<![CDATA[When I first made the post I was so distraught that I was lucky no one posted a video of me on YouTube. Because I work at night I sleep during the day. I made my kids breakfast at about 8:30 am and that was the last time I seen her. At about 10:30 am the kids wake me up to tell me that she's missing. I grabbed my keys and hit the road. Yes, I went looking for her in my black pajama's with pink polka dots and the wildest hair on a person in a civilized society. While driving I had to pull over a few times because I couldn't see thru all the tears. I had no tissue and everyone knows what happens when you start crying uncontrollably, your nose starts to run. Well, that didn't stop me from yelling out the window, "Annnika". When I decided to go home at 12:30, trying to make phone calls to get family to help me became too arduous for me and for my recipients to understand. As soon as my husband came home I had him take me to go and make copies of the flyer I had made. The woman at the UPS Store asked, "How much copies?" and I told her, "500." My husband almost had a fit. He told her, "50." I started to cry all over again. I had all intentions of not going to work at any of my jobs, so I could look for her and post flyers all over the island. When he got back to the car with a 100 flyers I still was not satisfied. As we were driving around we got a call from the Humane Society that our dog was found and dropped off at the VCA Hospital in Kaneohe. I did not even bother to ask for the number before I hung up. We made it to the hospital and we just missed the family who dropped her off. Luckily, they left some contact information. Contacting all 82 contacts in my phone to let them know that she was found would have to wait. The Rice Family had welcomed Anika into their home after she started to follow them while jogging at around 9:30 am this morning. They fed her and gave her a bath on top of trying to take her to a Vet Office (which was closed and next to the UPS Store) in Kailua and then driving all the way to Kaneohe. We may just rename Anika to Happy Ending, because we now have Our Happy Ending. Special Thanks to The Rice Family for all that you have done. I really do wish you would have accepted any kind of reward even if you didn't want the money. Thank you to everyone at the VCA Hospital in Kaneohe for ensuring Anika's safety till we got there. Thank you to everyone who emailed and shared their advice and sympathy while I was preparing for the worst. Last ,but not least Thank you to my family and all 82 contacts who tried to be patient in deciphering my voice and text conversations. I hope that everyone gets to find their Happy Ending too. There really are good people out there. We're looking for a lost yellow Lab named Anika. She is 8 months old and weighs about 50 lbs. She may have runaway from our home in Kailua on January 3, 2003 between the hours of 8:00 am-11:00 am. Anika is the most friendly, happy go lucky dog ever. This poor thing has a right eye that's sewn shut and an injury to the neck, maybe from a fight. A vet assistant friend of mine had him scanned for a chip, but found none. She also told me that this cat is spayed. He is now home with me, but I cannot keep him since I live in a no-pet studio. If this is your baby, please contact me.
