I am looking for a home for a beautiful orange tabby who is one year old. He was living outdoors near my loft space all summer and I took "Chaser"in a month ago, had him neutered and given all his shots and he is now ready for his forever home. Sadly I cannot keep him due to pre-existing allergies that worsened when I brought in a second cat.

He would be great with another cat(s). He's very affectionate, playful and adjusts easily. Please help him to have the "cat" life he deserves.
Reduces fears.
Reforms fighters.

I cannot take him in consideration for my 7 other cats. He is not fixed nor declawed and has a small eye infection but is absolutely adorable and seeks attention constantly! He is your usual black and white domestic cat but definitely used to have a home and never seems to want to fight with my cats so would do fine in a house with other cats....

I do not know about the rescues that are profit making - i assume your talking about the SPCA. I certainly agree if what you say is happening (your first few sentences). I wasn t - I really don t know anything about what they do & what kind of money they take in. I was talking about, as i mentioned in my post, about the small ones who save the ones from death row & ones people have abandoned. These people do that in their free time. Only out of Love for the actual dogs & cats.

I do have a couple of dogs & cats myself. And I go the route of not having the rabies every year. I will be having them tested on the third year to see if they still have protection. I did read some of those articles before. I definitly want to keep an eye on Rabies though. The year that I gave it to my first dog their were rabies just across the border in Vermont & New York. And some cases were reported on our side. Roving animals i.e. squirrels raccons & such pass it on. Obviously when its there I am going to protect my pets. I assume that then the shots are needed to prevent having it spread. In places that don t have it - this is how they do it. We certainly have to pay attention to whats happening at the time & act accordingly.

On ones with compromised immune systems - it does sound like it might be commen sense not to give it to such pets. I personally don t know enough about this. Although alot of their rescues pets are perfectly healthy - just ones people have given up - it was mentioned that many on death row have nothing wrong with them - just no more room as new ones come in. So they should be fine. It would be the few they take on to help find homes for - from the pet mill rescues. The one that i know of can only take on one at a time. I would like to ask some of the Good rescues about this - what they do in these cases. I m assuming that if it is unwise - that they get the sick ones back on track before giving it.

You know alot about it & it could be helpful for you to also check this out with them - every little thing could be helpful for these smaller rescues that do not make any profit & Are only out for the best for these pets - no other motive - to do the best job that they can. This is the way that others can help. It would be good to ask the good rescues how they handle the ones with lower immune systems.

All the Best,

p.s. To keep this on an informative level & not heated - you didn t need to add the "Mr good intention" comment. Its always best to keep this respectful & not include things. I like learning as much as possible & am a calm person. Others might not & it just eggs them on & the discussions then get off point & then not useful when that happens.

Unfortunately we travel enough now that getting a "full time" dog could severely limit the trips that we take for work and for pleasure.

In the hopes of itching our "let's get a dog" scratch, I am hoping to find some busy person (or people) out there who already has a dog that they would be willing to "share" with us every once in a while. Let's say you want to get out of town for the weekend, instead of sending your dog to the kennel, or hiring a dog sitter, you can bring her to us, and she would have a great time playing with us while you are away.

We have a house with a small fenced in yard. We have dog sitting experience, and have cared for a dog for as long as 3 weeks in a stretch. We are very loving, and a clean pet is welcome in all areas of our house, including our beds.

The ideal dog would be:
- Good with kids (obviously)
- Like to play with cats (pretty important)
- Have lots of energy
- Social and affectionate
- Small or medium sized
- Female
- Not overly loud, nor yappy
- House trained to go on paper
I realize that this is a bit weird, but maybe it could work. If you have a dog that fits the above criteria (an exact match is not critical) and you are willing to try this, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Puppy mills need to be controlled yes, but raids by groups controlled by profit motivated vets seeking publicity to garner donations is wrong.

Rather than foster an environment in which the next rescue scam mogul can flourish, efforts should be made to find a better solution.

