The Ideal Candidate:

If an employee lives more than 60 miles from the worksite, a $90/day per diem (not taxable) will be applicable. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is looking for a project manager with technical experience for the Particulate Controls area of its Generation Sector.
In This Position
Working at EPRI is truly a unique experience and EPRI Project Managers perform tasks outside of the “traditional” project management role. Along with your typical project management duties, you will:

<li>Manage all technical and financial facets of Particulate Controls projects:
<ul>
<li>Identify technical needs and initiate project/program. </li>
<li>Develop project plans. </li>
<li>Manage all tasks and resources (may include management/supervision of support staff). </li>
<li>Conduct process and procedure evaluations. </li>
<li>Assure that all projects are completed on time and within budget. </li>
<li>Organize technical support staff and contractors. </li>
<li>Lead meetings of funders, EPRI staff and external contractors. </li>
<li>Develop and communicate project results, industry guidelines and technical reports to staff and utility committees. </li>
<li>Transfer knowledge and provide direct support to project sponsors. </li>

<li>Be or become a national expert in particulate controls. </li>
<li>Assist members with difficult particulate control problems (exposure to the full array of existing equipment and past issues, newly emerging technologies, EPRI’s ESP performance prediction model) </li>
<li>Develop and implement a particulate control R&D strategy to help members maintain their existing fleet, prefer for new requirements, and meet very stringent emission limits for any new plants or those that may eventually be retrofit with CO2 controls. </li>
<li>Manage ongoing projects to evaluate new technologies and address new issues (e.g., impacts on particulate emissions due to increased unburned carbon, injected activated carbon, or injected alkali for SO2/SO3 control. </li>
</ul>
<font size="4">The Ideal Candidate: </font>

<li>Has seven to ten years experience in operating/troubleshooting particulate controls (including two years of management experience and involvement in R&D representing the organization to the outside or even to regulators/permit writers). </li>
<li>Nationally recognized for expertise in particulate controls. </li>
<li>Has a strong background in voltage stability and protection relay. </li>
<li>Understands hardware and software development. </li>
<li>Demonstrates advanced project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. </li>
<li>Can effectively multitask and manage multiple projects, coordinate and facilitate technical engineering-related communications with peers and clients, and apply scientific and engineering principles, theories, and concepts. </li>
<li>Works well in a team environment. </li>
