The shop has a fully equipped welding and metal fabrication studio, with electric and gas welding set-ups, and a wide variety of hand and power tools for metal working that students use to create their own custom bikes and other creations. The shop is located at 3615 Sauer Street, Houston, Texas 77004. About this Position: The Chopper Shop Assistant?s primary role is to participate in fulfilling the mission of Workshop Houston: to provide youth with creative, technical, and educational resources. As Chopper Shop Assistant, you will help the Chopper Shop Coordinator run the Chopper Shop program. Your roll will include teaching students metal working, bike repair and other shop-related skills, and motivating them to use their creativity with these skills in their projects. You will also help with daily shop set-up and clean-up. On a broader level, you will be expected to act as a role model and a mentor to students in the program.
