The painting is in good condition, with overall craquelure (age-cracks visible within the paint), as well as a few pinpoint spots of paint loss. The direct, intense lighting of the camera's flash makes the craquelure appear far more obvious than it actually is. When under soft lighting, and properly lit, the painting makes for a wonderful display. The painting is in its original frame, with metallic silver paint showing thin lines of gold highlights along the length of the wood. The canvas measures 7½'' x 10'', while the frame is 8¾'' x 11''. His lifelong efforts to generate peace moved Martin Luther King, Jr. to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967. He lives in exile in a small community in France where he teaches, writes, gardens, and works to help refugees worldwide.
