<![CDATA[For $52.04 I made my own SO2 eliminator - And It Works! This simple unit uses a fish tank air pump to push air through bubble stones immersed in a baking soda/water mixture. My pump unit has a variable output knob so that I can adjust its air flow depending on the SO2 levels and how much 'bubble noise' I care to put up with, and a dual air output that I split again to run four 6 inch air stones. YES, there IS a noise factor - but I am SO2 free so I don't care about the background bubbling! (About as much noise as a conventional air conditioner but with less energy usage) Just go to the pet store and buy a good powerful air pump, some air tubing, and a few air stones. When you get home snag a 5 gallon bucket, put in 1 cup Arm-n-hammer (sodium bicarbonate), and 2 gallons of water, mix until completely dissolved, drop in your stones and be SO2 free in 30 mins. Do not cheat yourself and get a cheap pump and few air stones, it will not work as well and you will be upset. The key is to pass as much air through the system in as short a time as possible, and to do that you need a powerful pump. My pump cost $24.95, and was the highest capacity pump in the store, and came to about half of my setup cost. I am using this in my room only - since I am allergic to SO2, and keep my door mostly closed. As long as the air in my room doesn’t get mixed with outside air I can stay SO2 free 24/7. I periodically check the PH level of my water and change it about once a week. You may need to change the water more or less frequently depending on your local SO2 levels. And just for looks I tossed a thin sarong over the whole setup to hide it from sight, as well as to catch any moisture that may be carried up by the bubbles into the air. This system works because as the air is passed into the water it is in the form of tiny bubbles - bringing the most 'air surface' into contact with the water. The sodium bicarbonate in the water then reacts with the SO2 and turns it into sodium bisulfate, where it gets left behind in the water as the air escapes. Personally, I have bought higher priced setups that always failed on me, and after examining the way they were built and figuring out the physics of how they worked, I decided to go cheap and do it myself. Mathew is a bright young boy who may or may not live to be a adult. Mathew pretends to be a BOUNTY HUNTER all the time with hand cuffs and a bounty bag. My fear is that if Mathew were to have a large vein break in his head and face life threating surgery that his one dream in life would have not come true and that is to Meet DOG. Mathew takes daily seizure meds but still sometimes has seizures. I too have a different neurological condition and my 18 month old son has same condition as mathew and that is only neurological only Mathew has cerebral palsy on top of everything else. My 3 year old daughter is so far healthy. Mathew jokes all the time when DOG comes he will help him on a Bounty as he has mace and cuffs and the whole bit. ( I know he can not really do that).I am asking and praying somebody out there can help me have DOG spend at least 15 minutes or more to get to meet my son. I fear one day Mathew could pass on and that scares me to death. His neuro condition is not considered terminal, but if he had a bad seizure and faced that life threatening seizure surgery he could be taken from us. Please somebody out there help us? All the places that make kids wishes come true are only for terminal kids and Mathew does not fall into that category, I do not want Mathew to miss meeting his idol. CAN PEOPLE HELP ME CONTACT ALL RADIO STATIONS IN Hawaii AND THE COLORADO SPRINGS AREA AND ALL NEWSPAPERS ABOUT DOG MEETING MY SON? I have a 6 year old with cerebral palsy and a neurological condition. His biggest wish is to Meet DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER.I contacted Bobby Brown who DOG works with alot when in Colorado Springs and surrounding area, and they said they would pass along message to DOG but that DOG gets several hundred people asking to meet him, and he very often works with Make A Wish Foundation to meet kids, but Mathew is not considered terminal which is great but he does have the potential to die if certain things resulted due to his neurological condition. Mathew is a bright young boy who may or may not live to be a adult. Mathew pretends to be a BOUNTY HUNTER all the time with hand cuffs and a bounty bag. My fear is that if Mathew were to have a large vein break in his head and face life threating surgery that his one dream in life would have not come true and that is to Meet DOG. Mathew takes daily seizure meds but still sometimes has seizures. I too have a different neurological condition and my 18 month old son has same condition as mathew and that is only neurological only Mathew has cerebral palsy on top of everything else. My 3 year old daughter is so far healthy. Mathew jokes all the time when DOG comes he will help him on a Bounty as he has mace and cuffs and the whole bit. ( I know he can not really do that).I am asking and praying somebody out there can help me have DOG spend at least 15 minutes or more to get to meet my son. I fear one day Mathew could pass on and that scares me to death. His neuro condition is not considered terminal, but if he had a bad seizure and faced that life threatening seizure surgery he could be taken from us. Please somebody out there help us? All the places that make kids wishes come true are only for terminal kids and Mathew does not fall into that category, I do not want Mathew to miss meeting his idol. I also fear that I may not make it to see my son meet his idol as my neurological condition is different than Mathew's and his brothers Owen's, and I have parts of my brain that have leisions that could cause me to have a life threatening seizure, and I live for my kids and to make their dreams come true is something I strive for. Our family never has much to look forward to or be hopefull for but meeting DOG and team would heal not only Mathew's sould but would bring peace to the family. These exercises are designed to enhance inter-agency cooperation from Federal, State, and County agencies in response to a terrorist incident. Exercise scenarios will focus specifically on incidents occurring in Maui County. FIELD EXERCISES WILL TAKE PLACE AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE ISLAND IN THE AREA OF MAKENA ON DECEMBER 9, AT THE QUEEN KAAHUMANU MALL EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING AND IN THE AREA OF THE LAHAINA HARBOR WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10. MAUI RESIDENTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT ACTIVITIES INVOLVING NATIONAL GUARD EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES AND PERSONNEL IN PROTECTIVE SUITS WILL BE PART OF THIS EXERCISE.
