You like to solve problems, both technical ones and ones that help your customers grow their businesses. Your friends know you're the source of truth, meaning that when you answer a question, you know what you're talking about. You probably read Slashdot, science fiction, and something that's odd and interesting. Your communication skills are top-notch, and you like working with junior developers, mid-level developers, and customers. You naturally move between roles with ease because you’re a professional that enjoys all such challenges. You know what you’re good at, and know what you’re not good at; it’d be unnatural and anti-intuitive to try to be something you aren’t. Your confidence in what you know is earned and real, and you understand that arrogance and confidence needn’t be correlated. You might be a little bit of a cynic because you’ve experienced a lot of the bad with the good, but you’re a happy and optimistic person overall. Lastly, you naturally give and receive respect.

If this describes you, we want to work with you, and hope you please send an email to hr@uarss.com. We'd like your resume, 2-3 code samples you’re proud of, 2-3 work accomplishments you're proud of, and a quick, simple email on why you like writing software.

Work with customers and one of the owners (www.uarss.com/pete) of a software firm to develop websites and services.

Please join our team if you're a friendly PHP and SQL Developer that:
1. Likes to work with customers, challenging work, and flexible work arrangements
2. Is good at organization and working on multiple projects at once
3. Knows or wants to know the secrets to success in a software development project
4. Can think in PHP and SQL
5. Knows OOP and patterns
6. Bonus: great at JavaScript, XML, and Web 2.0 technologies

Curiosity, desire to learn and grow, attitude, and great communication skills are more important than anything else.

About Up and Running: We provide software development services across the nation. Technically, we are known for our web services, database, and architecting experience. Our work is more on the engines of websites than the look and feel. From a soft skills perspective, we are known for our communication, commitment to the customer, and our ability to creatively and accurately translate business needs into working software.

Hope to hear from you.
