I do a weekly blog of music reviews of music I think shows a spirit of personality and individuality. I'll review any album post-1980 from a well-known band to an unknown. Send me your stuff or a link. Let me write a review for you, you share it with your friends - we both win. My interest is not in chopping up the music but finding something interesting about it to get others interested. My goal is to show the diversity of rock/metal and share under-heard and interesting music that has something to say. And, I know I'm not a "big name" but when you've got a small band some recognition is better than nothing. I'm a bassist myself. I know. <![CDATA[Hey guys, I'm looking to either join an already established group or start soemthing new. I am hard-working and would want to get playing shows ASAP. My biggest influences are the Scandinavian Bands: In Flames, Opeth, Dark Tranquility, Emperor, Ihsahn, and then others like The Mars Volta, Alice in Chains, and Mastodon, etc. But when it gets down to it, I'm looking to do something accessible to a large audience. Like heavy, technical parts, but with recognizable melodies and actually chord work instead of 1-pitch Drop-D breakdowns. Make the songs a little proggish perhaps, but maintain generally consistent part writing. No long, drawn-out obscure passages that don't really lead anywhere either. You know that's boring. This might sound sellout-lame to play, but isnt actually having an audience the reason we picked up an instrument in the first place? I've got a good grounding in theory, above average chops (though I by no means have an interest in shredding endlessly), and can write parts for instruments other than guitar. They have clearly been cared for, but they aren’t tagged or microchipped. No one has responded to the many efforts to find the owners, so we need to find a good home for them. We would keep them but we have 2 dogs of our own. They’re bright boys, super friendly, and small. We taught them both to sit and lie down in a matter of minutes, they are both house trained and crate trained. Obviously we have no history on these dogs but the vet says they are young, especially the red/brown one. She thought the black and white one may be a shiatsu mix and had no idea on the other. I can tell you they are very playful, love to fetch and are NOT neutered. However, any person looking to adopt the black & white one should know he is an alpha male and should not be placed in a home with another alpha male dog in it. He gets long famously with the red one though...he's not alpha. Hopefully we can place them in great homes very soon. Must be picked up in Katy.]]>

I did receive a call on Sunday from a girl telling me a guy brought her into Buchanan’s Nursery on 11th. He walked in asking if she belonged to anybody. She said he was a taller gentleman, maybe between the ages of 16-25 and said he found her walking on the street. A customer told him to Doug’s Barber down the road because the owner knows a lot of people. I have checked with Doug’s Barber Shop and the guy with my little dog never checked with him. <![CDATA[this lil' girl showed up at my house almost 2 weeks ago & she needs a home. she is very sweet, she likes to walk on a leash, snuggle in bed under the blanket, sit in your lap & even sneak a puppy kiss when she can. she is house trained she plays well with my other dogs & my cats too. they all play together. BUT i can't keep her as i have pit bulls and a chihuahua too. i am at my limit per ordinance. she is not crazy about small children as i had someone who wanted to take her but she had young children & she barked at them. she is a standard size chihuahua. she is petite about 7 pounds max and is very cute in person the picture was taken on my cell phone. iu wouls guess her at about a year old with good teeth. she is not a lil' purse size or the size that sits and shakes non stop. she is a great dog. whoever had her i think was mean because at 1st she was skiddish but has came around nicely. i have to find her a home quick. she is healthy in appearance her coat shines and she is clean looking. call 281-802-7328 ask for Sheila]]>