Did you know, Mr. Good Intentions, the first thing these "rescuers do" is pump the rabies vaccine into the helpless often weak and sick animals.

Immunologically, the rabies vaccine is the most potent of the veterinary vaccines and associated with significant adverse reactions such as polyneuropathy “resulting in muscular atrophy, inhibition or interruption of neuronal control of tissue and organ function, incoordination, and weakness,”[3] auto-immune hemolytic anemia,[4] autoimmune diseases affecting the thyroid, joints, blood, eyes, skin, kidney, liver, bowel and central nervous system; anaphylactic shock; aggression; seizures; epilepsy; and fibrosarcomas at injection sites are all linked to the rabies vaccine.[5] [6] It is medically unsound for this vaccine to be given more often than is necessary to maintain immunity.

There hasn't been a single case of rabies in Montreal amongst pet dogs in all of last year yet millions have been spent in poisoning domestic pets with this vaccine. Even vets themselves, in this information age have been embarased into taking less money from the gullible public and vaccinating less, once every 3 yrs as opposed to every year.

The American Veterinary Medical Association's 2001 Principles of Vaccination state that “Unnecessary stimulation of the immune system does not result in enhanced disease resistance, and may increase the risk of adverse post-vaccination events.” The law, as it currently reads, may violate Arkansas Consumer Protection Laws 4-88-107 and 4-88-108 by requiring pet owners to pay for a yearly veterinary medical procedure from which their animals derive no benefit and may be harmed. The fact that the rabies vaccine confers a minimum duration of immunity of 3 years is “concealed” or “omitted” from consumers (pet owners). Compliance with Section 20-19-202 of the Rabies Law places veterinarians in the uneasy position of “Over-treating patients” -- an apparent violation of Section 17-101-305 (a)(17) of the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Practice Act.

A “killed” vaccine, the rabies vaccine contains adjuvants to enhance the immunological response. In 1999, the World Health Organization " classified veterinary vaccine adjuvants as Class III/IV carcinogens with Class IV being the highest risk," [7] and the results of a study published in the August 2003 Journal of Veterinary Medicine documenting fibrosarcomas at the presumed injection sites of rabies vaccines stated, “In both dogs and cats, the development of necrotizing panniculitis at sites of rabies vaccine administration was first observed by Hendrick & Dunagan (1992).” [8] According to the 2003 AAHA Guidelines, "...killed vaccines are much more likely to cause hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., immune-mediated disease)."

Beautiful, gentle cats and kittens rescued from outside colonies, or who had been abandoned, abused, were stray, or otherwise homeless seek loving, permanent homes. Cats have been sterilized, vaccinated, treated for parasites, and those rescued from outside have been blood-tested for infectious diseases such as FIV and leukemia. All are in excellent health, and the veterinary record is included. Litters of small kittens will be available, newly-arrived litters will be displayed for the first time. We have every colour kitten you can possibly imagine--pure white kittens, ginger kittens, beige kittens, black kittens, grey kittens, grey tabbies and whites, tortoise shell kittens, and calico kittens, in addition to many lovely young adult cats (already sterilized). Come meet our new rescues Henry, Berline, and Sakura. We also seek loving forever homes, second chances for pets cruelly abandoned in an outdoor cat colony in Pierrefonds, including a white cat named Snowball and a lovely black and white cat named Bandit. Please help these cats by offering them the permanent home they have never known, a temporary foster home, or help us with a donation to offset the enornmous vet bills we accumulate in our rescue work. We also seek a foster home for a special needs cat named Homer. He had been confined to a cage for the first year or so of his life, and is terrified of cages. He would bet be placed in a quiet home with no children or dogs. Because he cannot be in a cage even briefly, Homer is not a cat who can come into and out of our adoption days, so we seek a foster or adoptive home where he would receive much love and affection to help him overcome his traumatic past. He is a beautiful grey and white cat about 2 years old.

