<![CDATA[The Miami-Dade Animal Shelter takes in anywhere between 100-150 dogs PER DAY. This puts an enormous strain on space and resources, which unfortunately results in the untimely deaths of several hundreds of potential pets per week. I rescued a large black & brown female dog from her place on death row at the shelter but am unable to keep her, as I already have a small zoo as it is and she does not seem to be very cat-friendly. According to the shelter, she is a shepherd mix that is approximately 1 year old and weighs in at 60 pounds but she looks more like a rottweiler mix of some sort. They said she was picked up as a stray but does not appear to be a street dog. She is housebroken, gets along with other dogs and is extremely playful and affectionate.
