We'd like for the pep band to be several members stronger and with a little more diversity in instrumentation, so we're creating open membership. The Heartbreakers basketball team plays up to 10 or 15 games a year at local elementary, middle and high schools. The game is a charity event between Channel 10 and the nonprofit organization, school or another TV station to earn money for our schools or other nonprofit organizations. Naturally, that means that my time is somewhat limited, and being in a gigging band, including regularly practices, etc., is difficult right now. So, I'm posting this to see if there's anyone else out there who just wants to get together to play for the sake of playing together. No pressure to put together a comprehensive setlist (at least, not right away), no pressure to book shows. We play when we feel like it, and when our schedules allow it. I'm a serious musician (good gear, good player), but I can't be a serious working musician when I already spend 60-80 hours a week working or "schooling".