Yes - their are bad apples in any group - so that guy was one of them. Doesn t mean you should lump them all together. Other rescues make NO money off this. They spend their lesiure time working hard to save these precious pets who have abused these animals - they go & pick up innocent animals - as many as they can to save them from putting them to their death. No they can t save them all. Are you out there saving any of them?! Go join them & see how it is. Maybe their are bad rescues - I do not know - I ve just seen what the good ones do - & not being paid one penny & alot of time using their own money. How do you propose they are scamming people.

And especially these pet mill dogs that you are talking about - are at more risk so they especially need to be protected - if the loving people at the rescues were trying to do damage to them - they would not lift a finger & leave the dogs where they are to suffer a very slow death - the worst kind of suffering. And any that go to a pound & get put on a list to be put to sleep - because Us humans are the ones to put them there. These pet mills are there because they get peoples business. They buy these pet mill dogs puppies from Pet stores & the net. And then at one point toss them out for the rescues to take care of them. So these rescues are not full from just the raided pet mills - they are also full from lovely people buying from not so good breeders & so called familys breeding their pets - some thinking that is perfectly innocent. Where did there pets come from - but pet stores & puppy mills. Very few from very good breeders.

I do not know the specs of for or against vaccinations - it comes up with humans also. But I do know that a higher number are saved by them. Everywhere in our world we have to decide between what is not known for sure & try to choose the lesser evils. So you don t want to vaccinate or fix your pet - that is your descison - but do know that there are just as much research that lists the other side of it.

You now want another pet - where are you going to buy it from? Hopefully a good breeder who tests the parents for a solid physical history. If you want a perfectly healthy pet & not have an unsound background - one with out chances of cancer, congential problems - your smart why ask other people - you can do the research. And thats great if you do that - you can pick & choose wisely.

Target: Quebec Criminal Court System

Sponsored by: Boxer Rescue Quebec

Carole Lepalme, a Quebec puppy mill owner should be made legally
accountable for breaking the law, under animal cruelty.

*** In September 2008, Ms. Lepalme had 157 dogs removed from her care by the Montreal SPCA on the grounds of animal cruelty. All 157 dogs took residence in one house where they were packed in crates, dog runs and wire cages. They were found extremely malnourished, dehydrated, over bred, infested with worms, untreated open wounds on their bodies and some were even found dead on site.

We have started this petition because Carole Lapalme, the puppy mill owner, will be back in criminal court December 17th, 2008 and is pleading not guilty to animal cruelty. Carole Lepalme is requesting that the dogs be returned to her. Something has to be done to stop these dogs from being put back under the care of this person. Quebec is known as the animal cruelty capital of North America, and is the home of over 2000 puppy mills. You can make a difference, do not let these helpless animals return to a desolate life without care, food, space, companionship or freedom.

* We the undersigned demand that Carole Lapalme be held accountable for her actions and that none of her 157 dogs be returned to her care.

| The highest that I ve seen is Sophies rescue based in Westmount - they also take in alot more dogs & i believe that is only $325. Some others only at $300 & ones like the spca at around $250. Although ones like Sophies, Rosies & other recues like it - don t have a shelter - they work to find foster families so while the rescued dogs can live in a normal home instead of cages - side by side like at the spca.

This is not meant to be a dig to spca - they do the best they can with what they have & also take alot more dogs in. No one who endeavors to do they best to work to rehome pets shouldn t be.

So where else can you pay $300 including all vaccinations plus castration & also have people who know the dogs thoughly so you can know exactly what your getting? And to help find as good of a match as possible. Certainly not very likly as in places like kijiji - who with along with most prices are higher and that includes none of the bulk of the vaccinations - nor fixing. And who advertize that the pup/dogs are perfection. They are are super friendly little lovers & such cuties. Just perfect! | And this is because they have little public support and even less government support. In many other places you can get a dog from the spca or a rescue for well under $100, which seems very reasonable for a shelter dog who has been vet checked and microchipped etc. The thing is, in many of these places there is either municipal, state, federal, and/or public donation on a large scale. Not so much in QC. There is way less support here for these kind of endeavours, and I am pretty sure this is why rescue/shelter fees seem high. I know it is not because rescues are making money!

