Hello-
I had an idea for a Home Design television show and decided to pitch it to a family member who is a Network Executive at NBC UNIVERSAL.
He liked the synopsis and suggested I shoot a pilot.

That is where I stand.
I have the concept, the location, the subject, the design crew, the work load - All I need is a Counterpart that would be able to film this redesign project, have a good eye that would appeal to Execs reviewing this footage, have good editing skills (so the final cut does not look like an amateur with a hand held)

The work load would consist of a few interview pieces; on site filming before, during and after; and some footage to set the story for location.
I already have a Voice Over Talent and Sound Engineer to take care of final audio editing.

Under these circumstances, it is obviously I don't have alot of money to invest in this pilot but I do need to work with someone that does have some experience.

If this sounds like a risk that you would like to involve yourself in please write back.
I believe that the total filming process will be no longer than 3 weeks spread out and editing must be complete within a week or two after.

Thanks, I look forward to finding someone to work with.

I'm a film student working on my thesis film for the next school quarter. Looking to film within the months of May or June. Seeing as how I only have access to public transportation, I can't go around looking at dozens of interior locations to possibly film in only to have them turn me down and losing money just on travel.

I seek a location scout with credits to scout around for 1 location that fits properly with my film script. The interior is a restaurant, very simple. I will scout 4 locations by this week. However I need to secure 2 or more just incase of problems with any location I get. As a location scout, you would be asked to reach a location and speak with management about a possible overnight student film shoot.

As for details that you can relate to management. they are as follows:
- a low budget student thesis film
- overnight shoot during closed hours
- crew (no more than 4) and cast (no more than 3) presence for 6 - 7 hours total for filming

- need to have 3 days secured for filming (Friday - Sunday)
- minimal equipment including camera with boom mic attached, tripod, small 3 piece Lowel kit
- insurance coverage available
- location contract signing
- screen credit if requested

For the location scout, I have money available in my budget to pay once locations are secured. If you're available for the job, I can provide a copy of my production book (script, cast, stylistic templates, etc.) that can be handed or emailed to you so that you can present it to management per their request. If you'd like to work on the actual filming production then you would be assigned as a script supervisor and PA with credits.

Really? Edit your feature for what amounts to $2.50/hour? And supply the (expensive) workstation and software? Do the color corrections and ADR work too? Really?

Let me guess: you lost your last editor because (s)he expected more than slave wages, and couldn't take your 'direction'?

I have a better idea - why don't you just put your project on hold until you can raise the funds with which to pay somebody a respectable and fair amount for their work?

By the way, credits and copy are included with every project. It is probably the most commonly accepted practice in filmmaking and is not at all an attraction to any project - it is expected and given without even mention.

In need of an editor with experience with Documentary, Reality TV and Demo/Trailers. We are cutting 3 demo's for new series over the next 2 weeks. The editor must own their own Final Cut System. Its also important to have experience editing sizzle reels because the style needs to mix a music video like style with documentary storytelling. This position can grow into a longer much higher paid opportunity if the first project meets the producers requirements. Being these are demo's they need to be edited for a lower day rate, although you will be able to enter an agreement for whatever demo cut, if it sells in any format, a right of first refusal to become a senior editor on the show. We must start ASAP. Please reply with your best day rate, whether you have your own FC system and your availability over the next week |
