Senior Database Administrators are responsible for the maintenance of operational database and systems for the entire Active Outdoor Recreational Licensing transaction processing systems on a daily basis. They manage the daily administration, along with implementation, of the Oracle Database and Application Server environments. They provide advanced technical and operational support to the entire Active Outdoor Staff, troubleshoot data and program issues and UNIX problems (Solaris and Linux) and instruct staff on approved policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
<br>
Administration of Oracle 10g RAC Database and Application Server environments
<br>
Maintain System and Database Administration documentation
<br>
Maintain Oracle Data Guard replicated sites
<br>
Monitor and Maintain Oracle ASM Storage
<br>
Lead special project teams
<br>
Apply current policies and procedures to incoming requests
<br>
Monitor and maintain database performance
<br>
Monitor and maintain UNIX system performance
<br>
Troubleshoot systems that are not operational, determine source of problem and resolve

Work with DBA staff, other internal teams and vendors to resolve technical problems

Coordinate server maintenance plans

QUALIFICATIONS

2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
<br>
Minimum 5 years industry experience in Database Administration with Oracle 10g

Ability to write/troubleshoot SQL statements for correctness and performance
<br>
Advanced knowledge of Oracle Database and Application Server Administration
<br>
Knowledge of Data Guard, RMAN and Oracle Advanced Replication
<br>
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and associated tools
<br>
Advanced knowledge of Solaris, Linux, and Microsoft Operating Systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide escalated support by investigating and resolving complicated hardware and Windows Server operating system issues
<br>
- Develop expert understanding of technical best practices for Windows Server systems and provide recommendations for improvement
<br>
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows based servers and perform post provisioning tasks such as backups, monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery planning

- Provide appropriate communication, facilitate bringing other parties together, and complete post resolution reporting for high severity incidents
<br>
- Provide mentorship to more junior personnel, and drive projects and tasks handed down by leadership

- Develop and maintain effective relationships with 3rd Party partners

- Participate in on-call rotation, receiving and responding to afterhours alerts

- Identify and evaluate new technologies that can improve processes within IT and the business as a whole

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