And it may not be much, but for someone who badly wants an animal, coming up with $250-$500 sometimes requested by Montreal rescues for a dog can mean either a) not getting a dog or b) saying screw it and just buying a $500 back yard breeder puppy since they're already shelling out that much to begin with. Especially if they are uneducated as to puppy milling and BYB politics and health issues. I am not saying fees should therefore be lower or that people shouldn't be wary when giving an animal for free, but, well, this is how it happens.

And btw how the hell does anyone know if someone is lying or not about their allergies based on one CL ad?! Holy crap that is presumptuous! |
I've posted about allergies delevoping later in life before, but I'll say a little something else because I see it's come up again.

Allergies can develop throughout life. If you do not agree with this statement, conduct research.

(Now, I'm going to quote someone but I'm not trying to pick on this poster, just using post references to build my point)

I have an issue with the statement "I guess you are one of the smart ones to find out about your allergies before you take on the responsibilies," because it's factually inaccurate. It's not necessarily POSSIBLE to find out "ahead of time" because allergies can develop at ANY time. It also has absolutely nothing to do with being "smart."

And then this next part, "these postings are not targeted to those who truely have developed allergies as stated in the post. it's for the ones that use the allergies as an excuse to get rid of an animal, even though it's not the true."

I think this statement says a lot, and it seems to me it's an accurate reflection of the general attitude here. We don't mean to be mean to the GOOD people, just the BAD ones. But there is no way at all for you, or anyone else (aside, perhaps, from the person's doctor or close friends and family) to know whether or not a person's allergies are real or fictional.

By targeting people and accusing them of having fake allergies, you are assuming too much. There is no way of knowing. And arguing that if the person has real allergies then the vicious post doesn't apply to them is moot, because they have still been targeted and attacked.

We should all know better than to be so presumptuous. It's one thing to say generally that the concept of fake allergies irks you, angers you, infuriates you. Fine! I support that, and I agree that it's a slimey thing to pretend to have allergies and dump a pet. But it's completely another to confront a poster and attack them based on something that can't be proven one way or another. It accomplishes nothing, and it creates resentment, and it makes the CL community look like a bunch of vicious Yahoos.

I would love to see an end to the "attacks" that occur in this forum all too often.
There will be rehoming for legit reasons - at different times - but not to the extent that is happening. The high rate of rehoming that fills our streets & rescues & that they have to eventually kill to make room for more to try & save. And none of these rescues are profit - they are doing it because they care & don t make a cent for themselves. If there is Any left over - they go to the pound to save the next one in line to be killed - to give them another chance. And many of the ones saved are perfectly normal loving pets - are there because their owner changed there mind.

Enough said |
Your right - there are alot of different reasons & including people wanting a pup/dog to love.

But even for the loving reason - sometimes people really aren t prepared enough in knowing what comes with that. In that way (& others) they are alot like kids these precious pets & are in need of alot of time & direction. And just like humans are Not Perfect - they come in all different shapes & sz s - all different personalities & YES imperfections like humans.

And just like humans shouldn t be gotten rid of because they are not perfect Princess s & Princes in personalities nor physical - they can not possibly fit each particular owners wish list of perfection. Anybody who has this idea of a Pet - that they are to fulfil all of our desires - such as this - should not choose to bring one into their home into their lives.

And some may not expect perfection - but don t know how to go about directing them & some of the normall pup/dog behaviors get out of hand & it isn t because there is anything wrong with them - they have not been directed properly & whatever the behaviour problems get worse - including boredom, chewing, barking, more jumpy - even aggressive. And the owners blame it on the dog - when the hightest percentage Ever is because of how the owners handle the situation.

And so the highest percentage ever - the accumlation of these things - the owner wants it to the end & takes the easy way out - for them. Which is to get rid of it. Allergies, not enough time, behavior problems are all blamed on the dog & are all used for Why they HAVE to.

