I am a seasoned professional in the Entertainment Industry, having more than 20 years of combined training in Classical Voice, Guitar and Piano and nearly just as much personal professional experience on Broadway and in the Music Industry.

I specialize in developing tonal recognition, proper pronunciation and pitch training in children and young adults (6-26) and am capable of training for styles as far reaching as R&B, Hip-hop, Heavy Metal, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, and Broadway.

All lessons are recorded and will take place in my home studio, students will always leave with a CD or mp3 of
their session, as well as their required vocal exercises until the next session.
There will be some required texts for certain students, which are intended to help these students with their
ability to read music and for their ability to recognize pitches-- I can provide temporary copies of the texts if necessary.

WARNING: THERE ARE NO COACHES OUT THERE LIKE ME. I DO NOT PRESCRIBE TO ANY OF THE CLOSED MINDED TEACHING METHODS MOST TEACHERS USE. I USE TECHNIQUES DRAWN FROM ALL TRADITIONAL METHODS AS WELL AS ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR COMMERCIAL SINGERS.

Prior to the first lesson, Students will be asked to email a list of their 5 favorite songs, these must be reasonably within their vocal range. This is a tool for me to get to know the student and to understand the direction they wish to take as a musician.

-------------

Each half hour session will include:

> 10 minutes for vocal warm-up and vocal technique training
> 10 minutes to recap on the previous week's song
> 5 minutes for pitch training
> 5 minutes of preparation on the next week's vocal assignments.

---I recommend Hour long sessions which will increase the time spent in each of the last three parts as well as add a few minutes to work on STAGE PRESENCE.

Currently, Vocal Sessions will cost:

Young Adults (10-26): $45 for a half hour and $70 for an hour.
Youths (6-10): $30 for a half hour and $50 for an hour.

THIS IS A DEAL!! MOST MANHATTAN VOCAL COACHES CLOSE TO MY LEVEL OF EXPERTISE WOULD BE CHARGING A FLAT RATE OF $135 PER HOUR. I UNDERSTAND THE ECONOMY IS LOW, MUSIC SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SUFFER... THUS MY RATES.

The best players are often the best teachers, after all, we have studied long and hard to learn to play the way we play. I have played in bands in Germany, New York, SanFrancisco, and Atlanta. And I also still practice 5-8 hours a day.
I have learned all the styles, form Led Zeppelin to Joaquin Rodrigo, From Pink Floyd to the music of The Phantom, From the music of Chick Corea to Weather Report, And from all styles of rock to classical, POP, country, Jazz, And Folk.

If your serious about learning to play the guitar, then you should find out why 30-40 hours a week of students have studied guitar, music theory and songwriting with me.

Work on picking and speed and most importantly touch and feel.
Work on Finger picking as well, learn to use all 5 fingers on your right hand. or use the pick and 3 fingers, with me you WILL use your pinky or little finger, on both hands.
Learn to play in rhythm, with a metronome.
Learn to read song charts, and notation and tab.
Learn to work on speed, strength, stamina, play songs you like all the way from beginning to end.
Some students pay in advance, but I can also work with students on a pay as you go basis as well,
Learn about effects and recording software, amps and songbooks.
I don’t just show you songs, I teach you to teach yourself and begin to become musically independent.

Almost all of my students learn bar chords and how to use them in songs they want to play in the first hour of lesson time.

Almost all of my students begin in the first lesson with songs like Little Wing and Georgia On My Mind, and Stairway To Heaven, with the right chords in sheet music form. Once you learn how to do that you can begin to take yourself through songbooks, if you learn how to use the printed music, there is a vast amount of it available everywhere.

Almost all of my students are reading melodies using real notation by the 4th or 5th lesson. Reading melodies they like and want to play. Although my students know how to use tab, Notation is the best way and they all prefer it, once they know the difference. Like the Stairway To Heaven Solo, or any of the beautiful Spanish melodies from J.Rodrigo, or blues , jazz, rock and roll, once you can read, you can read anything in print on your own.

