I read all these posts and all I see is no programs, no programs, no programs! If you watch the news you will see that the economy is so bad and people are loseing their jobs and their houses. So I think yall need to take programs. Its guaranteed money for the landlord and the brokers.

So what u have to go though inspection. If your apt don't pass you know that's its illegal and don't rent it. Also, everyone with programs is ghetto. Some people just are down on their luck and trying to get back on their feet. And why must credit be an issuse. If the money comes from the government you know you'll gonna get paid.

So before you say NO PROGRAMS just think about how you can hepl a single mom or just a family how needs an apartment so they won't have to spend they holidays in the shelter.

Thanx
Reta

Hello:
I am looking for a livable, clean and decent room or apartment to share. I also like my space so i would prefer roommate/s who respect my privacy and is open minded as I would towards you. Anyways, I need to move before I have to resign another year's lease on my apartment, so if you are a clean, law abiding, respectful person who has a clean, decent, LIVABLE apartment or available room please get back to me. Thank you!

Serious Replies only, I would prefer a fellow student or someone my age bracket, would prefer a clean dude or a very cool female. oh, I looking to pay 650 max, with basic utility included. My biggest pet peeve is a dirty bathroom!!!!!
Hi,
I need to sublet a room or apartment starting in December. I'd like something fairly long term. Move in date is flexible, as long as it's before January 1! I'm a 28 year old female who works for a magazine, and I also have a part time job. Furnished is fine, but if it's unfurnished, that works as well. I have no pets, but I am fine with them. I'm pretty quiet and respectful and not interested in drama. I love to cook, read, and watch movies.

I hope to hear from you!
Hi, I am an international student from Paris currently studying at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. I am searching to share an apartment for a December 1st move in and pay a rent between 600$ to 800$ per months until at least June 2009. I prefer to live in Manhattan but would consider any place in near a line that would take me directly to the New School. Overall I hope to live in a nice sized room and not a gloomy room as I saw a lot of those in New York. I am laid back and friendly. I am 22 year old, male, and would strongly prefer to share with young people. Being a jazz musician like me is really a plus but if you are a student or a young professional in the art field it would also be great. I search also people that would let me practice in the apartment. People let me practice at reasonable hours at my current place, so I expect to have the same liberty to practice in my new place. I am enjoying New York city and go out a lot, but I am not searching to make parties in the apartment, I prefer hanging out in the city. As I already said I am very friendly and will be glad to hang out with my roommates at some occasion if we match well. I am very mature having already lived four years in a an apartment in Paris. If you are interested email me back so we can arrange for a meeting and a visit of the place.

Thank you, I am looking forward to meet you

Hi, I am looking for a landlord or home owner who would consider accepting section 8 housing, or know someone who would accept section 8 housing, for a 54 year old man, my father, who was disabled from a stroke in 2001. He has paralysis - his right arm,but he's very independent on his own. We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to have section 8, and need to act soon because we only have a limited time to find an apartment. My father currently lives in an apartment, but it does not and will not be considered acceptable under HUD regulations for passing inspections. I am looking for a legal, one-bedroom apartment, ground level, in East Northport, Elwood, or Commack vicinity. The landlord must submit to an inspection to clear the apartment for Section 8.
He is clean, neat, quiet. He does not have any pets and does not smoke. Rent will be paid on time each month by accepting section 8. We would be able to cover with the voucher program up to 1200.00 monthly for a decent apartment, if it included everything (elec,gas,heat/hotwater/or cooking gas). If it doesn't, let's negotiate.
We also simply cannot afford for him to continue to live where he's at and need to use this opportunity to use section 8 to get him situated in a stable place. I know people have comman misconceptions about accepting section 8, but please consider that he was self-sufficent and working until he had a stroke at work and underwent many obstacles to be as he is today. Bad things happen to good people.
If you can help, or know someone who can help, please contact the above address. I appreciate anyone who can help out from reading this. Please take this into consideration and atleast think about it and we would love to meet you if your interested in possibly becoming a section 8 landlord.
We are looking in East Northport, Northport, Elwood, Greenlawn, Kings Park or Commack.
HUD has already cleared him for a criminal background check.
Thank you!

Hello!

