I'm interested in stories from people with skin issues and I'm giving away a limited number of Sunsoul UV protection $80 shirts and $45 hats in return for the stories I post on my site. Visit my site at http://www.sunscreenwear.com for more details and judge for yourself. I've also put lots of videos on YouTube, too. Just go to http://www.youtube.com/sunscreenwear

Have you heard of Sunsoul? The company appeared in 2007 and they make a very unique, fluorescent fabric that provides UV protection and "heals" (improves) many skin conditions. I was skeptical as hell when I first heard about it but I was won over after talking to enough people who wore the clothing.

The reason I'm doing this is because we're all told to use sunscreen and apply it constantly throughout the day. But the EWG (environmental working group) have proved that using chemical sunscreens is slowly poisoning us. So I'm telling everyone that will listen to stop using sunscreen and start using sunblock and high-UPF (ultra-violet protection factor) clothing. I know it sounds like a mantra, but really, I believe that UV clothing that "screens" AND improves acne, rosacea, melanoma, vitilgo, discoloration, sun cancer and a few other conditions has got to be a godsend compared to using chemical sunscreen. It's not important who you buy it from, I just hope you have a moment to think about what I'm saying.

What are your thoughts? I'd really like to get some feedback.

Thanks,
http://www.sunscreenwear.com
Hi guys,

I have a great International volunteering program that can be done on a long weekend. This is truly a life saver and very close to my heart. This is a true WIN-WIN-WIN situation.

My great friend Sheri Grace from high school has been struggling with breast cancer for almost a year now. I had not seen her for nearly thirty years but when we touched bases and she found out what I do, she found an amazing reason to live. Sheri told me she wants to travel the world and help people. I promised her that if she goes through the hell of Chemo and gets better, that I will bring her with me and we will volunteer together.

I want to do better than just promising her "IF and WHEN". I have been promising a great man in Mexico that I would come back and help him put in a computer learning center to help teach very poor children computer skills and English. I want to put this computer center in and put Sheri's name on the door. If Sheri knows there is a place where children are learning that has her name on the door, she will fight to get better. This could very realistically save Sheri's life. Please go see a one minute video I have prepared.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl8CU9s80YE

YOU WILL WIN
THE KIDS WILL WIN
SHERI WILL WIN
Hello,
I am a part of a theatrical production and a project where we are working to help homeless and needy people around the world. Right now we are struggling with simple costs as it is difficult to get sponsorship without having certain thing in place. We are working to get those things in place but it costs money to do so. We are praying that businesses and individuals will be interested in our cause and contact us; allowing us to send you are plan and information to assure authenticity and then volunteer to donate for our start up costs. We are even open to investment agreements where even if we don't make the profit we think we'll make you or your business will still get back more then you gave. We are hoping for $3000 right now but anything you can give would be great. Thankyou!

Email for full details

Hi. I have started a company that primarily focuses on teaching dance classes to local preschool, elementary and parochial schools on a weekly basis. I am building my resume and am offering exactly 3 schools the opportunity to have our company come teach a 4-week session of dance at their school, absolutely free! Yes FREE! What you get is someone who has experience working with children as a choreographer and mentor working at your school, once a week for four weeks. Classes are held in the afternoon on a Monday, Tues, or Friday for 45 minutes. The classes will teach a mixture of jazz, modern, and hip-hop. At the end of the four week period, there is an option of using the last class as a sort of mini-recital (but the school would be responsible for all props and costumes). There are no rainy days and no rescheduling is allowed.

This is a limited offer, for 3 schools only. If your school is accepted, all I ask is that I be able to use the video footage for my promotional materials and use the school as a reference on my brochures. The option of continuing the relationship after the 4 weeks can be discussed, but all standard charges/fees for dance lessons will apply.

Offer is subject to cancellation at any time.

Please respond to this e-mail, and I will forward you my phone number as well as website information (sorry, in the past I have received way too much Spam to insert in here).

As such, I need volunteers that have a few spare hours on weekdays that can administer surveys. Specifically, my thesis is on the factors that influence egress of bike-and-ride trips—or why do cyclists choose to use or not use their bikes when they get to the destination end of their trip?

I’m hoping that my findings will help Metro become a friendlier place for bicycles and the community as a whole.

Volunteers will be positioned at various Metro rail stations throughout the county and will ask cyclists to take a few minutes of their time to complete a survey. Spanish speaking volunteers are a plus. So are those who have prior survey experience. It includes in its consideration, longevity, rejuvenation and self-realization therapies through herbs, diet, exercise, yoga, massage, aromas, tantras, mantras, and meditation. According to Ayurvedic tradition, health is the balance of elements air, earth, fire, and water, and illness is an excess or deficiency of any particular element. Ayurveda treats illness at its source, rather than at the level of symptoms, and helps an individual to take responsibility for their own health and well being. It provides independent housing, assisted living and complex care for elders. Haro Park supports the Eden philosophy and is committed to creating a human habitat where life revolves around close and continuing contact with plants, animals, children and youth. Haro Park Centre aims at establishing a homelike environment that emphasizes a quality of life supporting the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each person.
International group of volunteers will contribute to the quality of life of the elders by supporting them in a variety of therapeutic, social, and physical programs and special events. Activities include art, horticultural therapy, music therapy, exercise programs and seasonal/theme parties. Volunteers with musical interests are encouraged to bring their instrument. We also have several pianos on site.
International volunteers will work with residents in both one-to-one and group settings. There will be structured activities and a daily schedule of events but volunteers are also expected to be motivated, independent, and to make effective use of their unscheduled time. A typical day might include: making a collage, leading a discussion group, putting up party decorations, playing cards, and taking residents out for walks. Over the course of the summer there will also be various outings such as scenic drives, picnics, and visits to the aquarium and/or art gallery.
All volunteers are expected to be creative, flexible, respectful and responsive to the residents’ needs. The benefits to volunteering at Haro Park Centre are immeasurable. We are offering volunteers an amazing opportunity to develop relationships with interesting and loving seniors. The volunteers who have a person-centered approach to their volunteerism and who are looking for these personal connections are the ones that will benefit the most from this experience.
Location: Haro Park Centre is located in Downtown Vancouver, close to museums, theatre, art gallery, upscale shopping and Stanley park with its beaches and other attractions. Vancouver’s most popular shopping area – the trendy Robson street is just a block away. The centerpiece and green heart of Vancouver is Stanley Park, the city's most famous landmark, and one of the largest parks in any urban centre in North America.
There are wooded trails, open playing fields, secluded lakes, gorgeous gardens, and the Vancouver Aquarium, the largest in Canada. A seawall walkway meanders along the park's perimeter, with beautiful views of the city skyline, the harbour, beaches, and the spectacular North Shore Mountains. Vancouver's fame as one of the most beautiful cities in the world is tied to Stanley Park's popularity.
Age requirements: 19-30 years