All of my students learn rhythm skills playing scales and songs with a metronome, so you learn how to play in time, as you develop stronger rhythm skills you can play better alone or with other people.

All of my students learn the Music Theory. What Time Signatures are and mean, Scales and scale harmonization. Chord progressions and playing through the chord changes.
All of these and more are the fundamentals you will begin to work on in the first 4-5 hours of lessons with me.

You WILL see tangible results in the first hour.

You can study with me LIVE,via Skype and Web Cam internet conferencing. it's just like being in the studio in Nashville with me.
We can do a FREE web cam meeting with me so you can see for yourself how well it works, and how convenient it is, from your home or office, NO TRAVEL with your guitar across town or having a stranger in your home, parents can easily supervise lessons as well.
Learn the music of your favorite bands and styles beginning even in the first lesson. Learn bar chords in you first lesson, and how to move them around like any pro, learn how to write music and chord charts for your own songs. Develop your songwriting skills to new heights. Learn how to develop strong lead and melody playing. Realize greater confidence so you can perform for others publicly or privately.
Learn all about theory and how to build simple to complex chord progressions.
LEARN ALL OF YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC WITH A VERY PATIENT COACH; I WILL TAKE YOU THROUGHT EVERY ASPECT OF LEARNING TO PLAY YOUR INSTRUMENT. I have a great studio to teach in, and have many students drive across town to study in it., I use a computer with 2 screens for music, print outs, and recording your playing, as well as a program with music for you to play along with. I have thousands of songs to use.
My style of teaching will definitely accelerate your growth. I can also help you with guitar recommendations and guitar set ups to make playing your guitar more enjoyable, and other equipment as well, effects, and MIDI, amplifier and recording and computer recommendations.
Hi!

I'm a very popular guitar / bass / voice / keyboard & music teacher in Jacksonville, with lots of references from all ages and genres. Most of my students are beginners and intermediates. My prices are already among the lowest available, and if you find a better deal, I'll match it if I possibly can. I also have more teaching experience than about anyone in Jacksonville, so it's easy for me to teach what YOU want to play, regardless of your genre. Below are just a few samples of the music I've written. I have 35 years experience teaching guitar and I am professionally trained. Many students tell me they learn more in one month than they have with other teachers they have tried.

I teach advanced students too, and I have a great studio, with lots of cool tools for recording and writing notation or tab. I will also help you to avoid and correct many lasting errors in your technique, that are routinely overlooked by less experienced teachers. All materials and services are included. Gift certificates are available. Flexible scheduling. No long-term contracts.

I also teach songwriting and advanced music theory for all levels of guitar, bass, keyboard and voice. I have placed students in advanced local magnet school programs for classical guitar. I have written hundreds of songs, in every style that you can imagine... and then some! If you like, I can teach you how.

Every student is totally different. Whether you are on the fast-track or prefer to take your time. Whether you're younger, older or somewhere in between. My experience makes it so easy to work with you or your kids to create an individual program that will help you reach your goals. I routinely draw students from as far away as the Beaches, St. Augustine, Marietta, and South Georgia.

Whether you are serious or would like to play for fun, whether you prefer electric, accoustic, rock, alternative, thrash, metal, classical, jazz, blues, country or anything else. I have taught all ages and all styles of music for years, so I can definitely deliver for you! I have GREAT prices too!!

I'm fortunate to have many dedicated students, earned through years of dedication to teaching at a great price. I believe I can help you to learn quickly and as well as you are capable, but most of all, to have fun doing it. Please call me at (904)388-2521 to discuss the possibilities.
Thanks for reading my post!