And this is why the rescues are full & so many pup/dogs are also put to sleep. Yes - Even puppies - eventually theres no more older, unhealthy, agrressive ones to put down. So they have to go to the next level to make more room - even the puppies are next on the list - to make room.

So along with the dangerous - pup/dog seekers for evil intentions - sell to researchers, to abuse etc... to resell to make a buck - there is the so called normal good people who where looking for perfection or just didn t know how to properly direct their precious pet.........

And these People continue - no matter how many warnings to buy from Pet Stores (which are picked up from Pet mills) & pet mills & from the net which have a combination of them. Including Lots of Families who innocently or not are breeding their own pets (who come from these before mentioned places) & come from the same unhealthy stock to continue the cycle of having the chance of more unhealthy pets. So many still look the other way - thinking they are not part of any misconduct - they are not part of why so many pets are abused & eventually having to put asleep. Rescues can only save so many.

And Rescues Do NOT charge so much. They are Fully vacinating & also fixing which they have to pay a Vet to do. The next one that you would have to do is the following year. If you were buying one you would be paying that & more just for the purchase. And then you have many more vacinations & that would add around 300+ more. How is a rescue expensive?!

Allergies can develop later in life. I grew up with cats, dogs, and horses. Now if I had a cat in the house, I am 40 this year, it would kill me. This is recent, and has been cumulative. I have ended up in the hospital on 4 occasions, and been told that I risked drowning in my sleep...

And no I do not own a pet but I was pet sitting at the time for a friend that was out of town. That and just by being around other people`s furred animals was sufficient to compromise my lungs to the point that I would wake up unable to breathe.

If I touch an animal with fur, my skin breaks out in angry and painful welts.

So lighten up already, and look somewhere than down the end of your nose at people. If you can keep furred animals. Good for you... keep a thousand of them. But if someone cannot, then they simply cannot do it.

Thanks for your response. The two surgeries I am speaking of are a hysterectomy and the removal of stones from my cat’s bladder. (Two different cats, two separate occasions, and same vet...I'll call them ‘vet A’) I understand that everyone will have slightly different prices, and in places like Westmount or the Plateau, the prices will be more, however, when other veterinarians tell you that there are more than one charge on your bill that are unnecessary as well as things that 'vet A' charges for that all vets get for free, the price difference seems like they're trying to make as much off of you as they can. (Vet A was even charging for litter, I have never heard of that before).

Also, I should mention that my mother's cat has had many a UTI infection, stones and needs special food because he is so prone to them. My mother has never paid more than 500$ to have this problem corrected.

To add to this, I have shopped around today. No one gave me a price anywhere close to what this vet was asking, and when I say 'not close' I mean a difference of at least five hundred dollars. That is pure insanity.

I would never bring this to light if I were not pretty damn sure about what was saying. I apologize that I wasn't clearer in the first posting.

So I ask again, what do I do? Where is the line between a difference in price and just pure gouging? Well I'm drawing it here and now; this needs to be looked into.

Any suggestions/comments are always appreciated.
PS. My cat, by the way, should be fine by Wednesday.

My First Dog was...... FREE..... And I loved her with all the love a heart could have. She was fed and cared for and excercised and played with and slept with and vetted when necessary and she lived to be 15. She was loved by a whole family and there were lots of tears when she died.

My Second Dog was........FREE..... And I loved him beyond measure. He traveled with me as I moved all over the U.S. I payed pet deposites on rental houses... I spent thousands of dollars on vets when he got a rare disease. He went on dates with me.. he went to work with me... he slept by my bed, ate the best of foods... was the envy of many who stopped to say how cool he was... And I thought my heart would never ever mend when he died at age 14.

My Third Dog was.... NOT FREE....I paid $20 for him and I loved him... played with him... fed him the best foods.. paid his vet bills... he slept by the bed, kept me company on long walks... and I cried till I could cry no more when he passed away at 13.