We are a nice couple of Spain in the early 30. We are moving to New York the 15th of January. I will be working for the United Nations for two years. Specifically I will be working at the Development Programme with environmental issues. I have a degree in Environmental Science and I love travelling, knowing other cultures, reading, cinema, music, theatre... I have lived in Germany, England, Ecuador, Mali and other countries so I am very used to adapt me to new environments and people. I am very calm, I like to take care fo the place where I live, because I consider it my own house during the period of time I occupy it. I will be travelling with my spouse, he is economist and works also on humanitarian issues, he is very nice, and easygoing too. ( I send you a photograph of us!)

We were looking for a place, quiet and charmy. Not very far away from the UN Headquarters and with shopping facilities, because we have not car. We are still in Spain till the 15th, so we could not visit the apartment, and we would need to see some photographs of the apartment. If you were interesed in our application we could have a skype webcam conversation and get to know us. It is difficult to look for an apartment from Spain, but we need a place to arrive!. We are interested in short term subleting (one or two months) in order to have a place to arrive and afterwards look for something fix. But we are also interested in longer subletings. A fourth and final spacewalk, on Monday, will have astronauts adding grease to a twin joint on the opposite side of the space station that is working fine. As for the trouble with the water recycling system, no one was surprised. So I need to find somewhere to live in Manhattan, preferably a one- or two-bedroom place in a decent part of town. The economy is lousy, but, fortunately, I have around $20,000 that I can pay, in cash, as one year's advance rent on an apartment. If your need for short-term cash trumps your need to charge market rate rent for an apartment, then perhaps we can work something out. If this intrigues you, write and let me know about your place, and we can continue the discussion.

Hi there,

I'm looking for a new place to live before Thanksgiving. Currently subletting a place on Wall St. Roomies are moving out, so we all have to leave; I want to stay as close to downtown as possible. Need to move by November 25 (this Tuesday!!!) at the latest, if that works, in order to go to see my family in Austin, TX for Thanksgiving.

Prefer living with working professionals in their mid-late 20s (I'd rather live with females, but open to living with males - as long as they are clean in the common spaces). Luxury, full-service building with doorman/gym/roofdeck is preferred, but open to other options.

A little bit about myself:

27-year-old Asian female with an NYU Stern undergraduate business degree. Lived all over the US, Switzerland and Taiwan. Speak multiple languages (Chinese, German, French, etc.) Working full-time in e-commerce marketing since August 2005 at Brooks Brothers (with discounts!). Been in NYC since 2000. Non-smoker and no drugs. Extremely easy to get along with, easy-going, friendly and considerate. NEVER LATE WITH RENT CHECKS! I value cleanliness and respect common space and other people's belongings (it's the Swiss part of me - my mom raised me to be fastidious about cleaning and responsibility.) Enjoy playing/watching sports, exploring NY restaurants/nightlife, hanging out with my friends and watching LOST :) Love animals but would prefer not to live with one in an apartment...hope that makes sense. I definitely have minimal guests, as I am not in the apartment very often.

You can reach me via email or call/text me at my cell phone: 646 five five two 4014 if you have an available room (I prefer downtown Manhattan).

Please get back to me with a time you are available to show the apartment to see if it would be a good fit :)

Thanks for reading!

I'm a 21 year old male who works in television as an assistant editor for a major cable network. I currently live in Astoria and I'm looking for a new place. I'm very clean, considerate, neat, and responsible when it comes to living with roommates. I work a steady job 10am to 6pm everyday. I currently work during the day, but it's possible that I could switch to the night shift in the future. My recreational schedule is balanced between staying home and going out.

As far as my personal life goes, I'm interested in film/television, physical fitness, video games, good music, and new experiences. I'd prefer roommates that are social.

I'm open minded but there are a few things that I wouldn't be able to live with. That means no smoking and no drugs. So the ideal roommate is so someone that is clean, responsible, and respectful.

I'm only interested in living in the neighborhood of Astoria/Long Island City in Queens. The ideal rent for me is between $500 to $800. I'm looking to move in February/March. I'm kickstarting this search early, because I'd like to find the best roommate/apartment possible.

So if you're planning to move around February/March or you have a room that will open up feel free to send me an email.

Thanks for reading my ad. I look forward to hearing from you.