Ok, Before you click on a sample and bash me for it, please consider this: My style is very broad, and yours may be too. Even so, there will be differences in what you hear and what you hoped for. The few links below don't even scratch the surface of genres that I write in. Each song is just one example of many different styles or directions I can go for you. You may not hear the genre, sound or techniques you want to learn because there are just too many for me to sample, and there's always someone better at it than either you or I. But for the typical student, I have plenty of experience and references in about any genre you might like, historically. I'll update these from time to time for you, so stop by again and see if your genre is sampled. If you're still not sure if I can teach your style then please check out the "Most Popular Genres & Artists fom Students" for more. Still not sure? Call me at (904) 388-2521 and let's talk. If I get enough requests, I'll write a sample song in that genre. If we still don't match then you're probably a very advanced player in a certain genre already, and I understand how hard it is to get really specialized lessons, so no hard feelings. But I'd still like to hear you play and maybe we can jam out sometime. I'll try to refer you to someone who can help you if I can't!

These are some of my most recent copyrighted works, so these are hot off the press for your listening pleasure. These are NOT for commercial uses (unless you'd like to license one!). I wrote, performed and produced these in my studio.

Blueser - (c) 2009 By popular request: This is an electric guitar blues/rock-shred hybrid that I wrote recently for a guitar blues solo competetion. No, it's not straight speed-metal for you mega-rockers out there, but I play and teach all forms of rock all of the time, including speed-metal, and I'm sure you can tell from this sample. I chose this one for you blues and/or rocker people to hear because it combines some electric shred and blues guitar licks together in the lead guitar track. So, It covers a pretty big piece of rock-n-blues in one song for ya.

This Is Not Bluegrass - (c) 2010 This is an accoustic guitar theme with bass and virtual drums. It's sort-of an Americana style with a quick tempo. What style would you call it? I need a better title for it too... Any ideas? Let me know, I'll bounce your idea off of my students and go with what they think!

Free Spirit - (c) 2009 This is a basic accoustic guitar theme with added virtual symphonic instrumentation. Kind of a western theme... sortof. What style would you say it is?

Relaxation - (c) 2010 Sort of an ambient theme with a relaxing tinge. Two acoustic guitars, bass, virtual percussive instruments. If you run this one in a loop it creates a nice relaxing mood!

Magical Musicbox - (c) 2009 A light acoustic guitar ensemble. Mid-tempo with around five guitar and bass tracks.

Perseverance - (c) 2009 Full virtual symphony for those classical synthesizer players and MIDI music composers out there. No guitars (sorry). Strict classical style, ultra down tempo for serious film/tv. A work in process.

Tropical Smiles - (c) 2009 This is a speculative piece for an international production company looking for something "fun, whimsical and silly". No guitars in this one. It's a good example of a simple MIDI production for you MIDI studio buffs out there.

More to come... Stay tuned!

Didn't hear a sample that you like? Call me to request a genre. If I get enough requests for it I'll write one and post it for you guys.

Bob is a Great Instructor. I've been playing guitar for about 7 years on and off, mostly teaching myself. Despite the time, I've remained a beginner / intermediate player throughout the better part of the last decade. I've tried three guitar instructors prior to Bob with little to no useful results. This may sound a bit of an excessive accolade, but Bob has been a great instructor. I've been going to him for a couple of months now, and he's been able to quickly identify weak points in my playing and work to correct them. He's not one of those instructors who can *just* play - he can actually teach the instrument, and it's very clear that he understands the underlying theory and, more importantly, he can clearly, methodically explain it. If you're a guitar player of any level wanting to advance your skills, I would *highly* recommend you take a lesson from him.

Dear Bob, I want to offer my recommendation to anyone considering you for lessons in guitar, either acoustic or electric. Your abilities, not only as an accomplished musician yourself, but as a teacher, are truly extraordinary, and I am incredibly blessed to have found you here in the Jacksonville area. So please, if there is ever anyone who I can speak to on your behalf, I hope you will allow me. I would love to spread the word of your fantastic abilities as a music teacher!