My Fourth Dog was.....FREE... I picked him up lost and abandoned on the side of the freeway... I didn't need or particularly want a second dog at the time.... But I loved him... played with him.. fed him the best foods.. Paid for veterinary care and later when he had severe arthitis, spent many hundreds on suppliments to keep him comfortable till I had to have him laid to rest at 14. And I cried... and thanked God for the stranger that came to stay with us for so many years.

My Fifth Dog ... My CURRENT Dog... was..... NOT FREE..... I paid $80 for him... And I love him.. and I play with him.. and I pay the vet when he needs it.. and he sleeps by my bed, and he gets the best of foods, and he follows me everywhere and I hope that we will get to love him for many more years until it's time for him to pass on and we will cry and our hearts will break and we will miss him.

Somewhere in this short story of my life with dogs... And I could easily write another much longer story about my life with many, many horses... some free.. some rescued.. some paid a small price for and some paid a high price for... Somewhere in the stories... I hope is a lesson.

Every animal in my care... for whatever reason it came and at whatever cost.... Got the same kind of care. They got the BEST care I could give... and sometimes... because of sacrifice.. they got better care than prudently affordable or necessary. Did it matter the price I paid for them?.... IT DID NOT!..... Nor will it ever. And I seriously doubt it matters in many other homes across the world... People either value their pets or they don't... I have seen just as many neglected pets and livestock come from "rich" homes as I have poor.

It is not the money that takes care of an animal... It is the heart of the people or person they live with. The poorest person will find a way if they love enough.

If you ask me... charging a high fee to "ensure a good home", is just a lazy persons way out of not feeling guilty for the fact that they do not want to take enough time to find out if the home they are selling their pet to is adequate. It's a lot easier to take someones money and tell yourself that you did the right thing, than it is to take the time to get to know someone, or to go look at their home.. or to draw up an agreement on their care with a return clause, to get references and to follow up with checks over the next days, weeks and months.

To take this argument to the ridiculous.... One of my children was born when we had really great insurance and guess what?... She was ... FREE!..... My Second child, we didn't have good insurance.... She cost... ALOT!!!... I wonder if we are less of a good home for the first one?.... Maybe I should love the second one a bit more since she cost so much?...

This is long... but hopefully the message is clear.... Money can buy a lot of things... and certainly you should ask prospective homes if they can afford the upkeep of a pet... even go as far as to list out some of the expenses....But take the time to make sure you are finding a good home... don't use making money as a cop-out to get out of your responsibilities.

You may find... that the most loving thing you can do for your pet is to place him in a home for.... Free...

I will give you a flip side to the situation... when you need to rehome your pet... when you are "desperately seeking good home asap"... Letting someone "rescue" you from your situation... can give them a sense of pride for doing something good for both animal and human... that is a value that is much greater than money and may in the end go the farthest towards giving your pet a great life.

Thank you for reading this.. I hope it is taken in good spirit and gives another point of view on the subject of "rehoming fees"... God Bless

There are some vets who take advantage of their clients, I agree with you on that. But, I do think you need to shop around more. I mean, research and make price comparisons.

I live downtown and I don't own a car. So I made a choice to go to the vet nearest by. There are four clinics near where I live and I did some price comparisons and also talked with people who went to all those clinics and got some really good references for the vet that I have.
I can't say the prices are great, because the reality is, they're all the same around where I live. ( i live in the plateau) So, naturally it's expensive all around.

Some might not charge you for the consultation and will just charge you for checking whatever is wrong with him, say like his eyes. I don't know of one that does that. My vet doesn't.
If I go, I pay for the consultation and or exams of they need one. If i take him back the week after for something else, they will charge me for the consultation. Sure, it sucks. That's how they make their money. Am i sucker? No, again, i made a choice to go here.

I go to my vet because he's 3 blocks away from my place and has good references for many clients. I like my vet, he's an excellent vet and yes he's a bit more expensive then some.

IF i had a car, I would go here. hopital veterinaire taschereau, 303 lawrence, greenfield park. 450-465-6511.
see at this place getting your female cat fixed will cost you 70 bucks.
My vet charged me 150 dollars tax incl.

