<![CDATA[This is a polish pottery Salt and Pepper mills set, in a unique design pattern, that I picked up myself in Boleslawiec, Poland last June. Both items were tested to ensure proper function. These items were hand formed with the classic Boleslawiec clay method. The top and bottom of the mills are made of solid hardwoods while the body is made of pottery and is hollow on the core to hold the peppercorns and sea salt. This pieces are both 1st quality...not a 2nd or 3rd choice quality. This colorful, beautiful set is not only an excellent addition to any kitchenware collection but also a one-of-a-kind addition to a Polish pottery collection. If you are familiar with this beautiful pottery, you know how hard it is to come by unique pieces (not the usual plate or bowl) but it's even harder to find them in a unique design (not the same old peacock pattern). This particular design is a trade mark of one producer only so there is only an extremely limited amount of pieces painted with this design. If you own any polish pottery, you already know how valuable it is and that even small condiment bowl will cost not less than $10 even in discount stores as Ross. Unique items that are hard to find are obviously more expensive and absolutely impossible to find here in the States. However, they are well worth the price as they are very versatile and undeniably beautiful pieces to use every day in the kitchen! I purchased this set during a weekend-long trip to Boleslawiec. I purchased the salt mill in one store and I had to visit 14 more to find the matching pepper mill. Those were the only 2 mills of any pattern color or shape that I ever saw during the trip. Therefore, given how rare it was to find this set it was not a surprise to me to learn its cost. However I felt like this was such a nice pattern and such a one-of-a-kind item that it DESERVED the price tag! Note for beginners: Polish Pottery is lead & cadmium-free. The print that decorate the pieces is layered under the hard, scratch-resistant glaze so it won't wear off with use. Polish pottery is not merely decorative as it is freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. It is very easy to clean and durable as well as beautiful. All patterns can be mixed and matched and look wonderful with all tableware decor styles. Each piece is hand-painted and therefore small imperfections and flaws may be expected in each and every piece. However, that's part of their unique and handcrafted character which makes each piece special. Price is firm. <![CDATA[I am just moving in from a bigger place and I REALLY need to let go of a lot of stuff, as I don't have the same space as I did in the previous house to display them :-( I have a series of framed pictures in several different sizes. They are all ORIGINAL hand painted papyrus from Egypt that I purchased on my trip to Cairo in May of 2000. They have various scenes on them which are copies of the murals found in the the famous Pharaohs and Queens tombs in the King's Valley of Egypt. They are different subject matters and have lots of symbolism and beautifully intricate details. They are truly work of arts and are stunning conversation pieces for any home or office. They are in different sizes and they have 2 different kind of frames. The 2 large ones (1st pic) have "ghost" frames and are both 15" x 19". Please be aware that there is a very SMALL chip about the size of a pea (1/4" x 1/2" max) on the bottom left corner of the right picture on the first photo. You can opt to change the frame (or only the glass) or you can just use it as-is just like I did for years. This frame was damaged during a previous move, as the glass is completely exposed on the edges, and the corners get lots of stress even with padding. I have to say that I never had anyone realizing that the corner was chipped in the past yrs I had them on my walls. Not even the movers, who packed these on our latest move here to NC noticed...so they are written up as NEW condition in my inventory :-) But as I said...It's up to you to decide if you want to cut a new glass and substitute it or not. The second photo is of the other group of pictures with golden thinly carved frames. These are absolutely stunning and in MINT conditions. Very delicate but intricate details of whimsical flowers and vines in these frames. The large one is 17" x 13" and the two smaller ones are 7" x 9". I am selling the first set of 2 for $25 and the second set of 3 for $35. I will give you both for $55 if you are interested in the ENTIRE lot! What a bargain! I have used them in my living room, guest bedroom and dining room too. The absolute coolest thing about this huge rugs is that they are washable in your machine (which is always a plus with rugs--especially if you have kids, pets or allergies). If you don't have a washer big enough you can just go to a local launderette to get these looking like new again! All my rugs are in excellent used conditions, no holes, stains or tears. They have been laundered before storing and are smelly good and clean! My home is a very clean and smoke free household so you will not be disappointed by these beauties. The first rug on the left measures 70"x106" (not including fringes) and the one on the right is 54"x81" (without counting fringes). Please be aware that even thought the rugs were purchased in the same store they were (and still are) 2 different color hues. I tried to show this on the 4th photo of both rugs next to each other. I am writing this just in case someone has a humongous room and is wanting to display these side by side. It was only displayed for 2 months in my kitchen before we moved to NC. It is hollow and hand formed with the classic Boleslawiec clay method. There are air vents in each of the handles that were created to prevent it from bursting during the glazing process when the heat in the hollow core expands the air within. This piece is 1st quality...not a 2nd or 3rd choice quality. This colorful, beautiful rolling pin is not only an excellent addition to any bake ware collection but also a one-of-a-kind addition to a Polish pottery collection. If you are familiar with this beautiful pottery, you know how hard it is to come by unique pieces (not the usual plate or bowl) but it's even harder to find them in a unique design (not the same old peacock pattern). If you own any polish pottery, you already know how valuable it is and that even small condiment bowl will cost not less than $10 even in discount stores as Ross. Unique items that are hard to find are obviously more expensive and absolutely impossible to find here in the States. However, they are well worth the price as they are very versatile and undeniably beautiful pieces to use every day in the kitchen! I purchased this pin during a weekend-long trip to Boleslawiec. After visiting not 1 but 15 different stores, this rolling pin was the only one I saw that entire weekend. Therefore it was not a surprise to me to learn its cost. However I felt like this was such a nice pattern and such a one-of-a-kind item that it DESERVED the price tag! Note for beginners: Polish Pottery is lead & cadmium-free. The print that decorate the pieces is layered under the hard, scratch-resistant glaze so it won't wear off with use. Polish pottery is not merely decorative as it is freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. It is very easy to clean and durable as well as beautiful. All patterns can be mixed and matched and look wonderful with all tableware decor styles. Each piece is hand-painted and therefore small imperfections and flaws may be expected in each and every piece. However, that's part of their unique and handcrafted character which makes each piece special. Price is firm.
