Artists on the Rise © Talent Contest is being organized by Yonder Studios, LLC. Auditions will be held at Yonder Studios every Monday 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. for 9 weeks beginning June 28, 2010 through August 23, 2010. Bands or artist whose schedule conflicts with Monday’s live auditions we encourage them to visit us Tuesday through Friday 7pm to 11pm they can audition live for 15 minutes as long as the auditorium is available, they are also encouraged to leave a demo CD or EPK . (Electronic Press Kit). There will be a showcase every Saturday 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. for 8 weeks beginning July 10, 2010 and will showcase 3 artists/bands presenting all original pieces. Doors will open to the public at 8:30 p.m. A cover charge will be implemented to gain entrance to the Event, $5 in Advanced, $7 at the door. The contestants will be required to sell Event tickets as part of the judging criteria. There will be 24 artists/bands in all for a total of 8 weeks, and the 8 week shows are considered the Preliminary Contest Dates. Judges will be present during these shows and will choose 1 winner every Saturday showcase via judging criteria. <![CDATA[hello there. good question. there are alot of little differences but i am going to answer what i think you are asking about. price. yes that is usually differant. but it goes both ways. some times the price is cheaper at home because they dont have over head expenses, but on the other hand the artist that does it on the side is doing it so that they can pocket more money and give less up to the shop, if they drop there prices too much they are making the same amount of money for more trouble. so then whats the point. the thing to remember is that no one every paid too much for a tattoo they loved. but they have been ripped off , even if its only 35 bucks , if the tattoo is bad. or worse dirty. which brings me to my next point of difference. Cleanliness. Most shops are very much superior in cleanliness. there are certain standards that they have to have to be approved by the health department. although no there are no certifications whatso ever for tattoo artists in florida. also shope usually can more easily afford to have sterilization equipment also. and the fact that they do more buisness do to walk in customers means that they are better practiced artists (although alot of times not as good an artist). which brings me to the tattoo artists themselves. some are jerks. some can't draw. some only try to do good work on designs they like or want to do. and some are very good. the best are the ones that remember one simple fact...THEY WORK FOR YOU! not the other way around. artists in shops tend to forget that fact as people line up for their work. the at home artist tends to be more humble although NOT all the time, some 'scratch' artists are just as cocky and untalented. CHECK THEIR PORTFOLIO. any artist has one. if theirs was 'stolen or lost' get out of there. if the pictures are blurry then they dont count. look at the faces and points in a design. those are where the most mistakes are made and it helps you to tell the differance between a tattoo and a good tattoo. Also be affraid of anyone who brags about doing freehand work. that is alot of times do to the fact that they dont know how to create a stencil or they dont care if it is exactly like what you want or mostly like what you want. they are working for the money not the art. most of the time you get what you pay for. half of my buisness is covering up 'free tattoos'. be careful. now, i have listed many advantages to going to tattoo shop. i worked in a tattoo shop only for 10 years. i now work at home from my home tattoo shop. which is a sterile room set up only for tattoo work. i also have an autoclave ( a machine that sterilizes equipment and needles), i have professional commercial grade equipment, NOTHING HOMEMADE OR RIGGED, and a healthy portfolio and professional references. most of the time my prices are cheaper then shop prices but sometimes there not. and thats fine with me. i am an artist and thats what i charge for my art. if you want some one else'w work on you, pay them what they charge. you want to hire them, not their cheapest work..you want their best work. i hope i have helped some. if you have any other questions, feel free to contact me for info, free estimates and good advice EMAIL CALL OR TEXT 904 294 5393 thanks and best of luck ]]>

What I really need is an industrial area with lots of pipes, ducts, electrical conduits, steel, grates, catwalks, machinery, etc. Think "JEA pumping station" (I already tried; they said NO, and they keep the gate padlocked. Damnit), or "manufacturing plant". It can be either interior or exterior. The shoot will only be about 10-15 minutes, so I can do guerilla-style 'shoot it and run' if I have to.
