I am a Christian woman and have been a violinist for over 35 years and have taught many children over the years. I try and make it a fun and fulfilling experience for them by using humor and encouragement. For the beginning student I recommend a 50 minute lesson per week. I charge $20.00 per lesson. Most Teachers only give your child a 1/2 hour lesson per week for the same price. I feel the extra time is needed to teach them how to read music from the start. I encourage at least one parent stay for the lesson. I will teach them how to play the instrument and read music at the same time. We will have 2 recitals each year so the children can show their families what they have learned while experiencing the art of performing which is an important part of learning an instrument while increasing their confidence.