I heard that this clinic is also great.

So yes, there are vets that are more pricy then others, it sucks. But some people don't mind forking an extra moneyy for there cats or dogs, cause they can afford it or because they can't bother or can't make it to another vet that is too far away.

Again, you're not clear about what your cat had or has. But it sounds to me that you should call around some other vets and find out how much it cost for whatever treatment your cat had and compare from there. Although, do expect that, the clinic the one mentioned above with phone number, will be cheaper..

Good luck. | I think screening who is coming to get the dog would be good and not everyone is from lab testing places.

I sometime think people are reselling them to far way pet shops or something but I do believe good people are out there and some of the adoption places have heavy fees...so heavy that people may go elsewhere to get a dog.
| To All Pet Lovers: A Very Important Problem

I have recently discovered that my local vet is over-charging to the extreme and I am unsure of what to do about it. On two separate occasions I have gone with my sick animal, gotten a consultation and then an estimate of what the treatment would cost to nurse my dear baby back to health. My local vet has now twice handed me an estimate for upwards of 1000$, with the stern warning that this could very well increase, due to extra anesthesia time, extra x-rays etc. Now I love my pets more than anything, and although I felt that I was being looked at like an abusive mother and being barraged with statements like "Well this didn't happen over night and it may very well get worse" I said that I would have to go home and think about it as this is a huge expense. My first reaction was to just book the appointment right then, as this is what they were pushing for, but a friend's warning was spurring me to ask about this surgery further.

I did ask further.

Both times, the estimate and what the actual charge was, when all was said and done, was, no word of a lie, 800$ cheaper.

What could you do with eight hundred dollars?

A month's rent for my spouse and I.

I booked a ticket to Mexico last year for 750$.

Approximately 40 bags of 8lb cat food...the good stuff.

The second vet assured me that a lot of the charges that were on my huge print out from the first vet, were in fact unnecessary and to him, emotional blackmail.

I don't want this to happen any longer - it simply disgusts me beyond most things my creative mind can summon.

So friends, I need your help...What's the best strategy here? I don't want to go to jail for slander, because these are definitely not lies but I don't know how exactly to handle a subject so sensitive.

Thanks for your time and help,

A Fellow Animal Lover.

Please Note: I’d pay for my cat’s surgery well before I bought any ticket to Mexico; I was just trying to further illustrate the ridiculousness of the amount.
Also, Just advice.

I strongly recommend that if you have cats you should leave them in your house and have someone come and take care of them. Do not leave them with friends or someone you know. I can't tell you how many times I have heard and seen posters of lost cats because of this reason alone. Some people leave their cats at someones house and someone acidently opens the door or lets them out and the cat goes missing. Because the cat is not in his territory and will try and find his/her home. Or worse, gets hit by a car because the cat never went out in the first place.

Unless you leave them with someone who is responsible and hopefully with no roomates that are allergic or have no clue of how to take care of a cat( obviosuly not their fault or their responsibility)
Just have someone come and sit them or leave them at a sitters house that offers that service.

When you offer animals 'free to a good home' you are more likely to encounter people who might PRETEND to be well intended and LOVE the animal, but who really want the animal for nefarious reasons such as:

lab testing
mill breeding
hoarding
general abuse

An adoption fee is really a small gesture that ensures some kind of investment from the person adopting your pet. Also PLEASE SCREEN POSSIBLE ADOPTION HOMES...in other words be sure to visit the environment in which your beloved pet will be moving to. This is not an unreasonable request. Ask yourself-do "I" feel comfortable and safe here? If you don't, chances are your pet will not either.

Hi,

My friend found a kitten in a alley two weeks ago and asked me to take care of her because she was alergic.

Unfortunatly I can't keep her, So I am looking for a good loving home for her. She is about 10 weeks old
I don't want to make money on her but before she lives for her new family i'll go to the vet to give her the vaccins and try to see if we could do like a "deposit" to make sure that she will be sterelised (there is enough cats looking for homes)
So you'll have to pay something but if will only be for her health.

