Visual Acuity, Hearing, Speaking: •Must be able to speak, write and understand English proficiently. •Working knowledge of Italian is desirable, but not necessary. •Must be able to see clearly enough to safely navigate customer and Fres-co industrial sites and assess equipment. Environment and Scheduling: •Must be able to tolerate temperature extremes when assessing customer plants and equipment. Conditions are typical of southern USA cities, with non-air conditioned industrial locations (very hot and humid). Several customers are also located in Canada, and winter conditions are sometimes extremely cold and dry. •This position will require extensive overnight travel, both domestic and international. We estimate an average of 40 – 50% travel. Participate in all engineering design review and release meetings. Confer with engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and costs of tools. 5. Recommend the design of tools and processes for manufacturing, including jigs and fixtures for production or experimental use. Provide input to Engineering on the development of preliminary sketches in order to develop tool configuration. Recommend standard items for incorporation into tool design. Ensure modification of tool designs according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance. 6. Review proposals from outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment, select appropriate quotes and submit for review by management. 7. Identify and contact outside design firms to solicit information as to capabilities and pricing associated with work on design of new products. Assist to communicate project requirements, monitor the work of outside firms, and track projects to ensure compliance with established schedules. Create drawings, reports and charts related to any aspect of new product development projects. 8. Participate in the prototype design team, provide feedback on ease of assembly and recommend design changes. Build final prototypes as a test to ensure ease of assembly and document procedures. 9. Check out existing documents requiring updates, make required revisions, obtain approvals and check documents into control system. Write production checklists and production manuals for new assemblies for review and authorization by designers. Check in authorized documents to control system. 10. Responsible for workflow, routers, production efficiency improvements, Lean manufacturing, and MRP maintenance. 11. Help validate manufacturing BOMs, consult with engineers on BOM changes to support manufacturing needs.