With the greatest sincerity and appreciation,

Bob is a master teacher! I spent a couple hours weeding through people that advertised they provide guitar lessons. I was searching for someone that I could relate to and learn quickly from while working in Florida. By some stroke of luck…or Divine intervention…I found Bob’s entry. This guy was different than the others. I told him my situation, he understood completely. I can’t recommend Bob enough to anyone who is interested in taking lessons in guitar, keyboard or voice. He has a knack of making you want to practice, want to be successful and feel confident that one day, in time….you will! Thanks Bob!

Student Mark is a former 50-something beginner visiting from Washington State, working in Jacksonville under a short-term government contract. So, he was on a fast-track program for learning guitar. He likes Accoustic gtr and lite-rock. Glad I was able to help you. Thanks Mark!... Now, get back to practicing!!

If you're looking for a cool, easily understandable teacher who will tirelessly work with you until you succeed, I highly recommend Bob Mann. I could not be happier with the results I have achieved so far. Even after the first few lessons my overall technique had improved greatly. Bob really has a knack for observing and identifying problems with the student's play style, and can always give you at least a few different ways to approach and resolve the issue. In all honesty, I cannot think of a better match than Bob.

-- Eric Barrier, Jacksonville, Fl.
Student Eric comes to me as a 19yo player of 4 1/2 years. He's been with me for several months now. Eric likes writing Ultra-fast metal shred licks, etc., and he also wants to make sure all the notes blend well together and work properly. Speed is great, but Eric understands that all the speed in the world won't cover up bad notes! Keep up the good work, Eric. You write great music, man. Thanks!

If its guitar, keyboard, voice or bass guitar, Bob will teach you everything you need to know. He's probably one of the most experienced music teachers around, and he's NOT expensive. I've been taking guitar lessons from him for about a year and a half. I travel from Folkston Georgia so there's no way its too far for anyone in Jacksonville.

14yo Student Dillon is serious about it. Dillon came to me as a totally green beginner. But now he likes to do challenging projects, from rock to classical guitar and music reading, to Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, or speed-metal, with a focus on songwriting and lead guitar in all genres. Now he's beginning to write solid songs and produce his own works in my studio. He's always searching for ground-breaking style and new approaches that re-invent the norms. Thanks, Dillon!

I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Bob for over a year now and have made significant progress. He tailored a program to fit what I wanted to learn at my pace. He has taught me everything from basic to advance techniques by helping me learn songs that I listen to and want to play. On top of having a tremendous portfolio of music he knows, he has an uncanny ability to break-down music he has never heard and teach me how to play it. I have thoroughly enjoyed not only his teaching but also his company and would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn or improve their guitar skills.

To whom this may concern, my name is Julie Bento, and my family (me, my husband, and our two sons) lives in Martin County, Fl.

My 11-year-old son took drum lessons from Dennis, and our 12-year-old took guitar. We were very pleased with the lessons and the professionalism Dennis showed.

The boys both felt like they were gaining something new at every lesson. In a very short amount of time, he had them both playing and enjoying it. Dennis was always on time and kept in communication with me, and if there was a need for additional lesson clarification, he always made himself available for it.

Dennis showed a lot of patience, as our drummer boy has ADHD and sometimes has a hard time staying focused, but Dennis made his lessons fun and worked to help him stay on track.

We have looked for a teacher to replace him since his move to Jacksonville, and we've had a hard time finding one so dedicated.

It is with great pleasure to provide a letter of recommendation for Dennis. My name is Christopher, and I’m currently a medical student at USF. Prior to attending medical school, I had the pleasure of learning acoustic guitar from Dennis. There were many great attributes to Dennis that truly impressed me and made our time not only productive, but enjoyable. Having never played guitar, Dennis had me up and running quite early in the game. His teaching style is not only effective, he accommodates the learners to their own needs and interests in music. I remember our first discussion, and one of the first things he asked me was what type of music do I enjoy. During the first lesson, he had picked out several songs from some of the artists that I enjoyed listening to, and he had me playing them in no time.

