<![CDATA[Hello! :) I am a 23 yr old college student at IUS, and my lease is up and I would like to find a roomate to share expenses for a 2 BR apt in the Highlands. I currently live in the Highlands and love this neighborhood and don't want to leave it! So I would like to find someone who is also looking for a place very soon, I would like to be in by the 1st of next month, if that is at all possible. I would prefer a female roommate, could maybe live with a male, 21-30ish, who is considerate, pays rent on time, laid back, and respects personal space and privacy. I don't mind having people over or even parties occasionally, but definitely don't want to live with someone who feels the need to be loud and party at home all of the time. That being said, I don't want to come across as boring or stuffy either, I like to go out and have fun and relax as much as anyone, just need to have some level of peace, especially during school. :) I am really laid back and open minded and able to get along with just about any and everyone, so I'm not too picky with who I room with, as long as you can extend the same courtesy! As for me, I'm easy going, intelligent, somewhat artsy, love spontaneity, and think it's important to be healthy, both mentally and physically. I'm generally pretty busy between school and bartending part time, but when I'm free I like to read, run/work out, paint, bike, cooking, I love doing anything outdoors and go to Cherokee a lot, like hitting the bars sometimes, Heine Bros, and generally open to whatever seems fun and interesting at the time. :) So basically just need someone who is responsible and hopefully similar, I don't need or expect a best friend out of the deal, but if we gain a friend out of it, that's even better! I have been looking for apts in the area for awhile and will continue to do so, and there are lots of great affordable 2 BR's! So if you would like to help or come along that would be cool, too. <![CDATA[Quiet lady needs quiet apartment or house on ground floor with two or more bedrooms, with central air preferred. A one bedroom apartment or home would be considered if it is large in size and has plenty of storage room. I would like 1-1/2 or 2 bathrooms, but will settle for one bathroom if needed. I am disabled with fibromyalgia, a painful muscle condition, which makes going up stairs impossible for me to do on a daily basis, so I would need something on a ground floor. I receive a disability check on the third of every month, so you would be guaranteed payment on time, every month, as long as you are agreeable to being paid on the third of the month instead of the typical first of the month. I want to put my roots down somewhere and would love to find a place I can call home for many years, if not for the rest of my life. I have function of all of my limbs, they just hurt most of the time, but I still get around in my own home. My boyfriend helps me out with cleaning, minor maintanence and heavy lifting. He will not live here or stay overnight as his parents are both disabled and he lives with and takes care of them. Locations I like to live are PRP (Pleasure Ridge Park), Valley Station, the Highlands, Iroquois, Fairdale, Fern Creek, or Okolona. Other locations considered for the right apartment. The west end of Louisville, old Louisville, northwest parts of Shively, Newburg neighborhood, Buechel will not be considered. I've been at the same apartment complex nearly fourteen years. Management has changed hands several times. They haven't keep the units maintained well and are lax about rules regarding loud noise and vandalism. Several violent crimes and numerous minor crimes have taken place here in the past few years. It's time for a change. I am looking for a quiet place with plenty of storage and cabinet space. My current apartment is too small, so many of my books are packed in boxes. I am an avid reader and have many bookcases, so I need a room that I can use as an office. I do not drink, smoke, use drugs, nor party. I read, spend time on the Internet, watch documentaries and listen to songwriters and artists from the 1970s, so I'm harmless. I love to cook, so a big kitchen with lots of cabinet space, working space and a dishwasher would be nice to have. I'm happy to ply friends, family and landlords with delicious edible gifts. A washer/dryer or hook-ups would be nice to have, but not a necessity. I have four very well-behaved indoor spayed female cats. They don't chew, scratch, urinate on, etc. anything that they shouldn't. Proof of their health and licensing can be provided by their vet, if desired. Their hobbies are lying in the sun in front of the window, birdwatching, chasing catnip mice down the hallway and snuggling with me. They aren't the type to scratch carpet, furniture or walls or climb on the cabinets. They range between 4 1/2 years and 16 years, so they are well beyond the kitten stage. I moved from one apartment to another in the same building ten years after I moved here and there were no damages created by my cats, nor by me. Just the usual wear and tear you would expect from a normal person who respects where she lives and who wants to keep things in good condition. The cats are well taken care of and treated for the prevention of fleas monthly as there are several large dogs in neighboring apartments, so you would not have to worry about the expense of a flea or insect infestation. I would love to have an outdoor container herb garden on the patio, deck or porch and windows that face the east to catch the best sun, if possible. I was recently approved for Section 8 and am awaiting my voucher and am searching for a place to call home. I should receive my voucher within 8 to 10 weeks. I'd appreciate an understanding landlord who is willing to take a chance on a quiet, decent, disabled lady who needs a break. If you are not familiar with Section 8 and you would like to become a Section 8 landlord, you can pick up a landlord packet at the Louisville Metro Housing Authority office on Vine Street or their website at www.lmha1.org As a Section 8 landlord, you are guaranteed to rent the apartment for a minimum of one year and guaranteed payment every month, especially from residents receiving disability payments, such as myself. You can also choose to rent as many or as few apartments through Section 8. For example, if you want to rent an apartment to me, but not open up the entire complex to Section 8, you can do that. With today's economy, job market and housing market, more people will be applying for Section 8 and will be looking for rental property. It is easy to maintain full occupancy when you accept Section 8, so if you have a place to lease, it might be worth it for you to look into the program. I'm very clean and organized, very responsible and pay my bills on time. I am currently working one job part-time and am about to start my second job within the next two weeks. Here is my situation: I have a small dog that I would *love* to keep with me until I leave for the Peace Corps. I'm currently living with my brother and two other roommates who have decided that they want to live closer to work (UPS) and are moving to Outer Loop. Both of my jobs, however, are downtown, one of which I can bring my dog to in the afternoons. If I move away from downtown, it won't be possible for me to come back home and pick my dog up before I have to go to my second job. I'm also not interested in living on my own in an apartment as I'll have to sign a lease and pay another pet deposit, on top of much more expensive rent. I would really be satisfied with a closet to sleep in at this point, as long as I have a place to shower. I can pay a max of $200 in rent (I'm only paying $170 right now) and would be more than willing to keep the house clean/do odd chores/shopping/pet care/child care if that meant cheaper rent. If you're looking to make some extra money and have a guest bedroom that you're not using, I'd be more than happy to occupy it for you. I don't smoke, and even though I'm Scotch-Irish, I don't drink or party (well, I watch 24, and I get a little wild then), I love sports and being outdoors/being active. I'm relatively quiet and have all the furnishings I need. I love all types of animals, but get a little congested around rodents. I also have my CPR, first-aid and AED certifications, should anyone in the house ever electrocute themselves or come across any bodily harm. :) Like I said, I'm really just looking for a temporary and cheap place to stay that's downtown.
