Now I'm looking into recumbent bikes because they are easier on your back. Anybody want to trade a decent recumbent? Frame manufactured approx. 1985 Bike has been re-painted. Original Bianchi imprint on frame under seat. This was the top of the line Japanese production version, just below the hand-made Italian bikes. It uses Japan's Ishiwata double-butted chrome moly frame tubes. It is very lively and responsive, but still strong enough for a 220lb rider. The bike has been updated with the following components: 1: 700c aluminum rims with stainless steel spokes and aluminum hubs. 2. Full Suntour Superbe Pro gearshift, crankset, and freewheel (Japan's absolute top of the line when made, comparable to the best Italian components, but not indexed shifting) 3. 12-24 tooth sprockets on 7 speed freewheel, 42-52 front 3. Modolo "Speedy" brakes 4. Fitted for cycle computer, but computer has long since died. 5. Handle bar stem is 110mm long to accommodate my long torso. You may need a shorter stem. 6. Zefal frame pump. 7. If it fits you, the only thing it really needs is new toe clip straps or replace the pedals with clipless pedals. 8. Randonneur type handlebars with foam grips, just because I like the way they feel. New Nashbar saddle and new tires added in 2002, but not ridden much since. He (we) will be temporarily removing the rear wheel and connecting it to a small DC motor, Gilligans Island style, to generate power. The only reason it has to be a "ten speed" road bike style bicycle is that he wants to see how the motor generates power differently in different gears, and (I think the main reason) he also wants to also ride it when he's ready for the next size up, and apparently "vintage" road bikes are cool right now.
