Hi my name is Jean Richard, most people call me Ricky and its terrible that this will be my first posting on CL. I live in the McKibbin Lofts in Bushwick,NY. I have been going through a very serious and rough financial crisis since the Haitian earthquake, followed by a death in the family. I owe 1500 dollars in back rent to be paid by March 22nd and I have looked everywhere for help and no one can really help or even offered. I called a bunch of numbers, and a charity.Tomorrow I'm going to HRA to see if they can help. I am not usually in a crisis like this and I am a pianist, hip hop artist and producer. I also own some web domains I'm looking to sell and also I'm looking to split my event planning business with somebody 50% if they are willing to help me out towards my back rent in anyway. Some web domains I own include Beatberries.com and ComeToThisParty.com,.net,ant other domain names as well. I am also a copy writer and creative writer and I am willing to sell my intellectual property and rights to publish to them for a very very small fee. I am 23 years old, I am educated, this is not a scam, this is as real as it gets. I do not deserve to be homeless or evicted and to be honest I am new to this whole thing, not to being a starving artist, but I'm new to being a starving artist in this situation. With everything going on in Haiti plus a recent funeral, my family literally lost thousands upon thousands of dollars, literally just lost. I need someone to please give me an email back or a call with information on how they can help me. Please. This is very serious and both my roommates and my landlord are pressuring me and not only is it rendering me unbearable discomfort, humiliation and stress, but it is also has been really affecting my creativity and my work. I also recently got a job with Save The Children but will not be getting paid for another three weeks. So it is not like I'm unemployed and free loading. I genuinely need help. Like really bad. If someone out there with a huge heart and extra money to spare, PLEASE CALL ME (RICKY ) at 516 499 1814 on my cell phone. Please. Or email me at manymonikers@gmail.com You can click on the reply link here as well.. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for offering your help.

--Ricky
manymonikers@gmail.com

I'm a photographer starting a project for a group show around the theme of "confessionals". I'm working through the idea and how I want to shoot it but have a literal place I'd like to begin.

I'd like to come to your apartment (this is key in my mind as it will be you in your space, as opposed to a studio) and sit your down in a chair infront of a camera. Over the course of 30 minutes or so I'll ask you a series of questions, random for the most part (actually they might be completely random, generated by a computer program) and as you answer them one by one I'll direct you to remove an item of clothing. You'll be sitting to start but may be standing at some points and sitting at others. By some point you'll be naked. I'll actually be capturing this intital session on video, using a little canon point and shoot. I'm not so interested in the video, rather taking stills from it to figure out if my ideas work or not.

The final project will be shot on film and in black and white. I'm still undecided if I'll use medium format or 35mm film with a motion camera and take stills from the 35mm. I want to test it digitally first before I invest in the equipment.

I know this isn't for everyone and maybe me asking to shoot you in your own space seems sketchy. I've already shot a series in this idea in my studio and they didn't give me what I wanted. I can explain more if you wish.

Please be female and ideally have worked as a figure model before. For your time, 45mins or so I'll pay $50 for this test shoot. If you have the look and vibe I want we will do more shoots at a better rate. Like i said this is a test and I'm looking for the right model for the piece.

I can provide samples if you want and explain anything you might be wondering about.

Please respond with a link to your book or a image or two.

PLEASE READ THIS LISTING FULLY BEFORE BYPASSING IT. This is a legitimate opportunity that has a unquestionable realistic possibility of a financial payoff while allowing an artist/ dealer to do what they love. This ad was posted in NYC so as to reach a broader network of artists, although our home is in Maplewood, NJ (approx 25 minutes outside the city). I

So I was discussing with my father the other day about a really great coffee table we have in our storage. It was custom made in the 1970's for my father while he was in dental school by an artist who specialized in custom made dowel tables made from individual dowels. My father, an avid backgammon fan, commisioned an artist to have a 3-tiered dowel backgammon table made for him. He has kept it in excellent condition for 40 years. I was very serious when I said to him, that with some minor finishing and veneering by an appropriate person, this table could easily sell for thousands. A very shrewd, conservative businessman himself, he said " Yeah, absolutely." So you're probably asking why we don't hire someone to refinish it and sell it ourselves? The answer is too much time and energy for a very large piece that has no appropriate space in our home for it once refurbished to its original luster.

The proposed offer is to purchase this table for $600 and let you refinish it as you deem necessary. With about 7 or 8 hours of work, this piece can be undoubtedly resold for at least $1500 if not thousands more. I have never seen another table like this, ever. If you have any doubt as to the quality and originality of this piece, feel free to come take a look at our home outside the city. This is NOT a throwaway item unlike much of the junk on craigslist. While this ad might seem like a SALE ad, it very much is opportunity to make money, although initially spending it.

The piece is 39" x 39"x20".

Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking.

So I'm fairly new to New York City. I'm in my mid-20's and I moved up here on a whim and secured some odd jobs while I pursue what I hope may turn into a life spent writing for a living. It's very walking-cliche, I know, but cliches exist for a reason, I guess.

Anyway, I'm looking for any other aspiring or established writers who may be interested in collaborating on projects. I've already got several treatments established for scripts of all genres, etc. I'm just of the mind that writing as a collaborative process more often yields better results. I studied screenwriting at a school not in New York and received my bachelors degree in it. So, for the most part I know what I'm doing as far as the technical aspects of writing are concerned. I think my ideas are decent enough, nothing that couldn't be improved with constructive input though.

I'm not really sure how to sum up what I'm looking for. I guess it's best just to say that if you're a "decent" aspiring writer with good tastes in what's available in pop culture right now and you subscribe to the collaborative school of thought, or the idea of a writing partner doesn't freak you out, let me know.

Have a nice day.
