Last Saturday we lost our beloved ChiChi after 18 wonderful years, being that it was late Saturday afternoon, her Vet was already gone for the weekend. I called the ER and the staff member that answered was so gentle and kind in explaining what needed to be done (as I had no idea) and when my son in law arrived with our baby, they were so caring with our grief. We had ChiChi cremated with Pet Angel thru the ER Vet and we felt so blessed in the way everything was handled for her with their professionalism and compassion. Thank you so much Dr. Hassan and Staff! Here are pictures of our baby.]]>

He is purebred, but is a little bigger than the standard calls for (14 inches tall, floor to shoulders) and weighs around 11 pounds. I recently bought him with his sister, but just have to many dogs and really wasn't thinking about it. He is up to date on all shots, just did the last set yesterday so he is good for a year. He is very shy at first, but does fine within a few hours of meeting someone. He has been great with children and doesn't mind other dogs. He is housebroken as long as you take him out every few hours. I usually just leave the back door open for him and then put him in a crate when no one is home. <![CDATA[I just read the post. That would really suck to have to go throgh that - verybad impression for your first time. They were in the wrong I agree. But as you said, "people should rave more about the good people". Well, I have went to Mayfair - it's where I always bring my little guy. I have never had a problem. They have always been great w/ him and never had to deal w/ any, "snobs". If someone asked me about them I would say highly recommended. He has always been treated w/ love and care when at Mayfair. It may not look perfect and pretty but he gets treated great. Just my two cents worth. Hope your pets are recovering great and good luck! :)]]>

<![CDATA[Hi all, Thank you all for the vet recommendations! We found one but not after having a bad experiance with another. We schedualed an appointment with Mayfair Vet in Kissimmi, keep in mind its a 45min drive from where I live in Orlando. I went through 2 people to finish making the appointment. They knew I had a long drive. I had alot of things schedualed for a cat and dog, considerable amoount of money and driving time. I get there and the blonde vet is a snob, rudely informs me that I need a cat carrier she will not take my girl in back without one. That I needed to BUY one from her, she wouldnt loan us one to carry her 10ft to the exam room. The schedualers failed to inform me of this, I wouldnt have got my family up at 6:30am and made the long drive in if I had known. If she wasnt so rude and snappy about it I would have looked over the schedualers mistake and payed to borrow one or bought one but I was having second thoughts when I walked in the office anyway. The office was dirty and cheap looking, coldish style with no sence of warmth or compassion. If the woman was going to have such a bad attitude and treatment of me and my family what prytell would she have done to my babies? So after rudely insisting I had to buy a carrier from her I told her no that the schedualers did not inform me and maybe they should have and the only thing I needed to do was find another vet. I walked out with babies and family in tow and found another vet. Considering I was not informed of the carrier rule and a new customer I think she could have loaned me a carrier to and from the exam room or just let me carry her back there. On our way home I saw a vets office, nice yard, little foutain. I pulled a U-ey and went in to see how they were and if they would take care of my pets without my little girl cat in a carrier. I told them what happened and they were appauled and got them in right away. The people from the front desk to nurses right to the doctors we all fantastic! The girls that even clipped thier nails were sweet as pie. The inside was warm and inviteing, cozey and clean. Dispite my disheveled/alternative appearance (getting a family up and ready plus our babies loaded and comfortable leave no time for the mom lol). The pricing was a bit more expensive but I was more then willing to pay the extra to know my girls were in good hands. They informed me of things to watch out for. They checked for flees, and earmites and alot of other things without adding everything they could to the bill. The cost of the over night recommended was included in my girl cats spaying, and when she got out of surgery I was called to me informed she made it through and how the stitching was done ect, by the Doctor herself not a nurse or desk woman! The doctor observed her personality and did the stitching a special way, if my cat was human she would be a nail biter and scab picker, lol, she would have chew/edscratched the stitches right out. She was kept over night so the doc could make sure she was ok and feeling well, well rested before comming home. My visit there was amazing and I have made another appointment with them for next mo. Sorry for the long post but people dont rave enough about the wonderful people that care for thier babies. The vet that Im raving about is South Orlando Animal Hospital, we saw Dr.Veal. She was more concerned about what she could do for them and how they were as individual personalities then she was about what I had in my pockets. She is an amazing woman, one of a kind! <![CDATA[A couple weeks ago I took in a stray. Actually he took us, I opened the door one day and in he walked. I decided to take him in and see if it would work. Unfortunatley it has not. My other male cat hates him and is going into depression from it. I also can only keep two pets in the apartment and we already have a dog as well. He is the sweetest cat I have ever met. I begged my roommate to trade our cat for him (of course I'm just kidding!). He is a HUGE cat. Not fat but long and tall. He is an orange tabby with the longest tail I have ever seen. He is special for many reasons buts mostly because he only has three legs. He has been neutered and appears to be reasonably young (maybe 2?). He uses the litter box perfectly and eats dry food. He acts more like a dog than a cat. Coming when called, greeting you at the door when you come in and begging to be pet. He would be a great companion for an older person, a young couple, or even someone with kids. Really he would be great for anyone! I cannot stress enough how sweet and gentle he is. You will be petting him and he will softly put his paw on your cheek and leave it there like hes trying to love you back. Please e-mail me if you think he would make a good companion in your home. When I realized it was thundering I ran out to get her into shelter and realized she had disappeared. I have no idea where she could be. Last time she was stuck under the shed for 12 hours till I realized she was there and dug her out. Now, I just cant find her anywhere. I have 5 acres and so does everyone else around me.
