<![CDATA[Hi, I am not 22 looking to start the next BIG thing; however at 40, it still is possible (Huey Lewis and the News broke when he was 42). I had tin the two different bands and a small indie label in th 1990s and then I had an accident which took me out of the scene for 10 years. Now I am dying to play with real muicians. I have an excellent digital studio, with a lot of superb mics and good equipment and the control room is well soundproofed (not to keep sound in but to make the room sound flat so that recordings come out CD quality with ease). In the 90s I had two bands, one of which almost got signed and went to number one on over 65 college charts and also produced 5 bands for my Indie Label that had a distribution deal with Landmark. But that was then and this is now. I have written well over a 100 or more songs just waiting to be recorded, but I like working with other musicians to get other ideas so my recordings don't sound stale. I also just love to jam, which is what music to me is all about, not just sitting in front of a computer. If you're like minded, please respond to the ad, I'm looking for all kinds of musicians except lead singers. Backup singers or any other musicians, please answer. Please be local to Long Beach (or OC areas), have own reliable transportation and be gainfully employed in a job that will not prevent you from rehearsals or doing gigs. Be ready, willing & able to gig 0 to 10 times a month. Gigs are primarily in Long Beach & OC vicinities. Typical bar gigs pay the band $150 or 10% of bar sales (whichever is higher), which is shared. You need to be more than "OK" with this and be in it more for the fun, enjoyment & love of performing. If you are trying to make your living at this or are seeking to become the next Jimmy Page, we are not the band for you. We do popular classic rock covers from the 60's thru 90's. Heavy into the 80's. We have a Booking Manager. Most gigs will be within 60 miles of downtown Long Beach (zip code 90802), but can be further (San Manuel, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Reno, San Bernardino, etc), for higher paying gigs. So, you will need to be able to travel for these, as well as the more "local" gigs. This is a "working man's band", IOW: gigs will be primarily on the weekends, (Fri/Sat/Sun) with a weeknight gig 1 or 2 times a month, at most. Rehearsals are usually on a Saturday or Sunday, for 3 hours. What it does: SB 695, among other things: •Allows nonresidential customers to purchase electricity from an ESP up to an overall historical maximum load amount in each utility territory – Requires the Commission to “allow individual retail nonresidential end-use customers to acquire electric service from other providers in each electrical corporation’s [utility] distribution service territory, up to a maximum allowable total kilowatthours annual limit,” defined as the Commission-established “maximum total kilowatthours supplied by all other providers to distribution customers of that electrical corporation during any sequential 12-month period between April 1, 1998, and the effective date of this section.” •Limits the amount of electric load that ESPs may serve, based on a Commission-adopted three to five year phase in schedule until the historical maximum is reached in each utility territory – “Within six months of the effective date of this section, or by July 1, 2010, whichever is sooner, the commission shall adopt and implement a reopening schedule that commences immediately and will phase in the allowable amount of increased kilowatthours over a period of not less than three years, and not more than five years, raising the allowable limit of kilowatthours supplied by other providers in each electrical corporation’s distribution service territory from the number of kilowatthours provided by other providers as of the effective date of this section, to the maximum allowable annual limit for that electrical corporation’s distribution service territory.” •Otherwise retains the suspension on the right to acquire DA service until the legislature acts – “…the right of retail end-use customers … to acquire service from other providers [e.g., ESPs but not Community Choice Aggregators] is suspended until the Legislature, by statute, lifts the suspension or otherwise authorizes direct transactions.” Definitions: •Direct Access (DA) service [or transactions] is retail electric service where customers purchase electricity from a competitive provider, an Electric Service Provider (ESP), instead of from a regulated electric utility. The couple who adopted her and two other kittens lost their jobs and home and surrendered Shannon and othe others last week - after 5 years. Shannon has been very sad.
