<![CDATA[Well, I am trying to produce my own television show which be a reality-type show (interviews and events) and I am trying to do it at a low-rate which means that I am willing to also offer some deferred pay (not all of it mind you). As a professional myself, I do respect the time it takes for one to learn and perfect their skills, but even I sometimes am willing to give a break for something on the backend, or someone with a good project, but not all of the resources (I do web and database development, and doing that now to some young lads that I will be mentoring). Most of the shooting will be done in bars and restaurants, and maybe even one or two days of shooting at a timeshare right outside of AC. What I want is 2-camera HD shooting (can be DVCAM) with good lighting and sound (wireless lavalier's necessary). I can't take any audio out of sync (you know when you see their lips moving and the actual audio is happening 1/10 sec or more after). I'll also need a makeup person. One of the camera people could be the DP, but if not, then we'll need a DP. In some cases, I'll be shooting just like Mike Rowe on Dirty Jobs, meaning that I'll just need one cameraman and maybe someone else to help with lighting or sound. Ideally, I'd like to shoot four 30 minute segments in one 8-10 hour day. No, I am not crazy and it's very possible. Mind you, each 30 minute show is exactly 22 minutes, with probably no more thna 20 minutes of actual content. I am very interested in those other crazy folks with a can-do attitude and a willingness to actually produce something versus sitting around and waiting for some dream job. My goal is to shoot 13 episodes before January with taping starting in December. Summarily, I am looking at maybe a total of 5 days of shooting, though not continuous. We'll probably do mainly Sundays and Mondays, but I have some hookups at some other spots, so at times, we might be doing half days. That's about it. I got some quotes before for a crew in NYC that would charge me $200 per camera[person] per 4 hour day, which was great, but they are in NY. But if I can get that price out of folks in NYC, I know I can get close to that or a better price from some folks here. At the end of the day, work is work, and while better paying work pays better, it's not always there. Lastly, I have references for guys that I have used before that will tell you that I make sure that you are fed and paid!]]>

Our show - tentatively called - Journeys will be a blend of the Charlie Rose show, Larry King Live and On the Road with Charles Kuralt. We will have access to a wide variety of interesting interview subjects and will need a trusted assistant who will assist our research efforts and perhaps function as the "advance team". Apart from the broad responsibilities defined here, the position will be largely created by the person who fills the position. Accordingly, we are looking a creative, diligent, self starter who is just as willing as us to see where this goes. It should provide an excellent stepping stone (from an experiential standpoint at the very least) to a career in broadcasting. There is no compensation up front but there is a possibility of compensation if we are able to find sponsors for our show. Thus, candidates with an entrepreneurial bent will be highly regarded.
