<![CDATA[Community Players will stage its 10th Anniversary of A Christmas Carol (A Ghost Story) on December 5-7, 11-14, 18-19 at 3220 Bell Road, Nashville, TN 37214. Show times are Thursday – Saturday 7pm; Sundays at 2pm. The production features John Carpenter as Bob Crachit and welcomes Phil Brady back as Scrooge. Going back to the original text by Mr. Dickens, this production is presented in a story theatre fashion on an impressive six level stage. Of this year's production, director David Hutson has to say, "This version of A Christmas Carol does something no other movie, TV show, or play I have ever seen has done. It brings you the voice of Charles Dickens. Most people are familiar with this story, but few have actually read the book. Instead of reinterpreting, adapting, and taking artistic license as I have done in past years, I reduced the process down to simply editing Dickens own words and dividing them between three narrators to bring his voice back to the story. Nothing has been added and every aspect possible of the story has been restored to the basic elements that made this one of the most popular and endearing books ever written. My home was in foreclosure, and these "people" "helped" me by buying my house short-sale, and you are right, I got no money. It helps your credit some, but not near as much as they say because all bankers KNOW what a short sale is! If they were really trying to help me, they would have given, or bought something from me for at least $5,000 to get on my feet, again, and then short-saled my house, Even $2,000! People "buy" things everyday, some for cheap, some for over price. Irregardless, they ended up making about $21,000 out of my house after spending $8,000 to remodel it. They didn't help anyone, but themselves!!! Acted like I should be grateful they saved my credit. It's really hard to restore your credit if you've lost everything!! Basic sewing classes are 3 hours long and the cost is $30.00 or you can purchase a series of 4 weeks, payable at signup for $100.00. Class size is limited to 5 people. I provide handouts of information covered. Student is responsible for purchasing pattern, fabric and supplies. Quilting classes are $45.00 for a beginner’s class. This is a two session series, two hours each meeting, which will cover using basic tools, cutting, sewing a ¼ “seam and piecing a simple project. A second two session series is available for $45.00, which will take you through completing the project. Other projects are priced per project. With the current economy it’s a great time to learn to sew, as well as make some holiday projects. This also makes a great gift for someone who has expressed an interest in learning sewing. ]]>

Under the direction of vocal coach and conductor Renee Grant-Williams, they will perform A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, and Four Motets for the Season of Christmas by Francis Poulenc as well as seasonal works by various Pre-Renaissance composers. This concert will honor the memory of Wallace Rasmussen, the original benefactor of the Music City Community Chorus. Retired businessman and philanthropist Wallace Rasmussen died Sunday September 21, 2008 after an extended illness. Mr. Rasmussen was a past chairman and CEO of Beatrice Foods a major American food processing company. MC3 founder and director Renee Grant-Williams has this to say, “Without Wallace Rasmussen there would be no Music City Community Chorus today. As we have come to know him through the last three years, it has become clear that Wallace was a giant of a man, one who opened his mind and heart, as well as his wallet, to the endeavors that interested him. He has created a legacy of generosity that few can rival.” The Music City Community Chorus provides an opportunity for a wide range of singers to experience classical music, to learn new skills, and to grow vocally.
