New independent television show about Houston is looking for video submissions for upcoming episodes!

These short segments must be under one minute - short and to the point - but also give viewers interesting insights into local culture, events, people and places. For example, do you know of any restaurants around town that are unique for some reason? How about a particular ongoing event? A Houstonian that is worth profiling? The only catch is that it must be interesting and must be local.

It is encouraged that the videos provide a slant on your city that is unique to you! Can you think of anything that might be worthwhile sharing with others? You decide!

So what’s in it for you? If your video is featured on the show, you’ll receive $150! And if we establish a good relationship we can negotiate better deals later. Not to mention the screen credit in which your work will be exposed on the show.

We are looking to build relationships with local filmmakers and production companies, and look forward to seeing what Houstonians have to say about their city!
There are no “official” technical requirements, but in order to assure quality video and sound, the following is recommended:

1. High-quality video camera, preferably with 3 CCD’s.
2. A tripod to decrease shakiness.
3. A shotgun or wireless microphone. While it’s alright to capture sound in whichever way you choose, please note that submissions with unusable sound quality cannot be accepted.

Interested? Have more questions? Contact blockcast@gmail.com.

We look forward to working with you!
