have an xray. $150 dollars later (that 550 for those keeping track) our vet enlisted the help of two radiologists to diagnose the problem (another $200). We found out that he had a "green stick" fracture on his fibula. It wasn't on any growth plate, so we figured with some crate rest, it would get better. It didnt. Remington was getting better, so the vet told us that we should let him walk and go about his normal routine. However, in his puppy rambunctiousness, he fell bum over tea kettle down 2 steps, and proceeded to break his leg completely, both the fibula and the tibia. He wasn't able to walk, and again, we rushed him to the vet. Another Xray ($150) plus an exam and some pain meds (another 150) this diagnoses was confirmed. Remington needed surgery. We scheduled him right away, not knowing how we would make the payments. The vet thought that a few screws would be alright (which would only be about 6-700) but after they opened him up, they realized this was impossible and he would need an external fixator. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, its two rods stuck through the bone so they are poking out each end to stabilize the bone on the outside. Right, i know. that was $1800, right there. Finally, we thought things were over. We just wanted him to come home and get to be a happy puppy. But this is far from over. We now found out that we must change his bandages every 10 days, making it at least 100 dollars per visit due to sedation (it is extremely painful). He must have the external fixator for a MINIMUM of 8 weeks, so, if you do the math, thats $600 in after care. THEN when that's all over, he has to be sedated and have the rods pulled out of his bones by the same surgeon who did the surgery in the first place. That's estimated at about another 500 or so. In total, we will spend about $4000, and that's not including pain meds, exams, shots, foods, e-collars (which he has a knack for destroying), or any other normal puppy stuff. We have sacrificed christmas. We don't even have a tree. we have sacrified food and are now living off of mac and cheese. The clinic, which I previously worked for, has helped us out tremendously in every way that they have been able to. But xrays are not cheap, and they cannot control the costs of the surgeon. I have four other dogs to care for as well (did I mention that my oldest female shattered her femur not 2 months before and costs me $2100? We are asking you to open your hearts to this little pup that no one was going to take, to help us to get him healthy and have a life that he deserves. We have opened our hearts to him and could never give up. Please help us, even a few dollars makes a world of difference. We've both contributed to your causes, please contribute to ours, we have sacrified all that we can. Did I mention we are both 24 and have a mortgage to keep up with?