Many of the music stores I had gone to were, for one, way over-priced. They tended to force the music they wanted you to play, and for me, this would not keep me engaged in the learning process. Dennis provided excellent communication via email and phone, and he was always accommodating with my schedule. He would move times around whenever needed. What was unlike any of the music stores is, if we were really having fun, and in a groove with learning, he never stopped the clock, and on many occasions, he would stay an hour or so late to accommodate a great teaching moment.

The quality of his play, as far as I’m concerned, could not be surpassed by a music store that only spends 30 minutes, and when your time is up, its up! Dennis allows you -- as the learner -- to get right to the music and, more importantly, have fun while learning!

Without any reservation, I highly recommend Dennis as a well-learned musician...not only musically, but professionally. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with him and learn from him!

Don't trust your body and health to an amateur. Most trainers get "certified" over a 3-day weekend course. Some even 'buy' their certification over the internet. Yes - very scary, but true.

If you are SERIOUS about getting into shape safely, quickly and staying in shape for the rest of your life - then go here http://www.JoeyAtlas.com and get in touch with me via my 'CONTACT' page. I usually have a 3-4 week waiting list as I stay very busy, especially this time of year - but depending on your schedule, I may be able to get you started sooner.

I have a B.S. in Exercise Science and an M.S. in Exercise Physiology - the gold standard in the personal fitness business. And you can rest at ease knowing I have over 25 years of hands on experience working with people EXACTLY like you.

Don't be fooled into thinking you need all the weights and machines you see in the health club. they are totally unnecessary - and I can teach you how to workout no matter where you are or where you travel to. We start right at your home or office - and I'll bring some simple training tools if you don't have anything.
As you can imagine, I'm not the cheapest trainer in town. If you want the cheapest then just call one of the newbie, overnight certified trainers. There are dozens of them. But if you want a true pro - one who understands the human body better than a doctor - then get in touch with me. I want to help you.

I've been practicing and performing my passion, the art of Middle Eastern Dance, for 5 years now. Top 10 reasons I love bellydance:

1. It's fun. so so so so fun!

2. It's easy to get started. Learn just a few basic moves and you'll be dancing with confidence and style in no time.

3. It embraces all body types. You don't need to be a barbie doll. This is the only dance I know where having something to jiggle is a good thing :) Big, small, or in between, you'll look great (and sexy) doing this dance.

4. Great exercise. You can lose weight and tone up. It works your core, heart (aerobic), tummy, arms, butt, and everything else.

5. It helps you develop grace, poise, and coordination.

6. It helps gain confidence, self esteem and overcome shyness. Love your body! Feel comfortable and have fun on the dance floor and everywhere else.

7. It is an ancient art that allows you to learn about and connect to foreign cultures.

8. Popular everywhere. You can use it to enhance your social life. Looks great in night clubs. People are WOWED.

9. It is very musical. You can create the most stunning and cool-looking effects as you illustrate the music and bring it to life.

10. Very versatile and open to interpretation. You can make up your own moves and choreography, choose your costume style and music style ... make it your own!

I offer private and group lessons in my home or yours. (I understand - it can be intimidating! Some people prefer it if I come to them.) I charge $30/hr for private lesson, which is VERY reasonable. Shop around and you'll find instructors offering this for no less than $65/hr. For groups of at least 5 people, it's $12/person. Cash only please.

For those of you who aren't beginners, I offer intermediate and advanced classes as well, including performance, (stage presence), improv, and props such as veil and sword.

Thanks!

16yo Student Rosa comes to me as an awesome 5-6 year player who already writes incredible songs at her young age. She likes everything that is accoustic gtr. She challenges me with her desire to learn everything from advanced songwriting techniques, advanced music theory, classical guitar and music reading, to recording her projects in my studio. I never know what direction she will take me when she's here. I love the variety. Thank you, Rosa!

