Overview
<br>
<br>
The Vulnerability Management Program provides monitoring/alerting, analysis and reporting function for Managed Security Services’ customer devices as well as supporting the secure infrastructure utilized by the Security Operations Centres. Vulnerability alerts are received from vendors and/or a subscription service (possible other internal sources). The Vulnerability Management Officer is responsibile for ensuring the alerts are assessed according to standard methodology and corrective action is implemented to reduce the level of risk. The program uses a standard methodology based on CVSS to assess risk.

Responsibilities:

• Daily tasks include vulnerability identification, system and network auditing and compliancy reporting
<br>
<br>
• Acting as the single point of contact for vulnerability
<br>
<br>
• Co-ordinating\assigning ownership of vulnerability tickets, assignment to Security Analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SME) for ticket analysis
<br>
<br>
• Escalating and tracking security issues with system administrators and subject matter experts to remediate vulnerabilities using vendor recommended solutions or utilizing existing detective and / or preventative controls.
<br>
<br>
• monitoring and updating tickets with additional vulnerability information
<br>
<br>
• communicating the status of both vulnerability alerts/announcements as well as the ticket state
<br>
<br>
• Work with established standardized process management, Security Operations policies, procedures and standards
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
Must have:
<br>
<br>
An extensive appreciation for these secure environments and an advanced understanding of multiple managed devices practices and technologies including
<br>
<br>
- Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, ACS, SecurID, etc. Vendors include Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, RSA, Sourcefire, etc.
<br>
<br>
- Server operating systems, including Linux (RedHat), Solaris and Windows,
<br>
<br>
- network device firmware (IOS, etc)
<br>
<br>
- General knowledge of web applications (Web Sphere, Apache) and databases (Oracle, MS SQL).
<br>

Education and Background Requirements
<br>
<br>
• Excellent understanding of mitigating controls at the systems, network, and application level
<br>
<br>
• Experience with security auditing tools, development of threat assessments and security testing methodologies.
<br>
<br>
• Bilingual, French/English (written and spoken)
<br>
<br>
• ITIL, ISO 27001:2005 or ISO 9001 Certification preferred
<br>
<br>
• CISSP, CISA or CISM Certification is an asset
<br>
<br>
• Capacity to translate business needs to technical requirements
<br>
<br>
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics and build consensus among business and technical constituents.