More info, other projects and enrollment at: www.cadip.org/volunteer-in-canada.htm

phone: 604-628-7400 (Canada); 617-502-0400 (US) web: www.cadip.org

Well....not really, but if you love dogs but it’s not a good time to adopt one, fostering a dog is a win-win situation!
Foster a dog and helps us save more lives! We provide you with medical care and supplies as needed (many fosters already have leashes, bowls, etc.). All you need to give the pooch is love and proper care.
By having our dogs fostered, it helps their adoptions far more successful because we can learn more about the dog’s personality and health conditions. We’ll also show you how to train them.
We ask the following from our fosters:
1. You are not away from home more than 4-5 hours/day at a time (if you work, you can come home during lunch break).
2. You can transport the dog to/from adoption events at Centinela Feed in Mar Vista minimum three Saturdays/month. If absolutely necessary, we can arrange alternate transportation.
3. It would be a plus if you have some experience with dogs, but you don’t need to have dogs of your own.
4. We do not know how long it may take for any dog to get adopted, so we’d appreciate it if you can make a long-term commitment. When you go out of town, we will pay for kenneling fees.
For information on our organization, go to http://www.FARescue.org. If you are interested in fostering our dogs, please send an e-mail, and we will send you a foster questionnaire, so that it will help us select a best match for your lifestyle.
We look forward to hearing from you!

You like dogs, but can't have one due to work, landlord, etc.? Then here's the place to hang out with your canine buddies!

Forte Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding solutions for the problem of pet overpopulation through its educational activities, adoption efforts, and outreach program.

We need help at our Saturday Adoptions
We hold our adoptions at Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies in Mar Vista. We especially need help for setup and tear-down. This consists of crate handling, transportation for the dogs, tent, table and crate setup. The adoption setup begins at noon, and tear-down begins at 3:30 pm. You can come for the setup, the tear down, or stay all day with our cute pooches. There are usually beverages and snacks, so it's like picnic and fun to "hang out"!

We need foster homes
If you can foster or know anybody that can, please let us know! For the dogs boarded at the kennel, it's no different from sitting behind bars in their jail cells. By having our dogs fostered, we get to know about the dogs far better than when the dog is kenneled. By being fostered, we can make sure that the dog is potty-trained, and dogs learn commands and how to walk on the leash. All of these make the dog's adoption far more successful. Forte Animal Rescue provides medical care and supplies if needed (many fosters already have leashes, bowls, etc.).

We need dog walkers for the dogs boarded at our vet
We usually have a few dogs boarded at our vet in west LA. It's on Sepulveda and La Grange, North of Olympic and South of Santa Monica Blvd. Though the vet techs take the dogs out for bathroom breaks, they don't get the real walks, and dogs get cooped up without such outings.

For more info: http://www.FARescue.org/

Youth Mentoring Connection has a 10-year history of delivering worksite- and community-based mentoring programs serving "at-risk" youth throughout Los Angeles. Our mentoring programs are relationship-based - through developing a trusting relationship with a caring, consistent adult, our youth are able to develop more trust and esteem in themselves.
We provide the structure and support to help mentoring matches succeed. Mentors and mentees meet twice a month, for nine months, on a set calendar. One meeting each month is a "Group" session, where all mentor-mentee pairs meet together for facilitated group activities to build trust, community, relationship skills, and life skills. The other session each month is a "One-on-One," where mentors and mentees go off to do activities of their own choosing (dinner, movie, ball game, etc.)
We are gearing up for our Children’s Hospital program, which will begin March 23. This program serves at-risk youth ages 10-15 in Northeast L.A. and meets every other Tuesday evening, 5:30-7:30 pm, at Rio de Los Angeles Park. This program is a 9 month commitment. For program calendars, please visit our Volunteer Page.
Staff provide extensive training and support to mentors - our goal is to be there for you so you can be there for our youth! No special skills are required, just the desire to help a young person reach his or her full potential. Mentors should be age 21 or over, and own or have regular access to a vehicle. We ask that mentors be able to keep their commitment to their mentee through attending the scheduled group and one-on-one sessions, and making one phone or email contact in the off weeks. We ask mentors to show up, role model participation, be genuine, and be themselves. We conduct an interview, background check, and mentor training to ensure the safety of our youth, and to prepare mentors for what to expect. From there - the rest of the magic happens on its own through the mentoring process!
Interested?
