<![CDATA[Looking for three people to fill the below roles in a 4-5 minute short film called Winter Treads. Prior acting experience is not necessary. Race/ethnicity is not important, just important that all three characters look related. This is a southern story and having a southern accent (preferably natural) is important. It is a short scene of life on a farm. It will be filmed just outside of Nashville. The Father and Nate characters are in the entire scene within Cole coming in at the end. Will be one or two days of filming and a day or two of rehearsal, most likely on weekends within the next month and a half. The only compensation will be meals during filming and a copy of the finished product. This will be submitted to festivals and would be good for your reel. I (Director/Producer) just moved back to Nashville from New York City and have ties to the NY and LA film industry. I intend on using this short film as a calling card for future work and will be sending it out to industry professionals across the country. I will also be using this short film to raise funds for a 15 minute short film to be shot in the Spring. The characters in the 15 minute short are similar so this role may turn into two opportunities for exposure. Father Age: 30 - 60 He is a farmer. He works hard to provide for his family and expects the same of his sons. He may not have much formal education, but is wise in ways that only someone who has worked the land all of his life can be. Nate Age Range: 12-20 He is the older son. While not exactly perfect in his father's eyes, he is more like his father than his younger brother, Cole. He takes more interest in the family business and it comes naturally. In the script this character is around 12, but would prefer older actors than look young and could even stretch this character's age to 16 or 17. Cole Age Range: 10-18 He is the younger son, 2-4 years younger than Nate. He has a wandering mind that gets caught up in the books that he reads. He's too young to think he won't be a farmer, but can't help his thoughts from drifting away from his household chores. In the script this character is around 10, but would prefer older actors than look young and could even stretch this character's age to 13 to 15. The movie entails a lot of action on the roadway, so we need a lot of drivers to become the "traffic" of the road. Your job is to drive as directed down closed streets to simulate daily traffic conditions. We need all types of vehicles from cars to trucks to everything else in-between. No speaking lines are needed, but some "driver reactions" would be wonderful and might be included in the film. Everything is done safely by professionals, so everyone will have a good time. A great way to get paid for just sitting in your vehicle or driving around slowly. Hours vary through out the day depending on the stunts or scenes being filmed. So many shifts of drivers are available. Cart being behind the horse, I want to find the band first and actually rehearse and put together a really good show.