She is very playfull, clean and LOVES my dogs!

Our cat scratching posts are not only great for your cat but are also great looking.
These posts attractively blend in very well with your homes decor. We offer a wide selection of plush fur colors and wood trim tone combinations to choose from.

8 Color Choices

The Kat Condo DX-300 scratching post has a height of 32" (81cm) and a base size of 16"x16" (40cm x 40cm) which means your cat can fully stretch while using the scratch post, and the large heavy base size will prevent the post from tipping over during use, that will give your cat an enjoyable experience during every scratch.

Most cat scratching posts sold elsewhere are usually to short and to flimsy for your cat to really fully appreciate them.
Our posts are the exact opposite of the average cat post.
We build the Kat Condo DX-300 cat scratching post with only one thing in mind Quality!!
With our posts we use all natural sisal rope on all our products because sisal rope is the preferred scratching surface by cats.
Cats love to dig their claws into rough sisal rope and cats love the smell and feel of fresh sisal rope and actually prefer sisal rope over any other material including carpet.

Top Quality

Our sisal rope is not only wound extremely tight to our cat scratching posts but the sisal rope is also glued during the wrapping process with a completely 100% non-toxic, no odour glue which makes the sisal rope rock solid to the cat posts surface which is absolutely necessary for an unmatched scratching surface for your cat and that simply makes cats happy.

The Kat Condo DX-300 scratching post also includes a 8"x8" (20cm x 20cm) round top perch covered in plush fur for your cat to enjoy.
We use soft plush fur fabric on all our posts for the extra comfort for your cat.
Cats love the feel of soft plush fur fabric and prefer this material over carpet.

Our main concern is always first and foremost the safety of your pet, PERIOD!!!
We concentrate not only on building the best cat post possible but also we think about your pets comfort and safety during every post we build.

Some important safety issues we addressed are that we round most edges of the post down so there are no sharp edges that your cat can be injured on during use.
Another important safety issue would be that we do not use toxic materials in our products, all glues, wood stains and paints are non-toxic and impose no threat to you or your pet.

Safe For Your Cat

We also apply extra padding under our fur material for additional softness and comfort for your cat.
Another safety issue we addressed while designing the Kat Condo DX-300 scratching post was Stability.

Stability is a very important factor of safety and overall usability of the scratching post by your cat.
Most posts available are not stable and tip over easily which will discourage your cat from using the post again.
We have a large 16"x16" (40cm x 40cm) double layer heavy-duty wood base for a very stable unit. We also add additional weight to the post itself by inserting the lower half of the post with crushed stone which basically increases the weight of the post.

One Stable Post

All the weight is focused towards the lower half of the post so the unit will be more stable and not top heavy. This process adds for a more stable cat post which in the end equals to a more satisfied cat.
In order for our posts to be attached firmly to the base we use thick solid wood (not plastic) plugs on our posts with a heavy duty bolt which assures a strong firm post that will not wobble or break.

Another important feature we added was non-slip grips pads attached to the bottom of the feet of the base. This prevents the post from sliding sideways on non carpeted surfaces such as hardwood floors, vinyl or tiles.

Will Not Damage Or Slide On Hardwood Floors

Our cat posts are very unique and well made and we clearly believe our posts are the best on the market today.

I am writing this posting for my mom, she does not really how to use the computer that well!

My mom has an one year old Yorkie female and recently lost her 10 year old Springer ( one month ago). She now feels ready to get another dog to care for and for her "Ruby" ( her Yorkie). Ruby is fixed and is very social with all dogs she has met. My mom is home most of the day and has a fenced in back yard. She is excellent with all animals and really understand the work and commitment needed to adopt a dog. She preferably would like a younger dog who gets along with other dogs and cats. Although she does not have any cats, my sister does and my mom brings her dog along when she travels. WE totally understand if you would like to have us fill out an adoption form or need reference.

If you know anyone who is trying to find a good home for their Yorkie or a rescue that has one for adopted, please let us know.

Thanks