If you are just starting to learn guitar or have been trying on your own to learn and would like a little help on becoming a more well-rounded player then try some lessons with me. My name is Logan and I have been playing guitar for 8 years now. I play almost all styles of Music and I am willing to learn new songs that you would like me to teach as well. I play Acoustic and Electric guitar and I have guitars for you to play if you do not have one available. My lessons are shaped around each students needs. I will teach what you want to learn and I like to keep a relaxed and fun atmosphere when it comes to the lessons. A usual lesson will include theory and basic teachings at the beginning of our time and then will end with introducing a new song or portion of a song of your choice. If you would like to focus on theory or reading music better or specifically on songs in general we can make lessons work for you. I can come to you or you are always welcome here. The first lesson is free so you have nothing to lose. After that the lessons would be $15/hr or $10/half hr. I am available almost any day of the week so scheduling should not be a problem. I only need help like 3 times a week. If you have your own charging rates let me know otherwise I will pay you $40 a session. Thank you | I’m offering art lessons for children or teens at great prices. If you’ve recently spent much time looking for art lessons, then you know that the average price for one-on-one art lessons is anywhere from $75 to $150 per hour. Typically, the instructor will come to you, but you usually must provide all materials, and if your child spills a tin of paint—well, you know whose floor and table and chair it falls onto. Ouch!

We’re offering services of a different kind. The lessons may not be one-on-one, but there won’t be many students in each class (likely fewer than five) and I provide all materials. If your child takes a few lessons and decides they don’t like art as much as they thought, you won’t be stuck with $100+ worth of art materials you’ll never use! Even better, if someone has an accident with paint, it’s not your mess to clean up and not your belongings to be ruined, as the lessons are held at our location.

Each lesson will last one hour, with all materials provided for your child, in a safe, family-friendly environment. Your child will be taught at whatever skill level they are best suited to, from beginner to intermediate. At the moment, we offer several ‘courses’ which will be described below, but at a later date we will be expanding to cover a wide variety of disciplines, all of which will be all-inclusive.

The hours will be flexible to an extent so as to be convenient for you.

The lessons we offer currently are as follows:

Basic Art: This is for those who don’t know what discipline they’re interested in yet, and who want to try a little bit of everything. Typically it’s an 8-week ‘course’, usually held 2 times a week, but we can tailor it to your needs! Your child will learn drawing with several mediums: pencil, charcoal, and chalk. They will paint with watercolor and acrylic paints, and they will then make an air-dry clay bowl or pot, and finally, they will make a sculpture with polymer clay. All materials will be provided and are included at $25/lesson.

Drawing: This is for those who really, really like to draw, and your child will learn more advanced drawing techniques than in Basic Art, and will do projects with pencil, charcoal, chalk, and ink. This is offered also in a standard 8-week ‘course’ two times a week, but can be tailored to your needs. All materials will be provided and are included at $25/lesson.

Painting: This is for those who really like painting! Your child will learn more advanced drawing techniques than in Basic Art, and will do projects focusing on painting alone. They will do paintings with watercolor and acrylic paints. This, too, is offered in a standard 8-week course, but can be tailored to your needs. All materials will be provided and are included at $25/lesson.

This is at a great savings to you! The 8-week courses are meant to be held twice a week. Comparatively, you would save $800 over the 8-week course by choosing our services over that of the average private tutor!

The lessons will be held in a Middleburg location. Please contact Brandi at (904)-465-4616 or via email at the top of the page for further information, schedule details and to reserve a place in a class. | I can teach you to dance so that anyone would want to be your partner.

- Adam, Jacksonville, Fl.

21yo student Adam likes a wide range of electric guitar styles. Adam, I can't thank you enough for your review. See you next week!

-- Constance Stafford, Jacksonville, Fl.

Constance is the mother of 14yo beginner MC. MC likes alternative, electric gtr, speed-metal, etc. Thank you Constance very much for your humbling recommendation!

Thanks!

I've been playing for a little more than 2 years and taking lessons from Bob for about 6 months. My skill level has grown exponentially in the time I've spent with him. The techniques Bob teaches you will make you a much better musician.

-- Steve, Jacksonville, Fl.

-- Dillon M, 14yo, Folkston Ga.
