Bars, restaurants, gym, post office, trendy coffee shops, pizza, ect. Also, there is a Whole Foods within walking distance. The street is a quiet one, just down from the Eastern State Penitentiary. The people in the neighborhood are very nice and respectable, mainly a mix of young people and families. The building is a three-story walkup with the landlords occupying the first two floors. Aside from rent, the only bills are Comcast for the Internet, Peco and PGW. A washer / dryer are available to use. There is room in the front hall for your bike if you have one and there is a Philly Car Share spot right out front if you use that. The building is a short biking distance to Temple or downtown. The apartment itself is a big Ikea / Urban Outfitters nightmare but I guess that's the style these days so it's just as well. There is a lot of sunlight and the place is very clean and roomy. You can walk to both stations if you plan an extra 10 minutes or so. The house is a two-story, modified cape cod, with three bedrooms and a full bath (with a skylight) upstairs, and a living room, dining room, kitchen, den or office area , and full bath downstairs. There is also an unfinished basement with a washer and dryer. (Good working condition, but would not be replaced if they broke.) Outside is a private fenced back yard, a stone patio on a lower level, and a 12 x 12 deck on the lower level and a garage with a side yard. There is off-street parking for one car (unless you park two cars, and then move the second car when you need to move the first car). There is also a front yard, and street parking in front of the house. Lot size is 80' x 115'. The house is now available for immediate rental. We prefer to rent to non-pet owners, and non-smokers. References for prior housing and employment will be checked, as well as a credit check, as well as personal references. The security deposit is two months rent, and the utilities will probably run between $300.00 - $400.00. It has a brand new furnace and brand new air-conditioning, and a brand new dishwasher, and a one-year old over-the-stove microwave, and a garbage disposal unit. The refrigerator is nice and large and user-friendly. It may or may not be replaced if it should break. In the front of the house, there is an 8 x 14 enclosed sun porch, which can be used in the spring, summer and fall. The back yard is private and fenced. The house is fully air-conditioned, with ceiling fans in the bedrooms, and the kitchen and the den. The house is pretty to look at, and has nice views. The entire house has brand new light almond shade carpets. In addition to that, almost the entire interior of the house has been freshly painted. This is a private residence which we are leaving only because of a required job relocation. There is a wonderful and friendly neighborhood grocery store a block away, which sells great meats, and lunch meats, and all of the groceries you will need for the week, or at the last minute to cook dinner ("Joe's Market"). The house is also within three walking blocks of a Seven-Eleven, and the local fire house, and eight blocks of a CVS, and a two-minute drive to a local supermarket, and eight minutes of the Willow Grove Mall, and Abington Memorial Hospital and Abington Library (both of which are excellent). Our house is in the North Hills area of Abington Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania 19038, and is a single detached home. as are the other homes on the block, in a residential zone. It would take probably 20-25 minutes or so to get into town. You could also drive into town in about 30 minutes. It is adjacent to Glenside, Ardsley, Dresher, and near Jenkintown and Willow Grove. The home is in the Abington School District, which enjoys an excellent reputation. Bus pick-up for the Copper Beech Elementary School is down at the end of the street, within view of our home. Bus pick up for junior and senior high is 2-3 blocks away. Queen of Peace Parochial School is within a mile or so, and I believe that there is a bus pick up for this school also, and this is down the next block I believe. The home is within 35 minutes of King of Prussia, Langhorne, and Bryn Mawr, and Villanova, and is two hours from Ocean City, New Jersey. ]]>
