If you watch the news you will see that the economy is so bad and people are loseing their jobs and their houses. So I think yall need to take programs. Its guaranteed money for the landlord and the brokers. So what u have to go though inspection. If your apt don't pass you know that's its illegal and don't rent it. Also, everyone with programs is ghetto. Some people just are down on their luck and trying to get back on their feet. And why must credit be an issuse. If the money comes from the government you know you'll gonna get paid. <![CDATA[Hi, I am looking for a landlord or home owner who would consider accepting section 8 housing, or know someone who would accept section 8 housing, for a 54 year old man, my father, who was disabled from a stroke in 2001. He has paralysis - his right arm,but he's very independent on his own. We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to have section 8, and need to act soon because we only have a limited time to find an apartment. My father currently lives in an apartment, but it does not and will not be considered acceptable under HUD regulations for passing inspections. I am looking for a legal, one-bedroom apartment, ground level, in East Northport, Elwood, or Commack vicinity. The landlord must submit to an inspection to clear the apartment for Section 8. He is clean, neat, quiet. He does not have any pets and does not smoke. Rent will be paid on time each month by accepting section 8. We would be able to cover with the voucher program up to 1200.00 monthly for a decent apartment, if it included everything (elec,gas,heat/hotwater/or cooking gas). If it doesn't, let's negotiate. We also simply cannot afford for him to continue to live where he's at and need to use this opportunity to use section 8 to get him situated in a stable place. I know people have comman misconceptions about accepting section 8, but please consider that he was self-sufficent and working until he had a stroke at work and underwent many obstacles to be as he is today.
