I'm interested in finding a group to run Memorial Park with on Sunday mornings. This will be the 'long' run of the week. I'd like for it to be 6 miles in September, 9 miles in October and likely 12 in November. Nothing too aggressive .... 9-10 minute miles is fine. My preferred start time is 8 a.m. (or earlier) because I have to be at work by Noon. I have had a decent summer of cardio - inside - and I'm anxious to take it back to where it counts - OUTSIDE. We do have 2 birds which have been adopted one is an Amazon female that had been very abused priorto the lady getting her that we adopted her from 2 years ago, and one is a wonderful macaw who has never had anything but love in her life, but whose family decided they could no longer care for her after 14 years and that she would be happier in home where she could get more attention. Both birds get regular veterinary care, my daughter is a nurse at a pet and bird hospital. We are well aware of the amount of time involved with caring for the birds, and the diets they need. We where going to purchase a baby from a breeder but then decided that it might be better to adopt another this way, as we are well aware sometimes peoples lives change unexpectedly and no mater how much they love their birds they can not afford to care for them, or can no longer devote the time they want to. He's been around kids and does well! He's about 4 months old - he has had some puppy shots and has begun to take heart worm medication. <![CDATA[Smokey has been an awesome part of our family for 4 years. He has always had a great "Rag Doll" demeanor. You can pick him up and put him down and throw him over your shoulder like a rag doll. He is Declawed in the Front & Neutered from a previous owner. He has always required a very tidy litter box, and this is the reason we are getting rid of him. We can not scoop the litter box twice a day. We have tried using an automatic litter box, but he never got acclimated to it, and after working with him for 1.5-2 hours a day for the past month, trying to get him to use it, his time is up. You have one hour to contact me before he is put down. If you're willing to scoop, feed, and water, he'll give you a great companion. PS: He loves the ladies, but not so much men.]]>

Other players should be fairly easy to identify if you are missing elements within a group that is trying to establish something similar. In other words if you already have a band and are just missing a lead guitarist, we need to compare notes. If you are a band looking for the missing element, as a first preference I really would prefer a group in the early stages of development. History has taught me that established groups have this pre concieved idea that a replacement player needs to be a cookie cutter image of the person leaving the band, 9 times out of 10 it never works out and the band implodes shortly after. I will consider a working and established group to join. But that group will need to be realistic that the guy coming into the group is very likely going to play different than the one leaving. I do not want to classify what I envision as a bands target material. I see the target material being a well rounded song selection. I would envision including everything from modern country, rock, classic rock, blues, red dirt to the dance party tunes. My vision of the business plan: Play 2 to 6 shows a month and only on weekends. Have some fun and throw a few bucks in our pockets Eventually target the corporate market but expect to hit the bar scene as a first stage of band development If something more comes out of it such as a CD of original material, great.... But that really needs to be a secondary stage to ensure all band members are going to stick. Try to keep the band to no more than 5 members for financial return reasons My expectations up front: No drama and I mean none. This thing is for fun and I am not turning this into a soap opera Reliable especially once bookings are established Can dedicate one day a week (Saturday or Sunday afternoon) to developing material as a band No drugs I have a zero tolerance policy You have a minimum of your own gear for your personal rig. I am missing a few elements for P/A gear. If you have some of these pieces it would be an added bonus to keep me from having to buy it. Willing to drive to within about 1 hour radius of downtown Houston for gigs Willing to split the cost of a practice location assuming a central location for all members can’t be readily identified at zero cost Willing to split the cost of studio fees, marketing efforts and merchandising if we choose to consider merchandising as part of the project. <![CDATA[We found our latest rescue dog (Pinky) on the side of the 45N. Thankfully, she jumped straight into my car when I pulled over to make sure she didn't cause an accident. Pinky is a 1.5 year old Wire-haired Terrier mix and brindle in color. She is a healthy fully vaccinated (Rabies, Bordatella, Distemper, Lepto), heartworm negative and parasite free. She is fully grown at 10.5 lbs but needs to gain another 2 lbs to be her ideal weight. Pinky has a healthy appetite and shows no food aggression around our own dogs. She is very sweet and well behaved. Pinky is 100% potty trained and crate trained - she doesnt bark at all in her crate1 She gets along great with other dogs. Pinky is definitely not an alpha dog and she likes to play with her foster dog brother. Most of all, Pinky is very grateful to have shelter and vetcare. She likes to be picked up and hugged. She will be spayed on Thursday September 9 and ready to move to her new home the next day. There is a $70.36 adoption fee which goes to cover her vaccinations and part of her spay operation. We are currently auditioning for a faith-filled, passionate, positive, talented, creative, energetic, motivated and strong spirited Bass Player, that is willing to volunteer their time to practice and play in a growing Christian Band/Music Ministry. By placing the Lord first in our lives we are trying to reach out to all walks of life spreading the word, sharing experiences, helping one another, sharing positive messages, and taking music to another level to touch and save many lives. We don't want to keep him tied up all the time, so finding him a new home seems like the best solution for us and him. I have always called him Puppy, but the name is far off because he is huge. Puppy is a wonderful dog. He is gentle and obediant. Great with kids- we have a 3 year old that he is awesome with. He is an alert dog (will bark when an unknown vehicle or person comes to your home), not a guard dog so do not expect him to protect your home for you. He has never bitten and has an excellent, happy demeanor. He is pretty much a huge puppy. We want him to go to a home with room for him to roam and preferably to someone with another dog for him to play with. He has had his puppy shots, but is not up to date on his shots. He is not neutered. He is very clean and healthy. You will not find a happier dog anywhere. He's the perfect balance of energetic and relaxed.
