| leaving to dallas from memphis on thursday afternoon around 2 and will be back on friday | I am taking two boats from kansas city to new orleans. I am a single guy in his thirtys that has had enough of miserable missouri! I am relocating permanantly, so no return. I have a small inboard motorboat and a sailboat that I will be towing behind. The sailboat has plenty of room for a guest passenger- but this is not luxury accomodations--- think more along the lines of camping in a water proof tent. We will be stopping in several ports along the way for provisions and internet, and there are plenty of places along the Muddy Mo as well as the Missip to get a cell phone signal. You would be amazed what this country looks like from the river, it is truly an enlightening experience. Both boats have sleeping space, but they are cozy to say the least! you must be pretty fit to make this trip. A good knowledge of the life aquatic is highly recomended but not required. An accident prone past will be a liability to both of us, so dont contact me unless you are actually up to this trip. I have a dog that will be traveling along, she is used to this type of activity, and is extremely intelligent. I am open to both male and female applicants, but no drama please- you must be thick skinned and have a good sence of humor. There will be both 110 and 12 volt electricity available for a laptop, a bucket to pee in, a stop on land everyday, a single burner stovetop, plenty of canned food, and conversation! The trip will take us thru Memphis on the 7 th day and I plan on stopping for a night on the town and some BBQ! Then on down the Missip to new orleans to stay with friends at an art studio, then on the Intracoastal Waterway east towards florida and the ultimate goal is Key West. You can get off anywhere along the way you want. This will be one of those experiences you will talk about for the rest of your life- I gurantee! This wont be expensive- expect $10-20 per day, and that is 14 days to new orleans, and 45 days to the keys- but if you go all the way to the keys with me- I will pitch in more with supplys and food. I will be leaving March15th- depending on the Weather- maybe a bit later, maybe a bit sooner! There is space for you to bring two big duffel bags of gear, and there will be plenty of opportunities for photography and relaxation. I am a responsible Skipper with several thousand hours on the water.
The sailboat has an outboard motor you will be required to start and manuver, but we will have a practice run on a local lake before we go to make sure you are familiar, as well as teach you how to navigate on your own in case of an emergency. Come on down, I live in Harrisonville, have a beer on the boat and dream about the possibilities!
To be considered, please send recent pic with info on skill level, adventures you have taken, and any other pertinent info such as medical needs etc... and contact info.

Just chip in a little for gas! | Hey, my friend and I have been planning this semi-spontaneous trip for about week now. We pretty much have everything figured out, which way were going to take and where were going to stay when we get there. Were leaving the last Monday in March and will be back either Thursday or Friday. Granted this doesn't leave us much time to actually be in New York. This trip is more about the trip itself, just getting a way the short while we have the opportunity to. We have two open seats and would love to give them to you in exchange for a little help gas.
We're from Marquette Michigan, and off from school for spring break. I'm 21, and he's 2.5. He's allergy free, and we're both very easy going.
I'm hitching as much as I can for expense purposes (as well as the adventure of it all). We've found rides all the way to Memphis, and are still looking to find our way to Florida, or any warm coastal Location (We love the open water and traveling). We don't need a ride the whole way, any little bit will help.
I'm sure that I can help out a bit as far as gas money goes, but we are much better entertainers.
I'm available by phone only because I'll be on the road. 616-916-1830.
Have a great day guys.
P.s. I'm heading down tomorrow, so Friday or Saturday would be the best for me, Thanks a ton.

Peace.
